        만성 알코올 유발 마우스 간손상 및 지방 축적에 대한 제주조릿대잎 에틸 아세테이트 분획물의 간 보호 효과

        Sasa (S.) quelpaertensis Nakai (Korean name, Jeju-Joritdae), which has anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory activities, is a type of bamboo grass distributed widely in Jeju Island, Korea. S. quelpaertensis leaves are used for therapeutic purposes in traditional Korean medicine. This study examined the hepatoprotective effects of the S. quelpaertensis ethyl acetate fraction (SQEA) in a mouse model to mimic alcoholic liver damage. The mice were administered orally with 30% alcohol (5 g/kg) once per day with or without SQEA treatments (100 and 200 mg/kg) for 14 days consecutively. Alcohol consumption increased the serum alcohol content and histopathological changes but reduced the liver weight. Moreover, the livers of the alcohol group exhibited the accumulation of malondialdehyde and cytochrome P450 2E1 (CYP2E1), and lipid droplet coating protein perilipin-2. On the other hand, SQEA dose-dependently attenuated the alcohol-induced serum ethanol content and liver histopathological changes but increased the liver weight. Moreover, SQEA attenuated the level of CYP2E1 and inhibited alcohol-induced lipogenesis in the liver via decreased perilipin-2 expression. These results suggest that SQEA can provide a potent way to reduce the liver damage caused by alcohol consumption.

        The immune system is specifically sensitive to oxidative stress induced by ionizing radiation because of its rapid proliferative activity. For this reason, an instructive immune system is one of the best ways to minimize side effects, such immunodeficiency, of gamma radiation. Over the past few decades, several natural plants with antioxidant and immunomodulatory properties have been identified as adjuncts for nontoxic and successful radiotherapy. Hizikia fusiforme extract (HFE) containing plentiful dietary fiber and fucoidan is known for its instructive antioxidant capacity, immunomodulation abilities, and immune activation. In this study, we determined whether HFE protects radiosensitive immune cells from gamma radiation-induced damage. C57BL/6 mice were irradiated with gamma-ray. The effect of HFE on the ionizing radiation damage of immune cells was then evaluated with an MTT assay, 3H-thymidine incorporation assay, and PI staining. We found that HFE stimulated the proliferation of gamma-ray irradiated immune cells without cytotoxic effects. We also observed that HFE not only decreased DNA damage but also reduced gamma radiation-induced apoptosis of the immune cells. Our results suggest that HFE can protect immune cells from gamma-ray damage and may serve as an effective, non-toxic radioprotective agent.

        This study was carried out to evaluate the restoration effect in the restored Yangjae stream and to draw up an adaptive management plan based on the results. As the result of evaluation on the restoration effect, the restored Yangjae stream was evaluated with low naturalness in both terms of the morphology of the stream and the composition and spatial distribution of vegetation. The diverse functional groups were introduced in the vegetation restoration, but the flooding regime, which is significant in the spatial distribution of riparian vegetation, were not correctly reflected. Exotic species or species that were not ecologically suitable for the location were introduced on the embankment and thus a measure to improve those problems is required. As the ecological principle was not reflected in the restoration plan, the stream was constructed as the double terrace structure. Therefore, the width of the waterway was narrowed further, and the waterfront was not designed to accommodate changes from flooding disturbance, making the micro-topography of the stream simpler and the naturalness lower. The adaptive management plan was prepared to improve those problems, and a plan for creating an ecological network was recommended to enhance the restoration effect.

