        Taguchi-RSM 통합모델 제시

        Taguchi defined a good quality as ‘A correspondence of product characteristic’s expected value to the objective value satisfying the minimum variance condition.’ For his good quality, he suggested Taguchi Method which is called Robust design which is irrelevant to the effect of these noise factors. Taguchi Method which has many success examples and which is used by many manufacturing industry. But Optimal solution of Taguchi Method is one among the experiments which is not optimal area of experiment point. On the other hand, Response Surface Method (RSM) which has advantage to find optimal solution area experiments points by approximate polynomial regression. But Optimal of RSM is depended on initial point and RSM can not use many factors because of a great many experiment. In this paper, we combine the Taguchi Method and the Response Surface Method with each advantage which is called Taguchi-RSM. Taguchi-RSM has two step, first step to find first solution by Taguchi Method, second step to find optimal solution by RSM with initial point as first step solution. We give example using catapults.

        Multi-objective Design Optimization of the DPMSM Using RSM, Taguchi Method, and Improved Taguchi Method

        Three methods i.e. Response surface, Taguchi, and improved Taguchi are used for multi-objective design optimization of the drilling permanent magnet synchronous motor (DPMSM) in this study. The optimization objectives are determined according to the performance requirements of the DPMSM aiming to maximize efciency and minimize the torque ripple coefcient. 4 Of 8 electromagnetic parameters were screened as signifcant factors by factorial experiment. The response surface approach uses data from fnite element analysis to ft a polynomial model between objectives and factors. The particle swarm optimization with constrict factor (PSOCF) algorithm is used for determining the Pareto frontier. In the Taguchi method, the efects of the noise factors on the optimization objective are considered. The combinations of signifcant factor levels for diferent objectives obtained from orthogonal experiments were fused into an optimal combination based on the infuence proportion of factors. In the improved Taguchi method, the optimization objectives are fused into multiple performance characteristic indexes (MPCI) based on fuzzy inference. The MPCI is optimized by the Taguchi method. Then the sequential experiments are used to increase the range and efectiveness of the optimization. The characteristics and the optimization results of the three methods were compared and the improved Taguchi method was verifed based on a test of the prototype motor.

        Determination of the minute range for RSM to select the optimum cutting conditions during turning on CNC lathe

        Taguchi method and RSM (response surface method) are two of the most well known DOE (design of experiment) techniques. The levels of parameters are recommended to be taken far apart in the Taguchi method in order to cover a wide region to increase the chance of capturing nonlinearity of the relationship between the control and control factors. On the contrary, as long as the optimum is located within the region, RSM needs it to be as small as possible to identify the exact optimum. In this study, the Taguchi method is used to determine the rough region first, followed by RSM technique to determine the exact optimum value during turning on a CNC lathe. A new region reducing algorithm is introduced to narrow down the region of the Taguchi method for RSM. To achieve the goal, the result from the Taguchi method is fed to train the artificial neural network (ANN), whose optimum value is used to drive the region reducing algorithm. The proposed algorithm is tested under different cutting condition with different insert and work material. Data located in the literature is also used to inspect the adequacy of the region reducing algorithm. Both results show that the introduced algorithm has a good region reducing capability. In a separated experiment, it is shown that the obtained cutting condition from RSM gives a better result than that from the Taguchi method.

        Application of Taguchi method to satellite image fusion for object-oriented mapping of Barchan dunes

        In this study, a wavelet-based method and some standard fusion methods were performed on IRS Panchromatic and multi-spectral images to benefit from its spatial and spectral advantages simultaneously. Selection of the best fusion parameters using a trial and error approach is often very time-consuming. So the best wavelet-based fusion parameters were determined using optimization Taguchi method and the importance degree of these parameters in wavelet-based image fusion efficiency were figured out. As a preliminary result, image fusion with Db4 as the wavelet type in which images were decomposed in level 4 with the Maximum and Mean functions as fusion methods for approximations and details is the best wavelet-based fusion method. The method has been compared with several standard fusion techniques according to spectral and spatial characteristics of participating bands. The results indicate that the wavelet based method presents a better spectral performance than the standard ones (R = 0.96), but PCA fusion method has a better spatial performance (RMSE = 1.06). This study also indicates that Taguchi method can be used accurately in order to optimize the performance of wavelet-based image fusion and determine the importance degree of parameters used in this method. Finally, a pixel-based and an object-oriented classification procedure have been employed to delineate barchan dunes using the fused images. The results show that object-oriented approach outperforms pixel-based approach in classifying barchan dunes (Kappa = 0.73 for pixel-based and Kappa = 0.87 for object-oriented). It is also demonstrated that the wavelet-based fused images are better inputs for classification processes than the others.

