Elliptic Flows of Charged and Strange Hadrons in Cu-Cu Collisions at High Energy

We investigate the dependence of the elliptic flow v2 on the transverse momentum PT for charged and strange hadrons produced in Cu-Cu collisions at high energy by using a multi-source ideal gas model. A detailed comparison with the experimental results from Cu-Cu collisions at p sNN = 62.4 GeV and 200 GeV, measured by the STAR collaboration, is discussed. Over wider range of PT , the experimental results v2(PT ) are well described by this model.
Rewiring the Lesioned Brain: Electrical Stimulation for Post-Stroke Motor Restoration

Electrical stimulation has been extensively applied in post-stroke motor restoration, but its treatment mechanisms are not fully understood. Stimulation of neuromotor control system at multiple levels manipulates the corresponding neuronal circuits and results in neuroplasticity changes of stroke survivors. This rewires the lesioned brain and advances functional improvement. This review addresses the therapeutic mechanisms of different stimulation modalities, such as noninvasive brain stimulation, peripheral electrical stimulation, and other emerging techniques. The existing applications, the latest progress, and future directions are discussed. The use of electrical stimulation to facilitate post-stroke motor recovery presents great opportunities in terms of targeted intervention and easy applicability. Further technical improvements and clinical studies are required to reveal the neuromodulatory mechanisms and to enhance rehabilitation therapy efficiency in stroke survivors and people with other movement disorders.

Objective: To conduct a meta-analysis to investigate the value of EBV DNA in diagnosis of nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) in Asian populations, and provide important evidence for screening. Methods: Prospective or respective case-control or cohort studies regarding the detection role of EBV DNA for NPC were included in our study. We conducted a comprehensive literature search in PubMed, EMBASE, and the Chinese Biomedical Database (CBM database between January 1980 and March 2012. Results: A total of 18 studies with 1492 NPC cases and 2641 health controls were included. Almost of the included studies were conducted in China, and only one other conducted in Thailand. The overall results demonstrated that the pooled sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood (+LR) and negative likelihood (-LR) were 0.73 (0.71-0.75), 0.89 (0.88-0.90), 8.84 (5.65-13.84) and 0.19(0.11-0.32), respectively. The overall EBV DNA detection showed the largest area of 0.932 under the summary receiver operator curve (SROC). The accuracy of detection by plasma for NPC (0.86) was higher than in serum (0.81), with largest areas under the SROC of 0.97 and 0.91, respectively. Conclusion: Our results demonstrated the EBV DNA detection in plasma or serum has high sensitivity and specificity in diagnosis of NPC, especially in Chinese populations with a high risk of cancer.

For the complicated structural details in ships and offshore structures, the traditional hotspot stress approaches are known to be sensitive to the element variables of element topologies, sizes, and integration schemes. This motivated to develop a new approach for predicting reasonable hotspot stresses, which is less sensitive to the element variables and easy to be implemented the real marine structures. The three-point bending tests were conducted for the longitudinal attachments with the round and rectangular weld toes. The tests were reproduced in the numerical simulations using the solid and shell element models, and the simulation technique was validated by comparing the experimental stresses with the simulated ones. This paper considered three hotspot stress approaches: the ESM method based on surface stress extrapolation, the Dong's method based on nodal forces along a weld toe, and the proposed method based on nodal forces perpendicular to an imaginary vertical plane at a weld toe. In order to study the element sensitivities of each method, 16 solid element models and 8 shell element models were generated under the bending and tension loads, respectively. The element sensitivity was analyzed in terms of Stress Concentration Factors (SCFs) in viewpoints of two statistical quantities of mean and bias with respect to the reference SCFs. The average SCFs predicted by the proposed method were remarkably in good agreement with the reference SCFs based on the experiments and the ship rules. Negligibly small Coefficients of Variation (CVs) of the SCFs, which is measure of statistical bias, were drawn by the proposed method.

