Steel-fiber reinforced concrete slabs have good blast and spall resistance. In this study, compression and splitting tensile experiments were carried out to obtain the basic quasi-static mechanical properties of the steel-fiber concrete specimens and the influence of steel-fiber parameters was revealed. In-field explosion experiments were performed to study the dynamic responses and damage modes of the steel-fiber reinforced concrete slabs. Five typical spall damage modes were observed, the distribution law of the spalling fragments was obtained, and the influence of steel-fiber shape, length, length–diameter ratio and volume percentage on the spall performance were revealed. These results will provide a basis for the application of steel-fiber reinforced concrete slabs in protective structures.
Decentralized Energy Allocation for Wireless Networks With Renewable Energy Powered Base Stations

<P>In this paper, a green wireless communication system in which base stations are powered by renewable energy sources is considered. This system consists of a capacity-constrained renewable power supplier (RPS) and a base station (BS) that faces a predictable random connection demand from mobile user equipments (UEs). In this model, the BS, which is powered via a combination of a renewable power source and the conventional electric grid, seeks to specify the renewable power inventory policy, i.e., the power storage level. On the other hand, the RPS must strategically choose the energy amount that is supplied to the BS. An M/M/1 make-to-stock queuing model is proposed to investigate the decentralized decisions when the two parties optimize their individual costs in a noncooperative manner. The problem is formulated as a noncooperative game whose Nash equilibrium (NE) strategies are characterized to identify the causes of inefficiency in the decentralized operation. A set of simple linear contracts are introduced to coordinate the system so as to achieve an optimal system performance. The proposed approach is then extended to a setting with one monopolistic RPS and N BSs that are privately informed of their optimal energy inventory levels. In this scenario, we show that the widely used proportional allocation mechanism is no longer socially optimal. To make the BSs truthfully report their energy demand, an incentive compatible (IC) mechanism is proposed for our model. Simulation results show that using the green energy can present significant traditional energy savings for the BS when the connection demand is not heavy. Moreover, the proposed scheme provides valuable energy cost savings by allowing the BSs to smartly use a combination of renewable and traditional energy, even when the BS has a heavy traffic of connections. Also, the results show that performance of the proposed IC mechanism will be close to the social optimal when the green energy production capacity increases.</P>
Distributed Adaptive Attitude Tracking of Multiple Spacecraft with a Leader of Nonzero Input

This paper considers the distributed attitude tracking problem of multiple spacecraft with a leader whose control input is possibly nonzero, bounded, and not available to any follower. Based on the relative attitudes and angular velocities of neighboring spacecraft, we design a distributed discon-tinuous adaptive controller to each follower to guarantee that the attitude errors between the followers and the leader converge to zero for any communication graph containing a directed spanning tree with the leader as the root. To tackle the chattering effect caused by the discontinuous controller, we further propose a distributed continuous adaptive controller, under which both the attitude tracking errors and the adaptive gains are ultimately bounded.

Utilization of fly ash (FA) wastes as the carriers of catalysts for the environmental application is an economicand practical strategy for their low cost, easy accessibility and thermal stability. However, mostcatalysts immobilized on fly ash were metal or metal oxides, some potential catalysts such as metalphthalocyanine complexes have not been reported upon their heterogeneous catalysis with FA as the carriers. In this paper, highly active iron octacarboxyphthalocyanine were immobilized onto the bird nestlikesurfaces of fly ash microspheres after NaOH activation. It is noted that the FeOCPc@FA compositeswith only 2 wt.% exhibited the high catalytic efficiency in the organic dye degradation. The high concentrationof 30 mg/L rhodamine B and methylene blue could be fast decolorized in the presence ofFeOCPc@FA–2 % and KHSO5. Moreover, the ultrafast decolorization of these dyes could be observed inthe catalytic system composed of FeOCPc@FA–2 %, KHSO5 and BuOOH (tert-butyl hydroperoxide). Simultaneous activation of KHSO5 and BuOOH could be realized in our designed catalytic system. Based on the structural characterizations of composites and active species generated during the catalyticprocesses, the probable generation pathway of metal–oxygen active species and various radicals wereanalyzed to explicate the catalytic mechanism. Our investigation provides a high efficiency, low costand environmentally friendly strategy for advanced oxidation treatment of organic pollutants.

Through data mining of the Cordyceps militaris genome, a lectin-encoding gene, CMLec3, was identified. In this study, the CMLec3 sequence was analyzed using bioinformatics approaches, and the gene was heterologously expressed in Escherichia coli BL21 cells. The biological activity of the product was examined. In addition, CMLec3 gene expression levels were assessed. The results showed that the CMLec3 protein contained a lectin domain structure and was successfully expressed. The CMLec3 protein partly inhibited HeLa cell proliferation. CMLec3 exhibited the highest gene expression in the primordium at a level 5.19 times that of the mycelium and 1.35 times that of the fruiting body. This suggests that the gene may be related to fruiting body development.

The location-based services applications are increasingly be developed in today mobile service market to provide more add-value for both service providers and mobile phone users. However, without users’ active acceptance and continuous usage of LBS, the investment in time and money could be in vain. Lots of studies have been done regarding the acceptance and privacy issues related to location-based services. From empirical data, it is easy to explore the usage situation of location-based services for smart-phone users. However, it is difficult to understand the part of users who do not or rarely use location-based services since it is hard to tell the reason that those users do not use location-based services should be attribute to no interests to use LBS or they want to use but there are some unexpected reason that prevent them from disclosing their personal information. Therefore, in this study, smart-phone users were segmented into 5 clusters in terms of willingness to disclose information and real intention to try to use LBS. Subsequently the association rule analysis was applied to explore the characteristics in each cluster, and based on which results a comprehensive customer relationship management strategy was propose in order to promote the usage of location-based services.
Stability of the Rock Mass Reserved in front of Anti-slide Piles

To study the stability evaluation method and failure mode of reserved rock masses, the Yueyang landslide project was taken as the research object. First, based on the limit equilibrium method and elastic mechanics, the formulas for calculating the stability of a reserved rock mass were analyzed. Second, the failure modes of the reserved rock mass were tested by the experiment model. The results show that the failure modes of the reserved rock mass can be divided into three modes: upward sliding failure, downward sliding failure and tensile crack failure, which are mainly related to the strength and width of the reserved rock mass. Therefore, it is unreasonable to regard a reserved rock mass as a unified failure form in the design of anti-slide pile reinforcement. In addition, although both moderate-strength and strong-strength reserved rock masses exhibit tensile crack failure, moderate-strength rock masses under triangular loading are prone to tension-sliding failure, while strong-strength rock masses under parabolic loading are prone to tension-overturning failure. Finally, the displacement and stress monitoring results in the experiment are basically consistent with the theoretical analysis, indicating that the theoretical analysis results have high reliability.
Study on determination of implementation model in intermodal transportation

The determination of implementation model inintermodal transportation is the primary goal of the core transport enterprise. This paper analysis two models in the process of the core transport enterprise to seize market opportunities, and set up model of implementation model by means of NPV. We can get the results that the shorter of the life cycle of the market opportunities, the more earnings the core transport enterprise can get by means of established an intermodal transporation Alliance; if the life cycle of the market opportunities is long enough, the core transport enterprise can get more earnings from take over another enterprises; and longer the life cycle is, the more earning of the core transport enterprise through any way. The empirical analysis verified the conclusion.
