<P>We present the measurement of the absolute branching fractions of B+ -> Xc (c) over barK+ and B+ -> (D) over bar ((*)0)pi(+) decays, using a data sample of 772 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected at the gamma(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. Here, X-c (c) over bar denotes eta(c), J/psi, chi(c0), chi(c1), eta(c) (2S), psi(2S), psi(3770), X(3872), and X(3915). We do not observe significant signals for X(3872) or X(3915) and set the 90% confidence level upper limits at B(B+ -> X(3872)K+) < 2.6 x 10(-4) and B(B+ -> X(3915)K+) < 2.8 x 10(-4). These represent the most stringent upper limit for B(B+ -> X(3872)K+) to date and the first limit for B(B+ -> X(3915)K+). The measured branching fractions for eta(c) and eta(c)(2S) are the most precise to date, B(B+ -> eta K-c(+)) = (12.0 +/- 0.8 +/- 0.7) x 10(-4) and B(B+ -> eta(c)(2S)K+) = (4.8 +/- 1.1 +/- 0.3) x 10(-4), where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively.</P>

Agribusiness has to be at par with other businesses in adapting to the globalized market environment to take advantage of the new opportunities brought about by the new market reach. With the increased internet and social media penetration in the Philippines as shown in the digital statistical indicators in 2016 and 2017, and the support of telecommunication service providers, opportunities for adoption of e-commerce are available for agribusiness companies.E-commerce becomes increasingly important to business organizations as businesses connect with the other players in the supply chain. Although e-commerce has been found to benefit businesses, and there is awareness among agribusiness MSMEs of these benefits, adoption of e-commerce agribusiness retail micro, small and medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Laguna, Philippines is relatively slow compared to big businesses. The traditional way of doing business, specifically, the personalized interaction with the customers that the MSMEs would like to maintain, the generally small business size, the cost of investing, implementing and maintaining e-commerce infrastructure and people and the lack of knowledge of e-commerce among agribusiness retail MSMEs were the barriers to e-commerce adoption among retail MSMEs.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P><B>Background</B></P> <P>Previous studies showed that the insulin resistance (IR) could be related to depression. However, this association is still equivocal in the general population. Herein, we aimed to investigate the association between IR and depressive symptoms in a large sample in South Korea.</P> <P><B>Methods</B></P> <P>A cross-sectional study was carried out for 165,443 Korean men and women who received a health checkup including various clinical parameters and the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression scales (CES-D). Subjects were stratified into subgroups by CES-D score, sex, age, and presence of diabetes. The odd ratios (ORs) for homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) were compared between groups using multivariable logistic regression analyses.</P> <P><B>Results</B></P> <P>After adjusting covariates (e.g. smoking, family income, marriage state, unemployment status, average alcohol use, BMI, physical activity, systolic blood pressure, diabetes), increased IR was weakly associated with greater depressive symptoms (adjusted OR=1.01 [95% CI 1.0001–1.03]). Subgroup analysis revealed this association was statistically significant in females (adjusted OR=1.03, [95% CI 1.001–1.06]), non-diabetic group (adjusted OR=1.04, [95% CI 1.02–1.06]), and young participants under the age of thirty (adjusted OR=1.17, [95% CI 1.07–1.27]). But we couldn’t find significant association in diabetic and middle to elderly participants.</P> <P><B>Conclusions</B></P> <P>This study demonstrates that there is a relationship between IR and depressive symptoms in the Korean general population. Results from this epidemiological study revealed that young adults and non-diabetic individuals with increased IR may be related with depressive symptoms.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Increased insulin resistance was associated with depressive symptoms in the Korean general population (N=165,443). </LI> <LI> The subgroup analysis revealed the association was statistically significant in female, non-diabetic and young groups. </LI> <LI> Increased insulin resistance in non-diabetic participants was more strongly associated with depressive symptoms. </LI> <LI> These findings suggest that early management of insulin resistance may prevent progression toward depressive symptoms. </LI> </UL> </P>

The Yaba-like disease viruses (YLDV) are members of the Yatapoxvirus family and have double-stranded DNA genomes. The E3L protein, which is essential for pathogenesis in the vaccinia virus, consists of two domains: an N-terminal Z-DNA binding domain and a C-terminal RNA binding domain. The crystal structure of the E3L orthologue of YLDV (yabZαE3L) bound to Z-DNA revealed that the overall structure of yabZαE3L and its interaction with Z-DNA are very similar to those of hZαADAR1. Here we have performed NMR hydrogen exchange experiments on the complexes between yabZαE3L and d(CGCGCG)2 with a variety of protein-to-DNA molar ratios. This study revealed that yabZαE3L could efficiently change the B-form helix of the d(CGCGCG)2 to left-handed Z-DNA via the active-mono B-Z transition pathway like hZαADAR11.

