        The purpose of this study is to investigate lifestyle pattern and to analyze the influence of demographic and psycho-social valuables on consumer role concept and ability. For the purpose of this study, questionnaires were administrated to 319 housewives in Chinju. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, One-Way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, Multiple Regression Analysis. The major results of this study were summarized as follows: 1) By utilizying factor analysis the life style patterns of housewives were classified 8 types. 2) The variables which were influenced directly on consumer role concept ; rational activity type, sound and thrifty type, income. (These variables explain consumer role concept 18%) 3) The variables which were influenced on consumer role concept ; rational activity type, social activity type, modernistic self type, number of child, occupation of husband. (These variables explain 37.2%) 4) Relations between consumer role concept and consumer role ability are positive correlation. (r=.24, P<.001)

        리본 형태의 근관에서 열연화주입법의 근관벽에 대한 적합도에 관한 연구 : ADAPTATION TO CANAL WALLS

        The aim of this study is to compare the adaptability of thermoplasticized injectable gutta-percha technique to the canal walls in ribbon-shaped canals. Thirty resin models simulated ribbon-shape canals were instrumented to #40 using. 06 taper Profile systems. Three groups of each 10 resin models were obturated by the lateral condensation technique(LC) and the two thermoplasticized injectable gutta-percha technique; Ultrafil Endoset+Obtura Ⅱ(EO) and Ultrafil Firmset(UF), respectively. After resin model were kept at room temperature for 4 days, they were resected horizontally with microtome at 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5mm levels from apex. At each levels, image of resected surface were taken using CCD camera under a stereomicroscope at ×40 magnification and stored. Ratio of the area of gutta-percha was obtained by calculating area of gutta-percha cone to the total area of canal using digitized image-analyzing program. The data were collected then analyzed statistically using One-way ANOVA. The results were as follows. 1. At 1mm levels, there was no statistically significant difference in the mean ratio gutta-percha among the groups. 2. At 2mm level, EO showed the highest mean ratio of gutta-percha (p<0.05) and there was no significant difference between LC and UF. 3. At 3, 4, 5mm levels, EO and UF and had significantly greater mean ratio of gutta-percha than LC(p<0.05) and there was no significant difference between EO and UF. In conclusion, the thermoplasticized injectable gutta-percha techniques demonstrated relatively favorable adaptability to canal walls than lateral condensation technique in ribbon-shaped canals except for 1mm level.

      • 김치 추출물에 의한 Aflatoxin B_1의 돌연변이 억제 효과

        The inhibitory effects of Kimchi extracts on the mutagenicity induced by aflatoxin B₁(AFB₁) in Salmonella and Drosophila assay systems were studied. The kimchi extracts had inhibitory activity for His^+ to His^+ reverse-mutations induced by AFB₁acting on S. typhimurium TA98. A similar inhibitory effect was detected in somatic cell mutation assaying system of D. melanogaster. In Drosophila wing hair spot test, mutant clone frequency induced by AFB₁was consideranly inhibited by the kimchi extracts. These facts suggest that kimchi rxtracts can inhibit gene mutation, deletion, mititic chromosomal recombination and suppress the formation of cancer and mutation by DNA damage.

