      • 로켓 추진력을 받는 외팔보의 동적 안정성에 관한 수치 및 실험적 연구

        The paper deals with the flutter of a cantilevered beam subjected to a rocket thrust generated by a solid rocket motor. It is saaumed that the rocket thrust is to be a constant follower thrust, and produced by the installation of a solid rocket motor to the tip end of the cantilevered beam. The rocket motor is considered to be a rigid body having finite sizes, but not a mass point as it has been assumed so far. Governing equations are derived through the extended Hamilton's principle, and finite element method is applied to obtain the theoretical prediction for critical follower thrust. The maximum follower thrust is also calculated through the change of shear deformation parameter of the beam in the numerical simulation. The theoretical prediction for flutter or stability is verified by experiment. The experimental results show that critical follower thrust in theory agrees well with the experimental value taking account of the magnitude, rotary inertia of the rocket motor and the distance from the tip end of the beam to the center of gravity of the rocket motor.

      • 유체유동에 의한 유연한 파이프의 불안정과 진동억제에 미치는 부가질량의 영향

        The paper deals with vibration suppression and dynamic stability of a vertical cantilevered pipe conveying an internal flowing fluid and having an attached mass. Real pipe systems may have some valves or mechanical attached parts, which can be regarded as attached lumped masses. The effect of attached mass on the dynamic stability of a cantilevered pipe conveying fluid is investigated for different locations and magnitudes of the attached mass. The flow rate was controlled through motor pump output and measured by a flow meter. Experimental resutls in the vicinity of flutter fluid velocity were compared with theoretical predictions. It has been found that the experimental results are in substantial agreement with the theoretical predictions. Finally, in order to suppress the vibration of the pipe subjected to a disturbance, and control technique using an internal flowing fluid is introduced.

      • 2층 탄성기초위에 놓인 불균일 테이퍼진 보의 진동과 안정성

        The paper describes the vibration and the stability of nonuniform tapered beams resting on two-layered elastic foundations. The two-layered elastic foundations are constructed by discributed Winkler springs and shearing layers as ofen used in oil models. Governing equations are derived from energy experssions using Hamilton's Principle. The associated eigenvalue problems are solved to obtain the free vibration frequencies or the buckling loads. Numerical results for the vibration and the stability of beams under an axial force are presented and compared with other available solutions. Finally, vibration frequencies and critical forces are investigated for various thickness ratios, shear foundation parameters, Winkler foundation parameters, and boundary conditions of tapered beams.

        The paper describes the parametric instability of free-free beams subjected to a controlled pulsating follower force. The beam has a tip rigid body not a mass point, and the direction of pulsating follower force is controlled by the direction control sensor. Equations of motion are derived by Hamilton's principle and the instability regions are obtained by finite element formulation. The effects of magnitude, rotary inertia, the distance between free end of the beam and the center of gravity of the rigid body on the instability types and regions are investigated by the change of the constant and periodic part of the follower force.

        Dynamic Response Analysis of a Cantilevered Beam due to an Elastic Impact

        The beam structure models with impact or contact parts under impact forces have been applied to the design of mechanical and electronic accessories. Switches, pick-ups and sensors are the typical examples of the structure to be designed to colliding with other parts. The damping characteristics and stiffness of an impacter have a great effect on dynamic responses of structures subjected to impact forces. Since the response characteristics of structures have an effect on the generation of impact forces, both theoretical and experimental investigations for the dynamic relationships between the impacter and impact mechanism are required for the structural design to reduce impact forces or eliminate unwanted vibration modes. In this paper, in order to examine the relationship between the changes of the stiffness and damping of an impacter and the variations of the dynamic characteristics of the impact model of a cantilevered beam with an impacter, the impact force of the impacter and response characteristics of the cantilevered beam were analyzed by both numerical simulation and experiments. Since the stiffness and damping of the impacter are highly nonlinear, the contact model using revised Hertz-model was established by experiments. Also, the results of numerical analyses for the dynamic response and impact force of a cantilevered beam with an impacter have a good agreement with experimental results. It is believed that the mathematical model and the analytical method presented here can be used for the design analysis and the improvement of performances of the beam-shape switches and pickup devices.