We examined the effects of estradiol (E2), 4-tert-octylphenol (OP), and bisphenol A (BPA) on uterine contractions in immature rats. The expression and localization of contraction-associated proteins (CAPs), and contractility of rat uterus with a collagen gel contraction assay were analyzed. E2, OP, and BPA all increased oxytocin (OT)-related pathway, while the prostaglandin-related signaling was reduced. Interestingly, E2 and estrogenic compounds showed distinct effects on the contractile activity of uterine cells. E2 enhanced the contractility, while OP and BPA significantly decreased it. Immunohistochemical analysis of CAPs showed distinct regulation of prostaglandin F receptor localization by E2 and estrogenic compounds, which may explain the different contractile activities of those reagents. In summary, we demonstrate that E2, OP, and BPA regulate CAP expression in a similar manner in the immature rat uterus, however, the effects on contractile activity were modulated differently. These findings suggest that OP and BPA interfere with uterine contractility.

<P>We report the first measurement of the fraction of J/psi mesons coming from B-meson decay (F (B -> J/psi)) in p + p collisions at root s = 510 GeV. The measurement is performed using the forward silicon vertex detector and central vertex detector at PHENIX, which provide precise tracking and distance-of-closest-approach determinations, enabling the statistical separation of J=. due to B-meson decays from prompt J/psi. The measured value of F (B -> J/psi) is 8.1% +/- 2.3% (stat) +/- 1.9% (syst) for J/psi with transverse momenta 0 < p(T) < 5 GeV/c and rapidity 1.2 < vertical bar y vertical bar < 2.2. The measured fraction F (B -> J/psi) at PHENIX is compared to values measured by other experiments at higher center of mass energies and to fixed-order-next-toleading- logarithm and color-evaporation-model predictions. The b (b) over bar cross section per unit rapidity [d sigma/dy(pp -> b (b) over bar)] extracted from the obtained F (B -> J/psi) and the PHENIX inclusive J/psi cross section measured at 200 GeV scaled with color-evaporation-model calculations, at the mean B hadron rapidity y = +/- 1.7 in 510 GeV p + p collisions, is 3.63(-1.70)(+1.92) mu b. It is consistent with the fixed-order-next-toleading- logarithm calculations.</P>

Grygier, J.,Goldenzweig, P.,Heck, M.,Adachi, I.,Aihara, H.,Al Said, S.,Asner, D. M.,Aushev, T.,Ayad, R.,Aziz, T.,Babu, V.,Badhrees, I.,Bahinipati, S.,Bakich, A. M.,Bansal, V.,Barberio, E.,Behera, P.,B American Physical Society 2017 Physical Review D Vol.96 No.9
<P>We present the results of a search for the rare decays B -> h nu(nu) over bar, where h stands for K+, K-S(0), K*(+); K*(0); pi(+); pi(0), rho(+) and rho(0). The results are obtained with 772 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. We reconstruct one B meson in a semileptonic decay and require a single h meson but nothing else on the signal side. We observe no significant signal and set upper limits on the branching fractions. The limits set on the B-0 -> K-S(0)nu(nu) over bar, B-0 -> K*(0)nu(nu) over bar, B+ -> pi(+)nu(nu) over bar, B-0 -> pi(0)nu(nu) over bar, B+ -> rho(+)nu(nu) over bar, and B-0 -> rho(0)nu(nu) over bar channels are the world's most stringent.</P>

<P>We measure the branching fraction and CP violation asymmetry in the decay B-0 -> pi(0)pi(0), using a data sample of 752 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected at the Y(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. The obtained branching fraction and direct CP asymmetry are B(B -> pi(0)pi(0)) = [1.31 +/- 0.19(stat) +/- 0.19(syst)] x 10(-6) and A(CP) = +0.14 +/- 0.36(stat) +/- 0.10(syst), respectively. The signal significance, including the systematic uncertainty, is 6.4 standard deviations. We combine these results with Belle's earlier measurements of B-0 -> pi(+)pi(-) and B-+/- -> pi(+/-)pi(0) to exclude the CP-violating parameter phi(2) from the range 15.5 degrees < phi(2) < 75.0 degrees at 95% confidence level.</P>