      • 大邱 앞山 附近에 環狀岩脈으로 産出되는 石英몬조니岩質 岩類에 對한 岩石學的인 硏究

        The thesis deals with petrogenesis relating to environmental changes through emplacement of quartz monzonitic dikes distributed in the Apsan area in vicinity of Daegu, Korea. These dike rocks belongto monzonite series in the mineralogical composition. and their textures are characterized by a wide range of change from porphyritic at the border to more equigranular at the center portion of the dikes. The quartz monzonitic rocks are occurred as ring dikes around quartz monzonite stock exposed in southern portion of the study area. Throgh the consideration of the textural characteristics and crystallization process of the dike rocks, it is supposed that coarse grained plagioclase phenocrysts (about 8㎜ in diameter) might be already grown as almost present size during stoping at deeper level before the stage of uprising as ring dikes, and intermediate (about 3㎜) and fine (about 1㎜) grained phenocrysts might be nucleated and polymerized during development of conical joint and uprising of magma through the joints. In the viewpoint of plagioclase composition, An-content of the plagioclase phenocrysts decreases from border to center portion on several traverses that cross the dikes in different area, which reflects that marginal phase might be emplaced earlier than the inner phase and that degree of reaction between residual magma and plagioclase increases toward center owing to increasing diffusion rate. The continuous uprising of magma might be also revealed by the fact that tendency of accumulation of phenocrysts in central portion by flow differentiation according to crystal dispersive power in the dikes is not visible in the area. Thus, textural characteristics and composition of plagioclase of the dike rocks in the area, could be contributed as some indicators clarifying the process and mechanism of emplacement and environment of solidification of magma, especially the fact according to the important geological event which represents beginning of jointing and formation of dikes.

      • 장기투석을 받은 만성 신부전 환자에서 발생한 종양에 관한 고찰

        The authors tried to evaluate tumor occurrence in long-term dialysis patients with chronic renal failure. Among 359 patients, 20 patients (about 5.6%) were diagnosed with malignancy during long-term dialysis from the period of 1983 to 1995 at our nephrology department. The ultrasonographic and computed tomographic findings including the clinical features of 20 patients that were retrospectively reviewed. The mean age of the patients was 53 (37-75)years old and the ratio of male to female was 9:1. Among the 20 cases, 7 cases of hepatoma (35%) were developed. Among them, urinary tract tumors such as renal and bladder cancer were developed in 4 (20%) and 2 (10%) of the cases. Other malignant tumors were lymphoma, stomach cancer, uterine cervical cancer, cholangiocarcinoma, lung cancer, meningioma, and acoustic neuroma one case of each (each of 5.3%). The most common tumor in patients with chronic renal failure, who were receiving long-term dialysis, was hepatoma and the second most common tumor was cancer of the urinary tract such as kidney and bladder.

      • 농촌지역 노인들의 우울증상에 관련된 요인들의 특성

        This study was performed to identify risk factors for depression among the elderly in a rural area. A survey was done for the elderly living in Gosam-myenn, Ansung-kun during the period of July 28, 1997 and July 30, 1997. Demographic and sodoeconornic characteristics, and functional and health Status were assessed using a structured questionnaire, and the level of depression was measured by GDS score. The data obtained were analyzed by frequencies, percentage, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression, and the results were as follows: 1. The total sample consisted of 133 elderly. Of them, 47 elderly (35.4%) showed significant depressive Symptoms. 2. The GDS score was the highest for the group over 85 years of age (p < 0.05). Those living alone or widowed showed lower GDS score than those living with someone or married (p < 0.05). 3. The GDS score was the highest in the absolutely dependent group, followed by the partially dependent group, and the independent group (p < 0.01). The elderly who perceived their health Status as excellent showed the lowest GDS score. In contrast, those who had more than five chronic diseases showed the highest GDS score. 4. The elderly receiving financial and emotional support from their family or friends showed lower GDS score compared to those without any support. 5. The economically dependent group showed higher GDS score than that of independent group. 6. The elderly who involved in leisure activities showed lower GDS score than those without any involvement. 7. In terms of risk factors for depression, we found that perceived health Status, subjective economic Status, leisure activities, living arrangement and financial support were inversely associated with GDS score, whereas labor support was positively associated with GDS score. Based upon the above findings, this study suggests that these risk factors for depression in the elderly should be taken into consideration for a comprehensive mental health program for the elderly living in the rural area.