        다구찌 기법을 적용한 강의만족도 향상 사례 연구

        Purpose: This article introduces a case study of using Taguchi Method to improve lecture satisfaction. Developed by Taguchi Genichi, this method has its strength in finding the control factor that is robust against noise factor. Finding the condition for such control factor has an effect of reducing the dispersion of the Lecture satisfaction. Methods: There are various factors in university classrooms. The factors which influenced the Lecture Satisfaction are analyzed by control factors and noise factors, control factors which is controllable are lecture completeness and thoroughly test the degree of supervision and noise factors which is not controllable is degree of physical and psychological Lecturer tired, then the experiment is conducted as guided by Taguchi`s experimental design, one semester are experimented by eight professor with 2 classes, after discussion of the results the optimal lecture condition is suggested. Results: To improve Lecture Satisfaction under noise factor of physical and psychological Lecturer tired, optimal condition are that lecture completeness have scenario note during lecture and thoroughly test the degree of supervision have two proctors during test. Conclusion: In this paper, we have succession case by applying Taguchi methods in Lecture Satisfaction. We can apply to improve service by applying the Taguchi methods. In the future we hope to have many succession cases.

        호감도 함수 기반 다특성 강건설계 최적화 기법

        Taguchi method is one of the most popular approaches for design optimization such that performance characteristics become robust to uncontrollable noise variables. However, most previous Taguchi method applications have addressed a single-characteristic problem. Problems with multiple characteristics are more common in practice. The multi-criteria decision making(MCDM) problem is to select the optimal one among multiple alternatives by integrating a number of criteria that may conflict with each other. Representative MCDM methods include TOPSIS(Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution), GRA(Grey Relational Analysis), PCA(Principal Component Analysis), fuzzy logic system, and so on. Therefore, numerous approaches have been conducted to deal with the multi-characteristic design problem by combining original Taguchi method and MCDM methods. In the MCDM problem, multiple criteria generally have different measurement units, which means that there may be a large difference in the physical value of the criteria and ultimately makes it difficult to integrate the measurements for the criteria. Therefore, the normalization technique is usually utilized to convert different units of criteria into one identical unit. There are four normalization techniques commonly used in MCDM problems, including vector normalization, linear scale trans- formation(max-min, max, or sum). However, the normalization techniques have several shortcomings and do not adequately in- corporate the practical matters. For example, if certain alternative has maximum value of data for certain criterion, this alternative is considered as the solution in original process. However, if the maximum value of data does not satisfy the required degree of fulfillment of designer or customer, the alternative may not be considered as the solution. To solve this problem, this paper employs the desirability function that has been proposed in our previous research. The desirability function uses upper limit and lower limit in normalization process. The threshold points for establishing upper or lower limits let us know what degree of fulfillment of designer or customer is. This paper proposes a new design optimization technique for multi-characteristic design problem by integrating the Taguchi method and our desirability functions. Finally, the proposed technique is able to obtain the optimal solution that is robust to multi-characteristic performances.

        Taguchi 실험계획법을 이용한 경혈점의 피부전기특성 최적화조건 선정: A Pilot Study

        Objectives: The objective of the current study is to optimize an acupoint electrical property measurement system by using the procedures and strengths of the Taguchi method. Methods: Taguchi method was applied in the optimization of the acupoint electrical property measurement system, as in the following steps: (1) determine evaluation index; (2) execute the 1st gage R&R; (3) identify controllable and uncontrollable factors; (4) design Taguchi crossed array Layout; (5) execute experiments according to trial conditions; (6) analyze testing results; (7) determine optimum run; (8) execute the 2nd gage R&R; (9) confirm optimum run. Results: The results showed that electrodes with Larger diameter and efferent electric current, with music played, can produce the Larger different electrical conductivity between the acupoints and the non-acupoints under various conditions. Taguchi process optimization improved repeatability and reproducibility of the acupoint electrical property measurement system. Conclusions: In the optimized condition, repeatability and reproducibility of the acupoint electrical property measurement system was acceptable.

