In order to find the distribution, causes and treatments of cleft lip and/or palate, I analyzed 113 patients of cleft lip and/or palate who were treated in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, School of Dentistry, Wonkwang University, Iksan, Chunbuk, KOREA from September 1984 to August 1995. The obtained results were as follows. 1. In total 113 patients of cleft lip and/or palate, male patients were 63 cases (56%) and female patients were 50 cases(44%). 2. In distribution of cleft lip and/or palate, cleft lip patients were 30 cases (27%), cleft palate patient were 23 cases(20%) and cleft lip and palate patients were 60 cases(53%). 3. Unilateral cleft lip patients (78 cases: 87%) were larger than bilateral cleft lip. In unilateral cleft lip patients, lip side cleft lip patients (54 cases: 50%) were larger than right side cleft lip patients (33 cases: 37%). 4. Possible causes of cleft lip and/or palate were related with familial tendency, drug intoxication, malnutrition, old maternal age, stress and hypoxia during 4-8 weeks of pregnancy period. 5. The favorite treated method of cleft lip was Millard rotation-advancement method. probably the most popular operated period was 3 months. 6. The useful operating technique of cleft palate was Wardill V-Y flap method. The most popular period has been 18 to 24 months. 7. In 11 patients with velopharyngeal insufficiency, hypernasality decreased by superior based pharyngeal flap pharyngoplasty. 8. Cleft alveolus was treated with autogenous and allogeneic bone graft. The most appropriate operation period was 9 to 11 years.

The principal purpose of the electrostatic precipitator in the cement industry is prevention of air pollution and collection of valuable materials escaping from the whole processes. Among the various conditions which E.P. performance depends upon, the high resistivity of the particles is the main deteriorating factor. In order to improve the E.P. performance, humidification system that controls the resistivity with moisture is used in general. In this paper, some studies are made on the humidication system using two-fluid nozzles at E.P. inlet as well as on the cause of the E.P. troubles and their counter-measures.
창원시의 대기 및 가옥의 실내 공기에 잔류하는 유기인계 농약에 대한 연구

The residue levels of the organophosphorus compounds in the atmospheric and indoor air collected from Changwon city were investigated. Judging from the comparatively high levels of the compounds in the indoor air on the day when the compound was sprayed, it seems that people especially children and seniors must not stay inside the building on that day, although the number of the samples were small. The amount of the pesticide must be limited to control pests, and the development of unharmful pesticides is necessary.

본 연구는 대구지역의 지하공간내 NO₂농도의 기본자료를 제시하기 위해 수행되었으며 여기에서 얻어진 측정자료들은 지하공간내 NO₂를 감소시키기 위한 일종의 지침으로서 NO₂ 배출원을 조절하기 위한 준비작업으로 제공될 수 있을 것이다. NO₂측정은 Yanagisawa 연구진들이 제안해온 간접적인 시료채취 방법으로 필터뱃지를 사용하였다. 시료채취 지점은 총 5개소이며 여기에는 3개소의 지하상가와 2곳의 지하주차장을 선정하였다. 시료채취기간은 1992년 11월에서 1993년 4월까지이며, 시료채취용 필터벳지의 노출시간은 48시간이다. This study was carried out to provide basic data of NO₂concentration at underground spaces in Taegu Area, by which a sort of guideline for the reduction of NO₂may be prepared for controlling the emission sources. The NO₂measurements was performed using a filter badge method, which is a passive sampling technique purposed by Yanagisawa et al. A total of five sampling sites were selected ; three sites are underground arcades and two are underground parking lots. The sampling period was from November 1992 to May 93. The NO₂data measured were integrated for 48 hours.
HalogenIamp 광조사기와 Plasma xenon arc lamp 광조사기에 의한 광중합 복합레진의 중합률 비교

본 연구의 목적은 일반 halogen lamp 광조사기와 비교하여 plasma xenon arc lamp 광조사기의 광중합 능력을 평가하기 위한 것이다. 7mm의 내경과 1mm, 2mm, 3mm 두께를 갖는 레진 시편을 aluminum 주형상에서 제작하여 plasma xenon arc lamp 광조사기는 2초, 3초, 6초, halogen lamp 광조사기는 20초, 40초, 60초 동안 광조사한 후 Raman spectroscopy를 이용하여 레진 시편 표면과 후면의 중합률을 측정하였다. 표면 중합률은 광조사 시간이 증가함에 따라 halogen lamp 광조사기와 plasma xenon arc lamp 광조사기 모두에서 유의성있게 증가하였으며 전반적인 중합률은 halogen lamp 광조사기에서 더 높았으나 plasma xenon arc lamp 광조사기와 유의한 차이는 없었다. 광조사 시간이 증가함에 따라 halogen lamp 광조사기의 경우 후면 중합률은 모든 두께에서 점차 증가하였으나 1.2mm 두께에서는 유의한 차이가 없었으며 plas-ma xenon arc lamp 광조사기로 중합한 경우에는 모든 두께에서 조사시간이 증가할수록 중합률은 유의성있게 증가하였다. 이상의 결과로 plasma xenon arc lamp 광조사기의 강한 광도가 광조사 시간의 감소를 완전히 보상하지는 못하는 것으로 판단되므로 plasma xenon arc lamp 광조사기로 광중합 복합레진을 중합할 경우 2mm이내의 적층 충전이 요구되며 또한 제조회사가 제시한 조사 시간보다 추가적인 광조사가 필요할 것으로 판단된다. Recently, new light curing unit utilizing the plasma xenon arc lamp is introduced. This curing unit is operated at relatively high intensity, so shortening the curing time significantly. The aim of this experiment was to esti-mate curing capability of plasma xenon arc lamp curing unit compared to traditional halogen lamp curing unit. Degree of conversion was evaluated by Raman spectroscopy after irradiation of specimens with halogen lamp curing unit(Optilux 150, Demetron, USA) for 20s, 40s, 60s and plasma xenon arc lamp curing unit(flipo, Lokki, France) for 2s, 3s, 6s. The results showed that strong light intensity of plasma xenon arc lamp curing unit did not compensate for short exposure time completely. So, Multi-layered curing within 2mm thickness and addi-tional exposure time is recommanded when light-cured composite resin is polymerized with plasma xenon arc lamp curing unit.

There are two kinds of data transmission communication method, namely, Analog communication method and Digital communication method. The latter has many excellent characteristics as compared with the former. In order to design excellent Digital Filter, the window function is studied in this paper. The conventional time-domain windowing requires N/2 stored values of the data window and N multiplications. A class of windows, called binary windows, for the frequency-domain implementation of the Discrete Fourier Transform is proposed. They do not require multiplications or stored constants ; rather, they are replaced by shift and add operations. These windows offer excellent sidelobe behavior compared with the conventional windows.

In the literatual study on Holotrichia, the results were obtained as follows ; 1. Holotrichia is larva of Holotrichia diomphalia Bates etc. powder or liquor of Holotrichia is used medically. 2. Appearance of Holotrichia is shape of kidney, yellowish color. 3. The oriental characters of Holotrichia is warm, toxicant, salty. 4. The significant efficancy of Holotrichia is breaking the stagnant blood. 5. Holotrichia can be applied to the diseases related to thrombosis, and recover the demage of liver. 6. Holotrichia avails Liver diseases such as Hepatitis, Liver cirrhosis, Hepatosplenomegaly, Hepatoma etc.
