Boundary Conduction Mode (BCM) and Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM) control strategies are widely used for the photovoltaic micro-inverter. For the interleaved flyback micro-inverter, BCM and DCM control strategies are investigated concentrating on the loss analysis under different load condition. The dominant losses with heavy load include the conduction loss of the MOSFETs and diodes, and the core loss and copper loss of the transformer, while the dominant losses with light load include the driving loss, turn-off loss of the MOSFETs and the transformer core loss. Based on the loss analysis, a new Multi-mode control strategy combing the two-phase DCM, one-phase DCM and phase skipping mode control is proposed to improve the efficiency in wide load range without increasing the cost or complexity of the design by reducing the dominant losses depending on the load current. A distributed system prototype with two micro-inverters in parallel has been built and tested. The experimental results verified the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Sandy mudstones of various sedimentary ages are deposited in the Dongsheng Coalfield in China. Studying the tensile mechanical properties of these sandy mudstones would provide a reference for underground construction in this area. Four sets of sandy mudstones with different sedimentary ages from Dongsheng Coalfield in China were selected as the research objects. First, the mineral composition and microstructure of the 4 sets of Brazilian disc specimens were obtained by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope. With the increase of sedimentary age, the microstructure of sandy mudstone becomes denser. Then the deformation and acoustic emission (AE) characteristics of the specimens during the Brazilian tests were observed. The indirect tensile strength, peak strain, total strain and pre-peak energy accumulation of sandy mudstones showed an approximate increasing trend with sedimentary age increasing. AE hit rate of the specimens with longer sedimentary age was higher, and the AE signals of these specimens with longer sedimentary age were released more severely after the peak tensile strength. The influence of sedimentary age on the properties of sandy mudstones was discussed from three aspects: the main mineral components, the geostress environment of sandy mudstone, microscopic morphology and granular structure.

The network switches and routers require both highspeedand large-capacity packet buffers. However, existing packetbuffer architectures have the problems of speed scaling and flownumber scaling limitations. To address the two problems simultaneously, this paper proposes a parallel hybrid SRAM/DRAMarchitecture for per-flow buffering in high-speed switches androuters. Tail SRAM and head SRAM are used to apply per-flowbuffering for packet aggregation, so that the middle DRAM is accessedin a larger granularity and the DRAM’s bandwidth utilizationis improved. To mitigate the flow number scaling limitation,a dynamic memory allocation with hard timeout (DMA-HT) memorymanagement algorithm is designed. The key idea of DMA-HTis that the memory space is dynamically allocated for the newly arrivedflows, and a hard timeout is assigned for each queue. Aftera specific period of time, the memory space is freed, so that theSRAM space is efficiently utilized by the most recently active flows. A queuing system is used to model the proposed method, and theoreticalanalysis is performed to optimize the timeout value. Withthe derived formulas, multiple performance parameters are quantitativelyanalyzed, and the optimal timeout can be obtained. Bothnumerical results and simulations show that the proposed architecturecan and reduce packet loss rate and average delay significantlycompared with previous solutions with the same SRAM capacity.

Hydrogen evolution of inorganic photocatalysts is currently a hot research topic. In order to preparehighly efficient catalysts for hydrogen evolution, p-n type heterojunctions were successfully constructedby closely combining p-type Cu2O and n-type NiCo-LDH with opposite electrical properties by a simpleelectrostatic self-assembly. In addition, because the positions of the two single catalysts NiCo-LDH andCu2O Fermi levels are dissimilar from those of traditional p-n heterojunctions, the extremely high movementof Fermi levels forms a strong built-in electric field, which powerfully prevents the gradient diffusionof charge and facilitates the migration of intrinsic photocarriers. Furthermore, the flower clusterNiCo-LDH is composed of two-dimensional thin sheet structure, which has a large specific surface areaand can prevent Cu2O agglomeration. Under the condition of using triethanolamine solution and eosinY (EY) respectively as sacrifice reagent reducing agent and photosensitizer, the composite catalyst hasreached 18332 lmolg1 in 5 h, which was increased by 8.5 times compared to the pure Cu2O. Thisresearch provides an innovative strategy to construct a heterojunction between a metal double-layerhydroxide and a non-noble metal oxide to realize an effective photocatalytic hydrogen production.

Leptin receptor (OBR) is a member of the class I cytokine receptor family. It signals mainly via the JAK/STAT pathway and plays an important role in regulating body energy storage and metabolism. This study was designed to investigate the effects of the OBR gene on chicken growth and body composition. Broiler lines selected divergently for or against abdominal fat were used. Primers for the exon9-region in the OBR gene were designed using chicken genomic sequences from the public genome domain. A C/A single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) was found and its three genotypes (AA, AB and BB) were identified in this population. The results showed that the OBR polymorphism was associated with fatness traits, such as abdominal fat weight and abdominal fat percentage. This research suggests that OBR or a linked gene has effect on fat deposition in the chicken.

The internet is playing an increasingly crucial role inboth personal and business activities. In addition, with the emergenceof real-time, delay sensitive and mission-critical applications, stringent network availability requirement is put forward for internetservice providers (ISPs). However, commonly deployed intradomainlink-state routing protocols react to link failures by globallyexchanging link state advertisements and recalculating routingtable, inevitably causing significant forwarding discontinuityafter a failure. Therefore, the loop-free criterion (LFC) approachhas been widely deployed by many ISPs for coping with the singlenetwork component failure scenario in large internet backbones. The success of LFC lies in its inherent simplicity, but this comesat the expense of letting certain failure scenarios go unprotected. To achieve full failure coverage with LFC without incurring significantextra overhead, we propose a novel link protection scheme, hybrid link protection (HLP), to achieve failure resilient routing. Compared to previous schemes, HLP ensures high network availabilityin a more efficient way. HLP is implemented in two stages. Stage one provides an efficient LFC based method (MNP-e). Thecomplexity of the algorithm is less than that of Dijkstra’s algorithmand can provide the similar network availability with LFC. Stage two provides backup path protection (BPP) based on MNP-e,where only a minimum number of links need to be protected, usingspecial paths and packet headers, to meet the network availabilityrequirement. We evaluate these algorithms in a wide spread ofrelevant topologies, both real and synthetic, and the results revealthat HLP can achieve high network availability without introducingconspicuous overhead. HLP not only needs around 10% time ofthat of full protection, but also provides full protection capabilitiesthat full protection provide.

Rhododendron molle G. Don, an endemic species of the Ericaceae family, possesses valuable medicinal and horticultural values. In this research, R. molle cp genome proved to be a typical quadripartite structure with the length of 200,878 bp. In particular, the lengths of large single-copy region (LSC), small single-copy region (SSC), and inverted repeat regions (IR) were 198,019 bp, 629 bp, and 1117 bp, respectively. Among the 149 unique genes, 97 were protein-coding genes, 44 were tRNA genes, and 8 were rRNA genes, respectively. Leucine was the most representative amino acid (10.663%), while Cysteine was the lowest representative (1.178%). A set of 30 codons showed obvious codon usage bias, while 29 were A/U-ending codons. Six gene regions showed high levels of nucleotide diversity (Pi > 0.02). Totally, 273 SSRs were identified. Maximum-likelihood (ML) phylogenetic analysis revealed that R. molle was relatively closed to the R. pulchrum and R. delavayi. High similarity was detected among Ericaceae species, and the coding regions were more conserved than the non-coding regions. Expansion and contraction detected in IR region could be the main length variation in R. molle and related Ericaceae species. This research will supply rich genetic resource for R. molle and related species of Ericaceae.
