진도-제주도 해역에 서식하는 저서다모류의 분포양상과 건강도 지수를 이용한 저서환경 평가

본 연구에서는 저서다모류 군집의 구조와 생태학적 건강도를 파악하기 위하여 진도 해역과 제주도 해역에서 각 7개씩 총 14개 정점에서 2010년 8월부터 2012년 9월까지 총 5회에 걸쳐 반기별로 저서다모류 군집조사를 실시하였다. 저서다모류의 서식기질로서 퇴적물의 입도조성을 분석한 결과 진도 해역은 비교적 혼합질 퇴적상을 나타낸 반면 제주도 해역은 모래함량이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 총 14개 정점에서 출현한 저서다모류는 68종, 231 ind./㎡ 서식밀도를 나타내었으며, 진도 해역에서는 61종, 167 ind./㎡, 제주도 해역에서는 62종, 295 ind./㎡로 나타났다. 시기별로 출현종에는 차이가 있었으며 제주도 해역에서 전반적으로 종수 및 서식밀도가 높게 나타났다. 출현 서식밀도의 자료를 이용하여 우점종을 선정한 결과 진도 해역은 Heteromastus filiformis, Ampharete arctica, Prionospio sp., Sigambra tentaculata, Thelepus sp. 순으로 나타났다. 반면 제주도 해역은 Amphicteis gunneri, Ampharete arctica, Prionospio sp., Spiochaetopterus costarum, Heteromastus filiformis 순으로 나타났다. 종조성과 정점 간 유사도에 근거한 집괴분석 결과 정점 5와 6을 제외한 정점에서 진도 해역과 제주도 해역으로 확연히 구분되었다. AMBI 분석 결과 1.2-3.4의 결과를 보였으며, 모든 정점에서 Ⅴ등급 저서다모류는 출현하지 않았다. 따라서 본 연구에서 진도 해역과 제주도 해역은 지리적 위치 및 퇴적상에 따라 저서다모류 군집이 분포하는 것으로 나타났으며, 전반적으로 시공간적인 큰 변동 없이 비교적 안정된 군집을 형성하고 있음을 시사하였다. Assessment of benthic quality status was implemented along the subtidal areas of Jindo and Jejudo to understand faunal structure of polychaete assemblages and ecological quality of the benthic environment. Sediment analysis was characterized by well sorted of both mud and sand in Jindo, and a little higher sand in Jejudo instead. A total of 68 polychaete species were found at 14 sampling stations with a mean density of 231 inds./㎡, and 61 species, 167 inds./㎡ and 62 species, 295 inds./㎡ in Jindo areas and Jejudo areas. Dominant species found in Jindo areas were Heteromastus filiformis, Ampharete arctica, Prionospio sp., Sigambra tentaculata, Thelepus sp. and Amphicteis gunneri, Ampharete arctica, Prionospio sp., Spiochaetopterus costarum, Heteromastus filiformis in Jejudo. With a help of cluster analysis, it was found that the sampling stations showed distinctive pattern of the distribution pattern and benthic quality status in Jindo and Jejudo except sampling station numbers 5 and 6, respectively. AMBI analysis the results were 1.2-3.4, grade Ⅴ benthic polychaetes did not appear. It was evident that both Jindo and Jejudo had different sedimentary characteristics as well as distribution pattern of polychaete assemblages.