      • Estimation of submerged-arc welding design parameters using Taguchi method and fuzzy logic

        <P>Fuzzy logic with the Taguchi method is proposed for estimating submerged-arc welding design parameters. Design of experiments based on the submerged-arc welding simulation is applied to the proposed approach. The finite element analysis of a steel plate is carried out to simulate the submerged-arc welding process using thermomechanical and temperature-dependent material properties. Welding simulation results on thermal–mechanical coupled physical phenomena are compared with welding test. The proposed fuzzy model is generated with triangle membership functions and fuzzy if–then rules using training data obtained from design of experiments and the Taguchi method. The objective of the present study is to develop a Taguchi method-based fuzzy model to effectively approximate the optimized arc weld parameters. To validate the fuzzy model, an approximate model based on response surface method is generated from the Taguchi design data, and then the results are reviewed by the outcomes obtained from the fuzzy model. This proposed study facilitates a quantitative decision of weld factors such as speed and output of weld that are generally expressed by qualitative linguistic terms in the welding process.</P>

      • IrO₂-RuO₂피막의 내식성 향상에 관한 연구

        Dip-coating법으로 전도성 코팅층인 IrO2-RuO2 막을 α-Ti기판 위에 피복 시키는데, 이 코팅층의 내식성 향상을 위해서 변수로 중간층 삽입, 열처리 온도(400℃, 450℃, 500℃), 열처리시 주입가스량(3, 5, 7sccm) 열처리 시간(60, 90, 120min)등으로 설정하였고, 각각의 변수를 3가지로 변화시켜 실험하였다. 중간층 피막의 재료로는 TiO2이며, 제조방법은 sputtering법과 plasma spray법으로 미세구조를 달리하여 기판위에 피복시켰다. 그러나 변수가 너무 많아 Taguchi method를 도입하여 4가지 변수의 영향을 알아보았다. 이러한 변수를 조합하여 실험한 결과 IrO2-RuO2 피막 제조시 기판위에 중간층을 plasma spray법으로 제조하고, 열처리 온도 450℃, 주입가스량 3sccm, 열처리 시간을 120분으로 하였을 때 전도성코팅층인(활성화 코팅층) IrO2-RuO2 피막의 내식성 향상에 있어 가장 우수하게 나타났다. Recently the study of IrO2-RuO2 film have been done in the cathode protection field. The film is used to protect efficiently the construction, bridge, ship, underground pipe from the corrosion environment. Generally, the structure of IrO2-RuO2 film is tetragonal rutile structure and the films have low specific resistance, non self-diffusion in the thermal condition and high corrosion resistance. The purpose of this investigation was finding optimal process condition to improve on the corrosion resistance of the IrO2-RuO2 film through the Taguchi method (the Taguchi method is a way of finding optimal process conditions by orthogonal table of variability) The Taguchi method's condition was justified A(non-bond coating, TiO2 bond coating by plasma spray or sputtering), B(heating temp. 400℃, 450℃, 500℃), C(air flow rate. 3, 5, 7sccm), D(heating time. 60, 90, 120min) in the study. Finally, the optimal process condition of IrO2-RuO2 film appeared with TiO2 bond coating by plasma spray, 450℃ , 3sccm, 120min.

        다구치 기법을 이용한 디젤 기관 시뮬레이션의 최적화에 관한 연구

        To simulate engines effectively, one needs to establish a model that reflects the thermo-fluid behavior of each component of a given engine properly, and also select appropriate empirical constants that will be included in each model. In the early stages of engine development, there are many cases in which it becomes impossible to derive the included constants in an experiment. Conventionally, researchers prepare for every possible combination of constants, and perform calculations with an immense amount of time and resources. By using the Taguchi method, we aimed to identify a procedure that allows for an easier determination of constants for a maritime CI engine. First, by designating a fixed range for each constant and using an orthogonal arrangement table, the authors applied the single-step search method that performs a comprehensive search of all combinations that meet the required cylinder peak pressure and brake mean effective pressure. Next, the multi-step search method was tested by performing a stepwise search on the combinations of constants. By comparing the results between the conventional method and the Taguchi method, we were able to verify the validity and the efficiency of the Taguchi method. Lastly, by performing a multi-step search on constants outside the given range, we found combinations that yielded even better results than those derived from the aforementioned methods.
