Stable pH sensitivity of LaAlO3/SrTiO3 interfacial electronic gas

Probing pH value is essential for many applications. The request of developing stable and highly sensitive pH sensor with small size are increased recently, this is a challenge to the traditional glass pH sensors. This work investigated the pH sensing performance of the novel two-dimensional electronic gas (2DEG) at the LaAlO3/ SrTiO3 heterostructure interface discovered recently. The experimental results demonstrated that the devices host excellent sensing ability to the pH value of aqueous solutions. Quite stable output current is realized for a given pH value, and the output current is linearly dependent on pH value as required by sensor applications. This work would prompt the application research of LaAlO3/SrTiO3 heterostructure and design of new generation of advanced pH sensors.
모바일 횡스크롤 액션 게임 유저 인터페이스 디자인의 사용성에 관한 연구 : '다함께 삼국지’와 ‘삼국용장전’ 중심으로

모바일 게임 시장의 급속한 확대로 인해 시장에서 수많은 스마트폰 게임이 나타났다. 그런데 수많은 스마트폰 게임 중에서 성공한 게임 있고 실패한 게임도 많이 있다. 게임의 성공에 영향을 미치는 요소가 게임 콘텐츠, 게임 화면 디자인, 게임 유저 인터페이스 등이 있다. 본 논문은 스마트폰 횡스크롤 액션 게임 개발에 있어 수익적 측면에서 성공한 ‘다함께 삼국지’와 그렇지 못한 ‘삼국용장전’를 중심으로 UI(user interface) 디자인의 사용성의 측면에서 분석한 것이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 먼저 스마트폰 게임의 분류와 스마트폰 횡스크롤 액션 게임에 대해 이론적 고찰을 하고 Jakob Neilson의 ‘Ten Usability Heuristics’와 Melissa A .Federoff의 ‘Game Heuristics’에 따라 조작의 편의성과 조작방식의 학습성 측면에서 모바일 게임 UI디자인 사용성의 평가 항목을 도출하여 평가 결과의 전문성과 객관성을 높이기 위해 모바일 게임 콘텐츠 개발 경력 3년 이상의 실무자 10명과 하루 평균 스마트폰 게임 하는 시간 1시간 이상의 대학생 5명을 표본으로 선정하였고 대상으로 설문조사를 하고 그 결과에 대해 비교 두 게임을 분석하고 높은 사용성의 모바일 게임 유저 인터페이스를 연구하였다. The number of mobile games on the market has risen drastically with the rise in the mobile game market. The number of success stories, as well as the games, which have not done so well, has also risen. The success of the game relies much on the game contents, the game design, as well as the game interface. This paper seeks to compare two similar games, the successful “Together the Three Kingdoms” and the unsuccessful “Kingdoms redundancy”, by comparing how these two games were able to utilize their UI (User Interface). As such, this paper will investigate smartphone game classification and smartphone Side-scrolling Action Game theoretically, and then apply Jakob Neilson’s “Ten Usability Heuristics” and Melissa A. Federoff’s “Game Heuristics” system of gameplay ease and gameplay repetition and in order to improve the specialty and impersonality of evaluation results, 10 members who have experience in mobile game development for over three years and 5 college students who spend over one hour playing smart phone games every day were selected to survey. According to survey result, this paper compared and analysed these two games, then studied mobile game user interface which have higher usability.
AlGaN/GaN heterostructure pH sensor with multi-sensing segments

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>pH sensor is very important in various fields, and has triggered many types of devices based on different materials and mechanisms. How to improve the performances of the sensors is one of major challenges now. In the present paper, we developed an idea to improve the sensitivity of pH sensors based on AlGaN/GaN high-electron-mobility transistors (HEMTs) by introducing multi-sensing segments, and experimentally fabricated prototype devicesand then investigated their responses to aqueous solutions under different pH values. The optimized sensor exhibits a very high linear sensitivity of 1.35 mA/pH at drain-source voltage of 1.5 V, which is much higher than those of conventional pH sensors with single open gate sensing area. This indicates that the multi-sensing segments is very effective in increasing the sensitivity of the pH sensor, rather than simply increasing the sensing area. The sensors degrade after measurement in solution for a long working time, but they can recover to their initial states in a certain duration after washing, typically ∼24 h. Our finding paves new strategy for the future design of high sensitive and stable pH sensors based on HEMTs.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Novel multi-sensing segments pH sensor is designed and fabricated by using AlGaN/GaN high electron mobility transistor. </LI> <LI> Realizing very high sensitivity on the multi-sensing sensor, which is much higher than that of conventional geometric pH sensor. </LI> <LI> Achieved excellent performance stability with good recovery feature on the multi-sensing sensor. </LI> </UL> </P>
Energy-saving Strategy Based on an Immunization Algorithm for Network Traffic

The rapid development of both communication traffic and increasing optical network sizes has increased energy consumption. Traditional algorithms and strategies don`t apply to controlling the expanded network. Immunization algorithms originated from the complex system theory are feasible for large-scale systems based on a scale-free network model. This paper proposes the immunization strategy for complex systems which includes random and targeted immunizations to solve energy consumption issues and uses traffic to judge the energy savings from the node immunization. The simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed strategy. Furthermore, this paper provides a possibility for saving energy with optical transmission networks.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to develop a scale to measure nursing students' competence in managing violence from patients and relatives in the hospital where nursing students perform clinical practicum. Methods: Literature review and Delphi expert consultation were utilized to develop the content of the management of workplace violence competence scale (MWVCS). A convenience sample of 797 nursing students responded to the questionnaire. Exploratory factor analysis of the scale was performed. Internal consistency and testeretest reliability were examined. Results: The MWVCS consisted of 40 items with a five-point scale. Seven factors explained 63.2% of the total explained variance. The content validity index for the scale was .99. Cronbach's a of the scale was .96, and testeretest correlations were found to be ≥ .76. Conclusion: The MWVCS is a reliable and valid scale for nursing educators to assess the level of students' competence in violence management and to evaluate the effectiveness of education to enhance their ability to manage workplace violence.
Blind Color Image Watermarking Based on DWT and LU Decomposition

In watermarking schemes, the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) is broadly used because its frequency component separation is very useful. Moreover, LU decomposition has little influence on the visual quality of the watermark. Hence, in this paper, a novel blind watermark algorithm is presented based on LU transform and DWT for the copyright protection of digital images. In this algorithm, the color host image is first performed with DWT. Then, the horizontal and vertical diagonal high frequency components are extracted from the wavelet domain, and the sub-images are divided into 4×4 non-overlapping image blocks. Next, each sub-block is performed with LU decomposition. Finally, the color image watermark is transformed by Arnold permutation, and then it is inserted into the upper triangular matrix. The experimental results imply that this algorithm has good features of invisibility and it is robust against different attacks to a certain degree, such as contrast adjustment, JPEG compression, salt and pepper noise, cropping, and Gaussian noise.
