      • Virtual Laboratory for Simulation of Urban Landuse Change Through Coupling Cellular Automation with GIS

        The functionality of spatio-temporal analysis and modeling is a drive for Geographical Information Systems (GIS) to further applications in various applied fields and Digital Earth plan. However, currently commercial GIS systems lack those capabilities for spatio-temporal. distribution, prediction, and simulation of spatio-temporal data. So more effective and powerful modeling methods need to be developed. Cellular Automata Model (CA) provides GIS with a bottom-to-top spatio-temporal modeling framework, which is composed of a fourfold: cells, states, neighbors and rules. The simplicity and flexibility make CA able to simulate a variety of behaviors of complex systems, such as urban land use evolution. By expanding CA model to spatial domain and integrating CA with GIS, a new model (SUDS) for simulating urban land use evolution was established. To take Baotou City as a case study, this model was used to simulate the evolution of urban expansion and sustainable land use. This initial time is 1992 when land use data were acquired by aerial photography. The change data collected by differential GPS are used for model calibration. The appropriate extents of Baotou City development in 1998, 2005 and 2012 are simulated. The result of 1998 is consistent with the surveyed data with GPS. Thus, the established model can be used as a virtual laboratory for decision support in urban planning and land policy-making.

      • Study on the Dynamic Development of Folk Custom Sports and Inheritance Innovation in Heilongjiang Province

        Folk cultural resources is an important part of the Chinese traditional culture, it includes not only the traditional sports activities, but also new formation of folk sports. At the same time, the development of network technology promote the education reform of college physical teaching, sports course teaching shows the trend of diversification. In this paper, we first analyze the characteristics of Heilongjiang folk sports, and then propose cultural characteristics, geographical features and creativity of folk sports. On this basis, we studied the development of folk sports curriculum resources by using network platform. The result shows that more than 48.5% teacher know well of folk sports, more than 61.3% teacher think it is necessary to carry out the folk sports. Overall, the development of folk sports is not only a way of entertainment, but also a way of folk cultural heritage.

        Novel Nucleotide Variations, Haplotypes Structure and Associations with Growth Related Traits of Goat AT Motif-Binding Factor (ATBF1) Gene

        The AT motif-binding factor (ATBF1) not only interacts with protein inhibitor of activated signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) (PIAS3) to suppress STAT3 signaling regulating embryo early development and cell differentiation, but is required for early activation of the pituitary specific transcription factor 1 (Pit1) gene (also known as POU1F1) critically affecting mammalian growth and development. The goal of this study was to detect novel nucleotide variations and haplotypes structure of the ATBF1 gene, as well as to test their associations with growth-related traits in goats. Herein, a total of seven novel single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) (SNP 1-7) within this gene were found in two well-known Chinese native goat breeds. Haplotypes structure analysis demonstrated that there were four haplotypes in Hainan black goat while seventeen haplotypes in Xinong Saanen dairy goat, and both breeds only shared one haplotype (hap1). Association testing revealed that the SNP2, SNP5, SNP6, and SNP7 loci were also found to significantly associate with growth-related traits in goats, respectively. Moreover, one diplotype in Xinong Saanen dairy goats significantly linked to growth related traits. These preliminary findings not only would extend the spectrum of genetic variations of the goat ATBF1 gene, but also would contribute to implementing marker-assisted selection in genetics and breeding in goats.

        Reducing higher alcohols by nitrogen compensation during fermentation of Chinese rice wine

        Excessive amount of higher alcohols in alcoholicbeverages causes unwell and side-effect for consumersalthough adequate consumption offers joy and pleasure. Therefore, reducing higher alcohols in alcoholic beveragesis necessary. We used nitrogen compensation to reducehigher alcohols with Chinese rice wine as an experimentalmodel. Higher alcohols including isobutyl alcohols, isoamylalcohols, and b-phenethyl alcohols were significantlydecreased by 19.27, 23.03 and 19.43%, respectively, when200 mg/L (NH4)2HPO4, 5% (w/v) yeast, and 11% wheatKoji were added to fermentation broth. Meanwhile,important quality parameters remained unchanged includingfree amino acids, organic acids, biogenic amines, andesters. The expression of glutamate dehydrogenase 1 gene(GDH1) and glutamine synthetase gene (GLN1) was significantlyenhanced, 26.9- and 1.9-folds respectively. Theseresults suggest that ammonium compensation could effectivelydecrease higher alcohols in Chinese rice wine byactivating glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH) pathway inammonium assimilation.