Background/Aims: Enterogastric reflux of bile has been suspected as a risk factor of foregut cancer. Thus, we measured total intragastric bile acid to determine association between duodenogastric reflux and development of intestinal metaplasia known as premalignant gastric mucosal change. Methods: One hundred and three patients with a functional dyspepsia underwent endoscopy. Subsequently, samples of fasting gastric juice were taken from all patients for analysis of total bile acid. With the specimens from 5 sites of the antrum and body, the degree of intestinal metaplasia was evaluated by the update Sydney System and H. pylori infection was evaluated also by Warthin-Starry staining. Results: There was a significant correlation between the total bile acid level and the degree of intestinal metaplasia (r=0.278, p=0.005). Moreover, multiple linear regression test showed that the concentration of total bile acid was one of the independent risk factors for intestinal metaplasia regardless of age and H. pylori infection. Conclusions: These results suggest that intragastric bile acid may affect histologic premalignant changes of the gastric mucosa and thus, duodenogastric reflux may play a role in gastric carcinogenesis. This study surveyed and measured the level and structure of cancer deaths and their trends over time for offering the fundamental data of e cancer prevention and control in Pusan city in the future. Authors conducted the study of descriptive epidemiology using materials derived from the computerized data of total 3,722 certified cancer deaths in Pusan city from January 1 to December 31, 1993 registered on the National Statistical Once, the Republic of Korea. The obtained results were as follows: 1. According to the total registered cases of deaths(16,331 cases) in Pusan city during 1993, cancer(3,722 cases) and cerebrovascular disease(2,118 cases) were the first and second cause of deaths as 23.1% and 16.9%, respectively. These pattern showed the change between cancer (14.7%) and cerebrovascular disease(18.5%) in order of frequency in comparison to 1982. Also, the total number of cancer deaths was increased in comparison to 1982. The rate of death certification by physicians was 87.1% of all registered deaths, which was increased to 6.8% in comparison to 1982(80.3%). 2. Crude death rate and cancer specific death rate was 4.06 per 1,000 populations and 93.8 per 100,000 populations(male:117.8, female:70.0), respectively. The former was similar to that of 1982, but the latter was increased to 1.6 times as that of 1982. 3. Age-adjusted cancer specific death rate by standardization with whole country population was 111.9(male:141.5, female:106.7) per 100,000 populations, higher than not age-adjusted cancer specific death rate(93.8), and the sex difference was statistically significant with male predominance (p<0.05). 4. Cancer specific death rate by age was generally increased with age and most of cancer deaths(male:91.8%, female:88.5%) occurred since 40 years old. 5. The major cancer(cancer specific death rate per 100,000 populations) in male was liver(30.6) followed by stomach(25.6), lung(21.9), and GB and EHBD(5.7), in female stomach(15.7), liver(9.9), lung(7.3), and uterus(6.9). The relative frequency of the leading three cancer among total cancer deaths marked 66.3% in male and 47.l% in female, and decreased in comparison to 1982(male:72.2%, female:54.5%). 6. The total ratio of male to female cancer specific death rate showed 1.68 to 1 with male predominance. And the ratio was above 2.0 in larynx, oral cavity & pharynx, esophagus, liver, lung, bladder cancer and the ratio was $1.0\sim1.9$ in stomach, pancreas, gall bladder and EHBD, brain, rectum and anus cancer, leukemia, but the ratio was reversed in thyroid and colon cancer. In conclusion, cancer was the first cause of deaths. The proportion of lung cancer was increased, that of stomach & uterine cancer was decreased relatively, and liver cancer was constantly higher proportion. In the future, it is necessary to conduct the further investigations on the cancer risk factors considering areal specificity.

In this study, ring-shaped acoustic resonators were proposed to be installed in a silencer to increase the acoustic performance of silencer in the low-frequency range. Evaluation of noise reduction performance of acoustic resonator arrays was carried out by measuring the random-incidence absorption coefficient. It was found that the absorption coefficient of resonator array was measured up to 1 at 125 Hz of 1/3-octave band center frequency. Insertion losses of silencers with ring-shaped acoustic resonator arrays were measured based on ISO 7235. The results were shown that the ring-shaped resonator could increase the insertion loss up to 13 dB without flow, whereas 7 dB when flow speed reached 15 m/s. As increasing the flow speed above 15 m/s, the effect of acoustic resonator decreased due to the effect of nonlinear air damping of the resonator. It was also found that the increment of pressure drop by the presence of resonator arrays was about 9 % at flow speed of 25 m/s.

There are two kinds of hub mechanism on the controllable pitch propeller. One is the collar type and the other is the trunnion type. Pitch variation mechanism of the collar type of CPP is a simpler and cheaper solution, therefore CPP of this type is more applicable for commercial vessels. But the trunnion type of CPP has many advantages compared to the collar type of CPP : There are an ability to install up to 7 blades and a smaller dependency from bolt properties. The blades arrangement of trunnion type does not need bolts and it has a smaller disk factors for the same number of blades compared with the collar type CPP. In this instance, the CPP of trunnion type is an appropriate fit for the naval purposes(explosive shock) and ice breakers.

Is the high speed train with 300㎞/h running speed safe from derailment when it meets the mid or small-size earthquakes? In the present step, it is not so easy to judge whether it’ll be derailed or not during an earthquake. However, we could elevate the running safety of high speed train as making it slow or even stop. The main objective of this study is to make the domestic running regulation and the re-running manual for high speed train with reference to the standards of France, Japan etc. To do so, numerical analysis and experiment will be performed from the next year. In addition, we’ll evaluate possible places of derailment during an earthquake and make a database based on the Geographic Information System to effectively manage them.
