      • Key Ethical Issues and Hindrances to Ethical Behavior in Korean Insurance Industry

        The purpose of this paper is to investigate key ethical issues and hindrances to ethical behavior faced by professionals working in Korean insurance industry. For this purpose, conducted is a survey of actuaries in a variety of positions in insurance companies and insurance related institutions. The findings also are compared to those of American studies. Actuaries' perceptions of the key ethical issues tend to be restricted to actuarial aspects such as insufficient legal authority to perform professional services in an ethical manner and failure to get adequate ethics training program. But some issues arising in marketing are considered significant similar to the U.S. As a whole, key ethical issues and challenges are not significantly different from the viewpoints of actuaries working in the life and non-life insurance business. Regarding key hindrances to ethical behavior, the 15 factors are presented such as competitive pressures, performance-based evaluation and unethical demand made by clients. These findings are generally similar to those of the U.S. studies.

        This paper deals with the vibration and noise characteristics of three different kinds of pipe structures (PVC pipe, cast-iron pipe and newly developed pp pipe). In order to measure the structure born noise, an impact force generated by dropping a small ball was applied to three different kinds of pipes. It was confirmed that the structure born noise could be reduced by employing a high damping material. Also, transmission loss of a pipe was investigated for various frequency ranges by using a speaker as a sound source.

      • 날개끝 형상변화에 의한 유도항력 감소장치에 관한 연구

        비행중에 항공기의 연료를 절약시키는 가장 중요한 요소는 항공기의 항력을 감소시키는 것으로서 본 연구에서는 연료 절약형 이음속 항공기의 개발을 위한 유도항력감소에 관한 기초적인 연구를 수행하였다. 날개의 형상에 따라 유도항력이 달라지므로 이 항력을 최소로 하는 날개끝의 형상에 대한 연구와 날개끝 와류를 제어하는 유도항력 감소장치에 대하여 이론해석 및 풍동실험을 통한 연구를 하였다. 날개끝의 형상으로는 날개 끝에 camber와 파형이 있는 새로운 crescent형 날개끝 모양에 대한 공력특성을 구하였다. 날개 끝에 장착하는 유도항력 감소장치로서 날개끝 strake, 방사형 다중슬롯에 대한 기술을 개발하였다. 여러 가지 모양의 날개끝 strake를 설계하여 직사각형 날개, 테이퍼형 날개 및 뒤젖힘 날개에 장착하여 수치해석 및 풍동실험을 통한 공력특성을 조사하였다. 날개 끝에 방사형으로 설치한 다중슬롯장치가 날개끝 와류를 제어하여 날개의 양항계수에 미치는 효과를 실험적인 방법으로 연구하였다. The most important factor in saving fuel during flight is the reduction of aerodynamic drag of the aircraft. In this study, a basic research has been carried out to reduce the induced drag for the development of fuel economical subsonic aircraft. The wing tip configuration and devices to reduce induced drag were investigated by numerical analysis and experiment. To study the aerodynamic characteristics of a wing tip shape, wind tunnel testing and numerical analysis were carried out for a newly developed crescent wing tip with camber and wavy tip shape. For the wing tip drag reduction devices such as wing tip strakes, and radial multiple slots were developed. Various shapes of wing tip strakes were designed and wind tunnel tests were conducted to investigate the aerodynamic characteristics of wing tip strakes for a rectangular wing, tapered and 35 degree swept back wing. An experimental study was performed for effect of the multiple slots which were formed at the wing tip radially on the coefficient of lift and drag of a wing by reducing the trailing vortex effect.

      • Taurine 첨가에 따른 국수의 품질 특성 변화

        Taurine was added to wheat flour noodles to investigate the effects on properties of dried and cooked noodles. Addition of taurine up to 3% of flour did not affect mixing properties of dough. Taurine improved the aftertaste and softness of noodle, which resulted in increase of preference of noodles. However brightness of dried and cooked noodles were not improved with taurine addition. Cooking loss and protein loss were decreased and carbohydrate and turbidity of broth were increased with addition of taurine.

        고온설비의 FFS평가를 위한 308 스테인리스강의 크리프 균열성장 재료물성에 대한 연구

        For fitness-for-service evaluation of high temperature plant components with defects, crack growth life must be assessed properly as indicated in the recent draft of API 579 code. Type 308 stainless steel has been widely used as a field weld material in the petrochemical industry. In this study, creep crack growth data of type 308 stainless steel are colleted and re-analyzed using C_t as a characterizing fracture parameter. A unique da/dt versus C_t relationship was obtained despite of difference of creep deformation constant or the reviewed materials and specimen geometry of the tested specimens. The obtained results can be employed for crack growth life assessment and fitness-for-service evaluation for the cracks in high temperature components. It is also argued that since the effect of creep properties and other material variability on the creep crack growth behavior would be minor the obtained model may be applied for most of the 308 stainless steels.

      • 항공기 착륙장치 완충기의 전산유체역학을 이용한 유량계수 예측 및 동특성해석

        본 연구에서 항공기 착륙장치 완충기 내부를 전산유체역학을 이용하여 오일 유동해석과 일정유량계수의 경우에 대하여 각각 동특성해석을 수행하여 실제 낙하시험결과와 비교하였다. 서로 다른 2가지의 항공기 착륙조건에 대해 동특성 해석을 수행한 결과는 실제 낙하시험 결과와 유사하였고 대체로 안정하였다. 따라서 본 연구에 사용된 해석프로그램의 안정성과 신뢰성을 확인할 수 있으므로 실제 항공기 착륙장치의 설계시 본 연구를 통해 해석프로그램을 사용한다면 낙하시험의 횟수를 현저히 줄일 수 있다. In this study, the dynamic characteristics of an aircraft landing gear was analyzed using Computational Fluid Mechanics and compared with actual drop test results. The results of dynamic analysis shows stable and similar results of actual drop test results for two different landing conditions. Therefore the developed aircraft landing gear program can be used in designing landing gear shock absorber, and using developed program it can be concluded that the number of drop test can be reduced remarkably.

      • 잣나무 天然化學物質이 Callus 誘起 및 細菌培養에 미치는 影響

        To study allelopathic of naturally occurring substances emitted from Pinus koraiensis, the effects of water extracts and volatile substances of the tree on callus induction and bacterial culture were examined. The induction and growth of callus were inversely proportional to the concentration of the extract and of the essential oils supplemented to Murashige and Skoog's media. However, low concentration(5μl/l) of essential oil promoted callus growth. In germiculture of several bacteria, the extracts of Pinus koraiensis markedly showed the inhibitory effects on bacterial growth. It was, therefore, confirmed that the chemical substances of Pinus koraiensis tree clearly showed the biological toxic activity at high concentrations.

      • 종이상자포장기의 개발에 관한 연구

        The paper describes the development of a new automatic wrapping machine using paper films as it has not been used so far. The most of the automatic wrapping machine have used the vinyl film causing environmental pollution, the paper films, however, have a weak point in the aspect of high temperature adhesion. Therefore, the mechanism of the existing wrapping machine should be altered to prevent it from curling effect through the technical know-how. A new method and technology reducing the curling effect in the automnatic wrapping machine are demonstrated by using developed blower. Thus it is exqection and will decrease environmental pollution.