        IEEE 802.15.4기반 센서 네트워크에서 슬립거부 공격의 취약성 분석 및 탐지 메커니즘

        IEEE 802.15.4[1] has been standardized for the physical layer and MAC layer of LR-PANs(Low Rate-Wireless Personal Area Networks) as a technology for operations with low power on sensor networks. The standardization is applied to the variety of applications in the shortrange wireless communication with limited output and performance, for example wireless sensor or virtual wire, but it includes vulnerabilities for various attacks because of the lack of security researches. In this paper, we analyze the vulnerabilities against the denial of sleep attacks on the MAC layer of IEEE 802.15.4, and propose a detection mechanism against it. In results, we analyzed the possibilities of denial of sleep attacks by the modification of superframe, the modification of CW(Contention Window), the process of channel scan or PAN association, and so on. Moreover, we comprehended that some of these attacks can mount even though the standardized security services such as encryption or authentication are performed. In addition to, we model for denial of sleep attacks by Beacon/Association Request messages, and propose a detection mechanism against them. This detection mechanism utilizes the management table consisting of the interval and node ID of request messages, and signal strength. In simulation results, we can show the effect of attacks, the detection possibility and performance superiorities of proposed mechanism. IEEE 802.15.4 표준기술[1]은 센서 네트워크에서 저전력을 위한 기술로 LR-WPANs(Low Rate-Wireless Personal Area Networks)의 물리 계층과 MAC계층을 규정한다. 이 표준은 무선 센서, 가상 선(Virtual Wire)과 같은 제한된 출력과 성능으로 간단한 단거리 무선 통신을 필요로 하는 폭넓은 응용에 활용되고 있지만 보안 측면의 연구는 현재 미비한 상태로 다양한 공격에 대한 취약점을 내포하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 802.15.4 MAC계층의 슬립거부(Denial of Sleep) 공격에 대한 취약성을 분석하고 이를 탐지하는 메커니즘을 제안한다. 분석 결과, 슈퍼프레임 구간 변경, CW(Contention Window)값 변경, 채널스캔 및 PAN 연합과정 등에서 슬립거부 공격의 가능성을 분석할 수 있었고, 이 과정 중 일부에서는 표준에서 정의한 인증과 암호화 기능이 적용되어도 공격 가능함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 본 논문에서는 분석된 취약점 중에 채널스캔 및 PAN 연합과정에서 Beacon/Association Request 메시지 위조를 통한 슬립거부 공격의 탐지 메커니즘을 제안한다. 제안된 메커니즘은 메시지 요청 간격, 요청 노드 ID, 신호 세기 등을 모니터링하여 공격을 식별하여 탐지한다. QualNet 시뮬레이션 툴을 사용하여 공격의 영향 및 제안된 탐지 메커니즘의 탐지 가능성과 성능의 우수성을 입증할 수 있었다.

        방사선으로 인한 산화적 손상에서 phloroglucinol의 모낭 보호 효과

        When exposed to gamma-rays, hair follicular cells immediately go through apoptosis, which hampers their rapid differentiation essential for the regeneration of hair. Phloroglucinol (PG) is a phenolic compound of Ecklonia cava, brown algae abundant in Jeju island, Korea. Containing plentiful polyphenols, PG is known for its instructive effects by inhibiting apoptosis, scavenging oxygen radicals, and protecting cells against oxidative stress. In this study, we demonstrate that PG rescues radiosensitive hair follicular cells from gamma radiation-induced apoptosis and DNA damage. To identify protective capacity of PG on hair follicles, we irradiated with 8.5 Gy (1.5 Gy/min) of gamma-rays to the whole body of C57BL/6 mice at day 6 after depilation with or without PG. In mice exposed to radiation, the expression of proapoptotic molecule p53 was downregulated in the skin of PG treated group. On immunohistochemical observation of the skin, PG inhibited the immunoreactivity of p53 and cleaved caspase-3. PG treatment protected hair follicular cells from cell death due to gamma-radiation. Our results suggest that PG presents radioprotective effects by inhibiting apoptosis of radiosensitive hair follicular cells and can protect hair follicular cells from gamma-ray induced damage.

