Insulin drug was loading in chitoshan nanospheres using electrospraying method, a pH- and temperature-sensitive biodegradable hydrogel, which is an oligomer serine-poly(lactide)-poly(ethylene glycol)-poly (lactide)-oligomer serine (OS-PLA-PEG-PLA-OS) pentablock copolymer was used as a matrix to containing chitosan–insulin electro sprayed nanospheres (CIN). The properties of the OS-PLA-PEG-PLA-OS pentablock copolymer and the chitosan–insulin nanoparticles such as sol-gel transition, degradation in vitro and in vivo were characterized. The results showed that the chitosan–insulin nanospheres uniformly distributed in the matrix had a reinforcing effect on the mechanical properties and prolonged the degradation time of the hydrogel depot under body conditions. In addition, the cytotoxicity experiment results indicate that the composite could be used as a biomaterial for drug delivery system. The composite solutions accommodating different concentrations of the chitosan–insulin nanospheres were subcutaneously injected into induced diabetic BALB/c mice to study the in vivo insulin-release profile. The result showed that insulin concentrations in blood plasma were maintained at a steady-state level. Furthermore, the bio-properties of the insulin were retained and it showed a blood glucose level reducing effect for more than 60 hours after injection to a streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic mouse model. The results suggested that this injectable pH–temperature sensitive hydrogel containing chitosan– insulin electro sprayed nanosphere composites has promising potential applications for type 1 diabetes treatment.

Switchable Voltage Control of the Magnetic Anisotropy in Heterostructured Nanocomposites of CoFe/NiFe/PZT

Nguyen Thi Minh Hong,Nguyen Ba Doan,Nguyen Huy Tiep,Le Viet Cuong,Bui Nguyen Quoc Trinh,Pham Duc Thang,김동현 한국물리학회 2013 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.63 No.3

In this work, we study the magnetic properties of a CoFe/NiFe/PZT heterostructured nanocompositethat is affected by the strain in the PZT substrate when a voltage in the range from –250to 250 V is applied. An interesting electric-voltage-controlled magnetic anisotropy, with a relativeincrease in magnetization up to above 100%, is observed. This brings a new challenge to operate alow-power-consuming spin electronic device. We also utilize a theoretical model based on interfacecharge-mediated and strain-mediated magnetic-electric coupling to understand the change in themagnetic properties of the investigated material.

Ag-doped graphitic carbon nitride photocatalyst with remarkably enhanced photocatalytic activity towards antibiotic in hospital wastewater under solar light

Nguyen Le Minh Tri,김지태,Bach Long Giang,T.M. Al Tahtamouni,Pham Thi Huong,이창하,Nguyen Minh Viet,Do Quang Trung 한국공업화학회 2019 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.80 No.-

In this study a novel Ag-doped graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) photocatalyst was synthesized and appliedas high efficientmaterial under solarlight towardsemerging antibiotic pollutantin hospital wastewater. Thetetracycline (TC) was chosen as a target pollutant and the content of Ag doping at 3 mmol revealed thehighest photocatalytic degradation efficiency of TC (96.8%) after 120 min under solar light irradiation. Thephotoluminescence and UV–vis analysis confirmed the enhancement of charge separation and transfer inthe graphitic carbon structure after Ag-doping. The removal efficiency of TC using g-C3N4 and Ag-doped g-C3N4 (AgCN) underdark conditions was only 25.6 and 31.8%, respectively. While under solarlight conditions, the removal efficiency of TC increased to 68.3 and 96.8% for g-C3N4 and AgCN, respectively. The reusabilityprocess showed that AgCN displayed extremely high stability after 6 cycles without significant drop inantibiotic degradation efficiency. The application of AgCN was tested for treatment of TC from hospitalwastewater and it showed high removal efficiency of 89.6% within 120 min reaction time. In addition, theintermediatesgeneratedandreductionof total organiccarbon(TOC)duringthephotocatalyticreactionweredetected to support information of possible TC removal mechanism.

Successful Device Closure of a Large Rupture of Sinus of Valsalva in a Patient With Bicuspid Aortic Valve

Nguyen Ly Thi Minh,Nguyen Viet Lan,Nguyen Hieu Lan 아시아심장혈관영상의학회 2022 Cardiovascular Imaging Asia Vol.6 No.2

Sinus of Valsalva aneurysm is a rare entity and can be congenital or acquired. The disease can progress silently until the aneurysm ruptures, finally causing symptoms. Once ruptured, if such an aneurysm is not treated timely, the patient will progress to left heart failure. We discuss a 61-year-old male who presented with increasing dyspnea over 2 months. He underwent uncommon, less invasive interventional treatment and made a full recovery in a brief period. His condition of combined rupture of the sinus of Valsalva and bicuspid aortic valve was very rare.