유가사상이 동남아(남양)지역에서 전파되고 발전되는 과정에서, 필연적으로 말레이시아지역 토착문화의 영향을 받게 되어 문화상의 융합현상이 발생했다. “합합(ba ba)文化”의 출현은 바로 이런 종류의 융합의 결과이다. “합합(ba ba)文化”는 유가사상의 기초 위에 말레이시아 문화의 일정한 성분이 결합되어 있음이 특징이라 할 수 있다. 그로 인해 자신들 문화의 독특함을 나타낼 수 있었다. 그러나 총체적인 측면에서 보자면 “합합(ba ba)文化”는 유가문화의 일부분에 속해 유가문화의 한 갈래 또는 하나의 변이 정도로 여겨질 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 유가문화라는 거대한 체계하에 있는 방계 문화의 유형쯤으로 귀속될 수 있다. 그러나 시대의 변천과 사회환경의 변화에 따라서 “합합(ba ba)文化” 또한 반드시 조만간 하나의 역사적 명사가 될 것이다. In Confucianism’s spreading and developing in South-east Asia(Nanyang), it was inevitably affected by the natives’ culture of Malay. So, the result was “the culture of Baba,” after the culture merging. The main characteristic of “the culture of Baba” was Confucian, but it was mixed with some Malay’s culture. Then, it presented it self’s unique culture feature. In general, “the culture of Baba” was subordinate to the Confucianism. It could be regarded as a branch of Confucianism, or a variety of Confucianism. It also could be classified as a secondary culture system under the whole system of Confucianism. As time goes on and the society changes, “the culture of Baba” will be inevitably become a History name.

To solve the common problems of concrete preparation in low-temperature environments, calcium formate (C<sub>2</sub>H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>4</sub>Ca), anhydrous sodium sulfate (Na<sub>2</sub>SO<sub>4</sub>), triethanolamine (C<sub>6</sub>H<sub>15</sub>O<sub>3</sub>N), calcium bromide (CaBr<sub>2</sub>), and triisopropanolamine (C<sub>9</sub>H<sub>21</sub>NO<sub>3</sub>) are selected as early strength agents and mixed with C40 concrete in different dosages under low-temperature environments of 5 ℃ and 10 ℃ to develop a high-efficiency low-temperature compound early strength agent based on the effect of single-doped early strength agents. The effects of the compound early strength agent on the early strength of the concrete, the cement paste setting time, and cement fluidity at 5 ℃ and 10 ℃ are investigated, and the corresponding reaction mechanism is discussed from the perspective of micro-products. The best compound early strength agent ratio is found to be 2 % of calcium formate + 0.08 % of TEA (C<sub>6</sub>H<sub>15</sub>O<sub>3</sub>N). The compound early strength agent effectively promotes the formation of hydration products, such as Ca(OH)<sub>2</sub> and C-S-H gel. In comparison with the control group, the strength of the concrete cured for 18 h, 1 d, 3 d, and 7 d under simulated natural conditions at 5 ℃ increases by 700 %, 540 %, 11.4 % and 10 %, respectively, whereas at 10 ℃, the corresponding values are 991 %, 400 %, 19.6 % and 11 %, respectively. The strength of the concrete at each age is close to the normal temperature standard of the curing strength. The addition of the compound early strength agent causes a reduction in cement fluidity and initial and final setting times, and also yields a good effect on the porosity of the early concrete.
Molecular organization of the B mating type locus of a Lentinula edodes monokaryon strain SUP2

Lentinula edodes is an important cultivated mushroom in China. The development of Lentinula edodes production promotes more studies on it. In our previous work, degenerate PCR and chromosome walking technologies were used to obtain one pheromone receptor gene and one pheromone precursor gene from Lentinula edodes. In this study, four pairs of specific primers were designed according to the whole genome sequencing of the protoplast monokaryon of Lentinula edodes strain 135, to amplify STE3-like pheromone receptor gene and its flanking conserved genes in the protoplast monokaryon strain SUP2 derived from Lentinula edodes strain Suxiang and 33655bp DNA sequence was obtained. By BlastX search, seven putative genes were identified, and three of them are pheromone receptor encoded genes. Furthermore, near to two pheromone receptor genes, four genes encoding proteins with conserved motifs of pheromone precursors were found. This study firstly reveals the molecular organization of the B mating type locus of Lentinula edodes.