      • 불확실성 개념에 관한 연구

        Purpose: The study has been conducted to identify conceptual system uncertainty of Americans and to compare conceptual system of Americans with that of koreans in 1999. Method: The major questions to get qualitative data was “Please list three items(words or sentences) in the order as they occur to you when you think about uncertainty.” And 7 additive open -ended question were used to enhance the reliability and validity. Data analysis involved three levels of increasing complexity and abstractness with a grouping process of concept with meaning and value to form a more abstract and a greater in scope. Result: Initial level l grouping with listed words or setences yields 14 distinct categories : relationship / family / time / health / trenscental power / life / luck / emotion / society / confusion / doubt / unawareness / unpredictability / others. Categories of confusion was new categories identified from this study in comparing with those categories in Koreans in 1999. Categories of subjectivity was not identified from this study. Level two abstraction with the above 14 categories from level one grouping yields the categories of 'subjectivity of uncertainty', 'outcome', and 'social environment'. The final abstraction yields the greatest concepts in scope of 'human', 'environment', 'concurrent concept'. Conclusion: The results could provide theoretical support on the universarity of the concept of uncertainty.

        흡연, 비흡연 여고생의 일반적인 특성과 인생태도 비교

        The purpose of this study was to compare on the general characteristics and the life-position of smoking and nonsmoking school girl students. The subjects for this study were 80 smoking and 105 nonsmoking school girl students. Data were collected from July 12, 2001 to February 28, 2002 and were measured by using life-position instrument. The data were analyzed by an SPSS/PC+ Windows(version 9.0) computerized program and included x^(2) test and t-test to comparison on the general characteristics and the life-position of smoking and nonsmoking school girl students. As the result, general characteristics affecting on the smoking and nonsmoking school girl students were type of housing, type of family, economy, education of father and mother, satisfaction about school, evaluation of smoking, experience of smoking family. And the life-position affecting on the smoking and nonsmoking school girl students were 'I'm OK, I'm not OK, You are OK.' In conclusion, 8 factors of 10 general characteristics affected on the smoking and smoking school girl students were more negative life-position than nonsmoking school girl students.

        냉동마쇄고추를 첨가한 깍두기의 저장기간에 따른 이화학적 성분 변화 및 관능적 특성

        The purpose of this study was to examine the physico-chemical and sensory characteristics of Kakdugi made with mashed red pepper. With regard to the pH of the Kakdugi. those of the juice from Kakdugi with red pepper powder and of the liquid with mashed red pepper were the highest and lowest immediately after preparation. respectively, but thereafter both slightly decreased, but were similar after the fifth week. Generally. the total acidity of Kakdugi liquid was the higher than that of Kakdtegi juice. With regard to the L value, that of the Kakdugi juice was higher than that of Kakdugi liquid and that of Kakdugi with mashed red pepper washigher than that of Kakdugiuitlr red pepper powder. From the third week, the values of all samples generally decreased. The 'a' value of the Kakdugi liquid with mashed red pepper during fermentation was highest During early fermentation, the juice of Kukdugi with red pepper powder showed a higher value than that of Kakdugi with mashed red pepper, but conversely, from the second week that of Kakdugr with mashed red pepper was higher than that of Kakdugi with red pepper powder. The 'L' value of the juice from Kakdugi with red pepper powder was highest until the second week, but trout the third week that of Kalotugi with trashed red pepper was highest. With respect to the organic acids contents, those of citric, quinic and malic acids decreased, but those of lactic and acetic acids increased during tcrrnentatton progression. In addition, the citric, lacticand malic acids contents of the Kakdugi with mashed red pepper werethe highest, whereas that of quinic acid of the Kakdugi with red pepper powder was the highest. From the forth week, the acetic acid content of the Kakdugi with mashed red pepper was further increased. As a result of the sensory test. Kakdugi with mashed red pepper showed significantly higher values with regard to redness and fresh flavor, hut in overall acceptability in the QDA, appearance and taste in the acceptance test. 'Therefore, our results indicate that mashed red pepper particularly increased the 'a' value and organic acid contents of Kakdugi compared to those of red pepper powder, leading to an increased overall acceptability.
