Retrospective Analysis of Equine General Anesthesia performed at Korea Racing Authority

This study was conducted to analyze the results of inhalation anesthesia performed at the equine hospitalof Korea Racing Authority (KRA) and to find out the influencing factors on mortality during and/or after inhalationanesthesia. Among 585 cases of anesthesia, orthopedic surgery (410) was performed the most frequently, followedby colic surgery (85) and upper airway surgery (45). Twenty out of 585 horses were either euthanized or died duringand/or after anesthesia. Among those twenty horses, fourteen horses received colic surgery, three received orthopedicsurgery, and three others received upper airway surgery. The major causes of mortality were rupture of intestine incolic surgery and airway obstruction during recovery in upper airway surgery. Myopathy, refracture, laminitis werethe causes of mortality in orthopedic surgery. Consequently, the horses that received colic and upper airway surgeriesshowed significantly high mortality rate rather than horses that received orthopedic surgery (p < 0.01). According tothe results, horses that received colic surgery showed the highest mortality rate from euthanasia due to poor and graveprognosis. To reduce the perioperative mortality of horses, it is recommended to perform perioperative intensive carefor colic surgery and careful monitoring for upper airway surgery during recovery.

The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of young children's attachment to their mothers and daycare teachers on their levels of peer acceptance and interactive play behaviors. The subjects consisted of 187 children aged four years, their mothers, and their teachers recruited from 13 childcare centers in Seoul city and Gyeonggi province. Instruments included Peer Rating Scale(Asher, Singleton, Tinsley, & Hymel, 1979), the Korean version of Pen Interactive Peer Play Scale(Choi & Shin, 2009), the revised version of Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment(Armsden & Greenberg, 1987), and the modified version of Q-set(Waters & Dean, 1985). The data were analysed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression. The results showed that young children's attachment to teachers was significantly related to peer acceptance. In addition, their attachment to both mothers and teachers significantly affected their interactive play behaviors with peers.

This study was conducted to grasp the actual condition of beauty predecessor learning of beauty college students. This is to present basic data to help students who have already entered a beauty-related university think about what they think about prior learning. As a result of the study, there were statistically significant differences according to gender, school grade, and school system. In the case of women, it was found that they had a lot of experience in beauty pre-learning in the case of good school grades and 4-year system. In the future, research should be conducted to see if the pre learning program of beauty has a positive effect on the adjustment of the school life of who are beauty-related college students. As this study limited Busan Metropolitan City, it is revealed that there is a limit to generalization.

국내 제지업계에서는 펄프사용량을 저감시키고 아울러 생산원가를 감소하여 국제 경쟁력을 강화시키기 위한 방안으로 하이 벌크지에 대한 관심이 급증하고 있다. 펄프 사용량을 감소시키기 위한 방안으로 기존의 경우는 PCC의 충전율을 높이거나, 기계펄프를 혼합하여 사용하였다. 그러나 이러한 방법들에 대한 벌크 개선 연구는 이미 거의 이루어졌으며, 그 효과는 제한적이므로 벌크 개선의 새로운 방안에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 현재 이에 대한 대안으로 알칼리 팽윤처리를 통해 펄프 섬유의 직경을 증대시킴으로써 종이의 벌크를 개선시키는 연구가 진행 중에 있다. 이러한 연구의 일환으로 본 연구에서는 4-18%의 고농도 수산화나트륨 용액에 의한 HwKP의 팽윤처리를 실시한 후 수초지를 제조하여 각 조건에 따른 수초지의 벌크 및 강도적 특성 등을 비교분석하였다. 실험결과, 알칼리 팽윤처리에 의해 HwKP 수초지의 벌크 특성이 개선되었으며, 농도가 증가할수록 개선 효과가 높아짐을 확인할 수 있었다. 반면에 알칼리 팽윤처리에 의해 수초지의 강도는 감소하는 결과를 나타냈다.

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are the most common infectious disease and are mainly caused by Escherichia coli. In this review, we introduce the current concept of recurrent UTI (rUTI) based on recent research dealing with pathophysiology of the disease. Although urine is considered sterile, recent studies dealing with microbiome have proposed different ideas. UTIs have typically been considered as extracellular infections, but recently, uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) has been shown to bind and replicate in the urothelium to make intracellular bacterial communities. Binding UPECs might proceed in many ways including extracellular expulsion for clearance or survival and quiescent intracellular reservoirs that can cause rUTI. Moreover, it is also suggested that other important factors, such as lipopolysaccharide and multimicrobial infection, can be the cause of rUTI. This review article reveals a key mechanism of recurrence and discusses what makes a pathway of resolution or recurrence in a host after initial infection.
창의적 문제해결 학습모형과 창의적 사고기법을 적용한 전문계(특성화) 고등학교 메이크업교과 교수-학습 과정안 개발

In This study was intended to develop teaching-learning instruction guidelines refl ecting a creative problemsolving learning model and a creative thinking technique in a make-up curriculum of vocational high schools,and provide a teaching material, in order to improve the ability and attitude necessary to creatively perform a job in the make-up related area. As for the study scope and study method, this researcher applied the creative problem solving of Treffinger, Isaksen and Dorval, brainstorming technique, and lotus blossom technique to the ‘bridal make-up’ section in the highschool make-up curriculum, and then developed and completed teaching-learning instruction guidelines. On the basis of the learning steps of the creative problem solving, the concrete teaching-learning instruction guidelines in the ‘bridal make-up’ section are presented as follows. In the understanding step of a problem, brainstorming technique was applied to understand the characteristics of a bride. In doing so, learners were allowed to fi gure out various characteristics of a bride and learn the ability to deal with the bridal make-up. In the planning step to create an idea and take action, learners were allowed to improve their creative ability to fi nd proper solutions and deal with problems according to the circumstance,going beyond the cramming system of education to learn the basic techniques of bridal make-up. Academically,this study is sure to be meaningful in the point that the teaching-learning instruction guidelines developed in this study and its relevant learning material meet the purpose of the 2007 revised curriculum focusing on selfdetermination and creativity, and greatly reflect the objective of the make-up course proposed in the 2007revised curriculum, which is to improve the ability and attitude of learners in order to creatively perform a job in the make-up related area.