        Variation of resistance and susceptibility in wheat cultivars to different populations of Rhopalosiphum padi (Hemiptera: Aphididae) in China

        The bird cherry-oat aphid, Rhopalosiphumpadi (L.) (Hemiptera: Aphididae), is an important pest insect ofwheat, Triticum aestivum (L.), in China. The susceptibility and resistance of wheat cultivars to different populations of R. padi have been rarely reported. In the current study, eight R. padi populations were collected from different provinces of China, the resistance or susceptibility of six wheat cultivars (Emai 596, Emai 18, Emai 251, Zhengmai 98, Xanthus and 35A9B) to these eight populations was tested by the ratio of aphid abundance according the standard method previously reported. The results showed that R. padi populations from Lanzhou of Gansu Province and Taian of Shandong Province showed similar pattern of aphid-host reactions among the six wheat cultivars. Populations from Nanyang of Henan Province and Baicheng of Jilin Province shared a different pattern of reaction. The respective populations from Xianyang of Shaaxi Privince, Beibei of Chongqing Province, Hongtong of Shanxi Province and Baoding of Hebei Province showed unique resistance/susceptible patterns of aphid-host reactions from other populations. The variability in the response to wheat cultivars to R. padi indicated the existence of biotypic variation in populations. The weight of adult aphid survivors of different populations varied on six wheat cultivars, but did not correspond well to the susceptibility and resistance of wheat cultivars. Our findings are important for the sustainable control of R. padi in different wheat growing regions of China.

        Temperature Dependence of the Optical Transmission of a Magnetic Fluid with an Applied Magnetic Field

We observed that the optical transmission could be tuned by varying the ambient temperature of the magnetic fluid thin film. The design and the experimental results are also analyzed.         External Fixation Using Femoral Less Invasive Stabilization System Plate in Tibial Proximal Metaphyseal Fracture

        Background: The locking plates are often used for internal fixation of closed tibial fractures. The use of a locking plate as an externalfixator is still controversial, particularly for closed fractures. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the results of externalfixation using the femoral less invasive stabilization system (LISS) plate in proximal metaphyseal fractures of the tibia. Methods: We prospectively evaluated 35 patients (26 males and 9 females) with a mean age of 42 years (range, 21 to 62 years)who presented with fresh tibial proximal metaphyseal fractures. According to the AO Foundation and Orthopaedic Trauma Association(AO/OTA) classification, the fractures were identified as type 41-A2 in 18 cases and type 41-A3 in 17 cases, including 25closed fractures and 10 open fractures. The femoral LISS plate was used to fix these fractures, which was placed on the anteromedialaspect of the tibia as an external fixator. The mean follow-up period was 18 months (range, 13 to 22 months). Results: All fractures healed in a mean time of 14 weeks (range, 10 to 20 weeks). There was no case of nonunion, deep infection,and loosening of screws and plates. One month after the appearance of cortical bridging on biplanar radiographs, the locking platewas removed within 3 minutes in the clinic without any difficulty. According to the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) knee scoringsystem and American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) ankle scoring system, the mean HSS score was 91 (range, 85 to100) and 98 (range, 93 to 100), and the mean AOFAS score was 94 (range, 90 to 100) and 98 (range, 95 to 100) at 4 weeks postoperativelyand final follow-up, respectively. Conclusions: For proximal metaphyseal fracture of the tibia, external fixation using the femoral LISS plate is a safe and reliabletechnique with minimal complications and excellent outcomes. Its advantages include ease of performing the surgery, use of a lessinvasive technique, and convenience of plate removal after fracture healing.

        本文提出了一种高校心理健康四轮驱动工作模式的构建探究,旨在通过全面、系统的方法来提升大学生的心理健康水平。该模式由心理健康教育模块、心理健康服务模块、组织结构和危机干预模块以及旨在高校心理健康工作中工作人员本身的内涵提升与专业成长模块组成。首先阐述了当前高校心理健康工作的目标,然后介绍了四轮驱动模式的构建思路和具体实施方法,并以泉州海洋职业学院的实际案例展示了该模式的可行性和效果。该模式的推广应用有助于提高高校心理健康工作的效果和质量,促进大学生身心健康全面发展。 This article proposes a study on the construction of a four-wheel drive working model for mental health in colleges and universities, aiming to improve the mental health level of college students through a comprehensive and systematic approach. This model consists of a mental health education module, a mental health service module, an organizational structure and crisis intervention module, and a module aimed at improving the connotation and professional growth of the staff working in mental health work in colleges and universities. First, it elaborates on the current goals of mental health work in colleges and universities, and then introduces the construction ideas and specific implementation methods of the four-wheel drive model, and uses the actual case of Quanzhou Marine Vocational College to demonstrate the feasibility and effect of this model. The promotion and application of this model will help improve the effectiveness and quality of mental health work in colleges and universities, and promote the overall development of college students’ physical and mental health.