        화재에 대한 Extra-dosed교 케이블의 안전성 평가

        최근 국내에서 케이블을 이용한 Extradosed 교 형식의 대교들이 건설되고 있다. 이러한 교량에서 자동차 충돌등으로 인한 화재에 의해 교량이 손상을 입는 사고가 발생되고 있어 화재에 대한 안정성해석이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 케이블 교량형식 중 최근 국내에서 사용빈도가 높은 Extradosed 교 형식을 해석모델로 하였으며, 상용소프트웨어인 Solid Works 2007을 사용하여 모델링하고, COSMOS FloWorks 2007소프트웨어에 의한 열전달 해석 및 열응력 해석을 통하여 교량위 화재 발생시 와이어, 사재방재 파이프 및 그 주변에 대한 열유동 해석 및 사재방재 케이블의 안전을 검토하였다. 열원의 온도가 일정한 경우에 대해 다음 3개의 중요변수를 해석변수로 사용하였다. : (1)방호책과 열원사이의 거리, (2)풍속, (3) 스테인레스 강관의 끝단의 높이. Extra dosed bridge among the Cabled-stayed bridges have been increasingly built in korea in recently. But such bridges were often damaged by fire due to car collison. In this study Extra dosed bridges among the cabled-supported bridges are selected to analysis model frequently to be designed and/or constructed in recent and furture in this study. COSMOS FloWorks 2007 software are used for Heat Transfer Analysis and Thermal Stress Analysis. The safety of wire, HDPE pipe and stainless steel pipe are investigated. In the case of the constant of the temperature of the heat source, the significant three variables for the analysis are selected for study : (1) the distance between the fire-proof bulk head and the heat source, (2) wind velocity, (3) the height of the end of Stainless steel pipe.

      • 종동력을 받는 탄성지지된 외팔보의 동적 안정성에 미치는 스프링위치와 상수의 영향

        The influences of spring position and spring stiffness on the critical force of a cantilevered beam subjected to a follower force are investigated. The spring attatched to the beam is assumed to be a translational one and can be located at arbitrary positions of the beam as it has not been assumed so far. The effects of transeverse shear deformation and rotary intertia of the beam are also included in this analysis. The charateristic equation for the system is derived and a finite element model of the beam using local coordinates is formulated through extended Hamilton's principle. It is found that when the spring is located at position less than that of 0.5L, the flutter type instability only exists. It is shown that the spring position approaches to the free end of the beam from its midpoint, instability type is changed from flutter to divergence through the jump phenomina according to the increase of spring stiffness.

      • 두 파라미터 탄성기초를 갖는 테이퍼진 티모센코 보의 진동 및 안정성

        본 논문은 이중 탄성기초 위에 놓인 테이퍼진 티모센코 보의 진동과 동적 안정성에 대한 연구로써, 이중 탄성기초는 지반모델에서 흔히 이용되는 분포 Winkler 스프링들과 전단기초층으로 구성된다. 보의 전단변형과 회전관성이 고려되고, 지배방정식은 Halmilton원리를 이용한 에너지 표현식에 의해 유도된다. 고유진동수와 좌굴하중을 구하기 위해 관계되는 고유치 문제를 풀며, 출력을 받는 보의 진동에 대한 수치해석결과들이 제시되는 다른 방법을 사용한 유용한 해의 결과들과 비교된다. 출력을 받고 탄성기초 위에 놓인 테이퍼진 티모센코 보의 고유진동수, 모드 형상, 그리고 임계하중 값들이 다양한 테이퍼 두께의 비, 전단기초 파라미터, Winkler 기초파라미터, 경계조건의 변화에 대해 조사된다. The paper describes the vibration and stability of tapered beams on two-parameter elastic foundations. The two-parameter elastic foundations are constructed by distributed Winkler springs and a shearing layer as of ten used in soil models. The shear deformation and the rotatory inertia of a beam are taken into account. Governing equations are derived from energy expressions using Hamilton\`s principle. The associated eigenvalue problems are solved to obtain the free vibration frequencies or the buckling loads. Numerical results for the vibration of a beam with an axial force are presented and compared when other solutions are available. Vibration frequencies, mode shapes, and critical forces of a tapered Timoshenko beam on elastic foundations under an axial force are investigated for various thickness ratios, shear foundation parameters, Winkler foundation parameters and boundary conditions.
