We examined empirically the causes of the lead-lag relation existing in Korean stock returns, using the daily return data from 1985 to 1995. We have run the regressions of the lead-lag measures of the stock returns compared to the bench mark portfolio return on firm-sizes, trading frequencies, institutional investor's ownerships, trading volumes, and the standard deviations of returns and found the empirical evidences as followings. First, we found that the stock returns of small firms lagged the ones of the large firms. Also, the returns on less trading stocks lagged those on more trading stocks. Second, The impacts that size, frequency and volume have on the lead-lag relation of the stock returns are appeared to have the directional consistencies regardless to the analysis periods. Third, the institution's ownerships have the slightly different effects on the lead-lag relation of the stock returns according to the analysis periods. Finally, The impacts that the standard deviations of the stock returns have on the serial correlations of the stock returns have shown the considerable differences on its directions and degrees according the the analysis periods.

In this paper, we study design and implementation of narrow-band mobile communication systems using TTIB. In mobile communication systems, multipath fading is one of the major factors which cause the system performance to deteriorate. In the TTIB system, a pilot tone is used as the reference signal to compensate for the fading. The TTIB SSB transceiver is implemented using extensive digital signal processing and the implemented fading compensation algorithm in the receiver is shown to operate well even in the severe fading environment.

This study is to investigate the diversity of the birds and avifauna in and around Mt. Kumsoo and Mt. Jangtae with focusing on forest type. Mt. Kumsoo consists mainly of natural forest, whereas man-made plantations were found in Mt. Jangtae. Bird diversity was evaluated according to the richness of species. Species richness was higher in Quercus mongolica, Q. variabilis, and Q. serrata-Q. variabilis communities than in Metasequoia glyptostroboides and Picea abies communities, and higher in Castanea crenata, P. koraiensis, Eucommia ulmoides, and P. densiflora communities than in Q. acutissima and Pinus densiflora communities. Nine species of bird discovered in communities of Q. mongolica, Q. variabilis, and Q. serrata-Q. variabilis were not found in M. glyptostroboides and P. abies communities; one species was found in M. glyptostroboides and P. abies communities but not in Q. mongolica, Q. variabilis, and Q. serrata-Q. variabilis communities, and fourteen species were present in all flora. Difference in habitat-use is important because the effect of reforestation on the avian diversity should not be examined only according to forest type, but also should examine the proportion of plantation in each area.

Mercuric chloride, in inorganic compound, is one of the most important drugs that has been used in the argricultural drug, antisyphilitica and anticeptic, but it's not use clinical field at present time. We have studied the mechanism by examing the effect of sex-different on the mercuric chloride-induced nephrotoxicity. Blood urea nitrogen(BUN) level, urinary lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) activities of male rats give mercuric chloride significantly increased in comparison with that of the female rats. But, r-glutamyltransferase(r-GT) activity of male rats give mercuric chloride slightly increased in comparison with that of the female rats. Renal nonprotein-bound sulfhydryl, glutathione concentration of male rats significantly decreased in comparison with that of the female rats given mercuric chloride, but protein-bound sulhydryl concentration was not affected. kidney to body weight ratio of male rats subsequent increased in comparison with that of the female rats given mercuric chloride. These result suggested that nephrotoxicity of mercuric chloride in sex difference caused distal tubule necrosis on kidney.

This study was performed to know LAS concentration in the small urban stream and estimate the LAS removal efficiency when apply to natural purification method with variable media. When we used gravel and concrete as media, the average LAS concentration of influent was 819.7㎍/ℓ (112.0 ∼ 1671.0 ㎍/ℓ). The average LAS concentration of effluent gravel media reactor was 58.5 ㎍/ℓ (0 ∼ 158.4 ㎍/ℓ) and average removal efficiency was 93.8%. The average LAS concentration of effluent concrete media reactor was 33.1 ㎍/ℓ (0 ∼ 136.8 ㎍/ℓ) and average removal efficiency was 96.1%. And when we used tire and scrubber, the average LAS concentration of influent was 693.7 ㎍/ℓ (241.5 ∼ 1330.3 ㎍/ℓ). The average LAS concentration of effluent tire media reactor was 88.4 ㎍/ℓ (47.8 ∼ 131.8 ㎍/ℓ) and average removal efficiency was 83.9%. The average LAS concentration of effluent scrubber media reactor was 26.1 ㎍/ℓ(0 ∼ 58.9 ㎍/ℓ) and average removal efficiency was 95.3%.

The correlation equations were proposed to predict the flow duration of ungaged basin by regression analysis based on geomorphological factors. The proposed correlation equations give good results in consequence of application in Kagyung stream basin and Samki stream basin. Among the flow duration, the correlation coefficient of fruitful water discharge was the smallest value, on the hand, the correlation coefficient of reference low water flow was appeared to be the largest value. The correlation coefficient including only stream slope S as the independent variable was the smallest value, on the other hand, in the case of including basin area A and stream length L or A, L, S as the independent variable the correlation coefficient appeared to be the largest value and in this case, the two correlation coefficient were very close. These proposed correlation equations can be used to grasp the flow duration by acquiring the geomorphological factors of ungaged stream basin.
마이크로파 여기 플라즈마광 생성을 위한 도파관 시스템 설계에 관한 연구

In this paper, the plasma lighting system(PLS) excited by the commercial high power magnetron is developed. The design concepts are based on maximizing the huninous efficacy in conjunction with the miniaturization of waveguide system Furthermore the fine tuning is simplified by using only one stub, and the impedance matching is maximized by introducing the tapering technique. The experimental results show that the luminous efficacy can be dramatically improved by the proposed design method.