        The introduction of Connected and Automated(CAD) technology has a growing interests especially in areas with low demand for transport, where often the local transport services do not connect to peripheral areas for more efficient and convenient mobility services. However, there are few researches on CAD-based mobility services in areas with low demand for transport. Because current researches are mainly focuses on introduction of CAD-based mobility services in area with high demand for transport such as urban and highway. These two areas have different road environments and these differences require different driving technology especially related to Operational Design Domain(ODD). ODD is important factors for introduction of CAD-based mobility services. Therefore, we compare the road environments of areas with low demand for transport and areas with high demand for transport in terms of ODD. In addition, this paper proposes suggest guidance for the introduction of CAD-based mobility services in areas with low demand for transport such as rural and suburban areas.

        This New-Town Project has been proposed to improve the environments of deprived residential areas. This paper investigates the distribution levels of the participating parties' monetary surpluses from New-Town Projects through a case study and tentatively suggests political issues and measures. The methodology followed includes a thorough survey of the precedent theories, including a literature review concerning issues and tasks that have been raised since the development was initiated. A general assessment of the complete project is also provided with a broad perspective of the background settings. Secondly, the case study of Gil-Eum will be the focus for identifying the mechanism for the project's profit distribution levels, then for constructing a set of measuring procedures according to the stages of the project and the participating parties. This set of procedures that has been drawn out from recognizing the system, is applied to the target project and measures the amount of profit gained from each stage of the development. This also aids in collating information about the procedural arguments concerning the financial gains of the operations that have been provided. This project falls under the 'Urban and Residential Environment Improvement Act', and based on the results of each stage, the measurement of the profits of the participating parties is analyzed.

      • The Correlation Between Deltamethrin Exposure and Urinary 3-PBA Concentrations in Rats

        Pyrethroids (PYRs) are a widely used insecticide in agriculture and household area.PYRs caninduce neurotoxic effects in mammalsby disrupting voltage-sensitive sodium channelswhen exposed to overdose.In mammals, PYRs such as deltamethrinis metabolized to 3-phenoxybenzoic acid (3-PBA) in liver that is mainly excreted in urine.Urine is highly useful as a testing matrix because it is easily accessible and can be collected noninvasively. Little studies have reported on the PYRs-dosedependent effects on urinary 3-PBA.This study is designed to identify the correlation of deltamethrinamount exposured orally and dermally to rats and its metabolite(3-PBA) excreted in urine.This study is designed to exposure deltamethrin to rats in a dose-dependent manner and identify the correlation between deltamethrin exposure and its metabolite(3-PBA) in urine. Exposure levels consisted of three concentration of deltamethrin; control (0mg/kgbw), low (0.0705 mg/kgbw), medium (0.705 mg/kgbw) and high(7.05 mg/kgbw) dose. Low concentration of deltamethrin was calculated on the basis of Korea predictive operator exposure model (KoPOEM), indicating the field-realistic exposure to pesticides for farmer when mixing and applying pesticides. Single exposure of deltamethrin to Spraque-Dawley rats were conducted through oral and dermal pathway. Dermal exposure persisted for 6 h, and urine specimens were collected for 24h after exposure of both two pathway. The following procedures including hydrolysis, extraction and derivatization were conducted prior to the analysis of urinary 3-PBA. After acidic hydrolysis for the cleavage of conjugates, the analytes3-PBAwas extracted from urine matrix using n-hexane. Then, 3-PBA was derivatized to volatile estersusing N-tert.-butyldimethylsilyl-N-methyltrifluoroacetamid (MTBSTFA). Separation and detection was carried out using GC/MS. 2-Phenoxybenzoic acid served as internal standard for the quantification of 3-PBA. The limit of quantificationfor all analyteswas 0.98ng/ml urine.In the low-, medium- and high-dose oral deltamethrin groups, the concentrations of urinary 3-PBA were 44±2, 104±37, 943±65 ng/ml urine, respectively, showing good correlation between oral deltamethrin exposure and urinary 3-PBA in rats. This result was similar with those for dermal administration of deltamethrin. Based on these results, therefore, 3-PBA that is a main metabolite of PYRs may be suitable for urinary biomarker of exposure to PYRs.This study can be used as an index that can be predictedto exposuredosage of deltamethrinin the human from detection of urinary 3-PBA excretion.