      • A New Scheme to Predict Erasures for Reed-Solomon Decoder in T-DMB Receiver

Minh Viet Nguyen,Kyungsu Ko,Woonsik Lee,Hwang Soo Lee IEEE 2007 IEEE transactions on broadcasting Vol.53 No.2

<P>In this paper, we introduce a new scheme to improve the performance of the terrestrial - digital multimedia broadcasting (T-DMB) system, which exploits the burst error characteristics at the output of the convolutional decoder and the properties of the Reed-Solomon (RS) decoder to correct more errors by predicting erasures in each RS packet in advance as many as possible before decoding in the RS decoder. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme yields performance gain of around 1 dB at BER of 10-R which can result in the extended coverage area of the T-DMB system.</P>

A facile thermal evaporation route for large-area synthesis of tin oxide nanowires: Characterizations and their use for liquid petroleum gas sensor

        Nguyen Van Hieu,Le Thi Ngoc Loan,Nguyen Duc Khoang,Nguyen Tuan Minh,Do Thanh Viet,Do Cong Minh,Tran Trung,Nguyen Duc Chien 한국물리학회 2010 Current Applied Physics Vol.10 No.2

In this paper, a very simple procedure was presented for the reproducible synthesis of large-area SnO2nanowires (NWs) on a silicon substrate by evaporating Sn powders at temperatures of 700, 750, and 800 ℃. As-obtained SnO2 NWs were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM),transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Raman spectroscopy. They revealed that the morphology of the NWs is affected by growth temperature and the SnO2 NWs are single-crystalline tetragonal. The band gap of the NWs is in the range of 4.2–4.3 eV as determined from UV/visible absorption. The NWs show stable photoluminescence with an emission peak centered at around 620 nm at room-temperature. The sensors fabricated from the SnO2 NWs synthesized at 700 ℃ exhibited good response to LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) at an operating temperature of 400 ℃.

Correlation analysis of size-resolved airborne particulate matter with classified meteorological conditions

        Nguyen, Minh-Viet,Park, Gee-Hyeong,Lee, Byeong-Kyu Springer-Verlag 2017 Meteorology and atmospheric physics Vol.129 No.1

<P>This study analyzed correlations between classified meteorological conditions and size-resolved particulate matter (PM) concentrations over year. Seasonal measurements of airborne PM were conducted on the roof of a university building located in an urban residential area in Ulsan, Korea. A total of 267 daily PM samples were obtained using a nine-stage cascade impactor during the 12-month sampling period (March 2011-March 2012). Among this period, the average PM1.0, PM2.5, PM2.5-10, and PM10 concentrations were the lowest during the summer. The highest and lowest monthly average PM concentrations for all particle size ranges were observed in dry April and humid July, respectively. The PM1.0, PM2.5, PM2.5-10, and PM10 concentrations were negatively correlated (p < 0.01 or 0.05) with humidity level under high humid conditions (> 80 %) and under moderate humidity conditions (50-80 %) only during the winter season. PM concentrations also negatively correlated with precipitation (p < 0.01 or 0.05) under heavy (> 30 mm) and moderate (10-30 mm) rainfall conditions and only under light rainfall (< 10 mm) during the winter season. PM concentrations positively correlated (p < 0.01 or 0.05) with easterly wind speed [strong (> 7 m/s) and moderate (3-7 m/s) wind]. Most PM concentrations correlated positively with ambient temperature, however, only on days with an average temperature above 20 A degrees C. High and moderate temperatures negatively correlated with high and moderate humid conditions, while low and extra low temperatures in winter period showed positive correlation with high and moderate humidity.</P>

Effective Scheduling in Infrastructure-Based Cognitive Radio Networks

Minh-Viet Nguyen,Hwang Soo Lee IEEE 2011 IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON MOBILE COMPUTING Vol.10 No.6

<P>In this paper, we investigate a joint scheduling and power control for an infrastructure-based cognitive radio network (CRN) in coexistence with a cellular primary radio network (PRN). The PRN uses a set of licensed nonoverlapping orthogonal frequency channels for transmission. This set of channels is also accessed in an opportunistic manner by a set of cognitive radio base stations (CR-BSs) to support secondary users (SUs). The problem is formulated to maximize the spectrum utilization of SUs without causing excessive interference to active primary users (PUs) of the PRN. In addition, all the serviced SUs must meet a certain Quality of Service (QoS), such as satisfying a predefined signal to interference noise ratio (SINR). A centralized solution for joint scheduling and power control is derived to make the global accessing decision for all unserved SUs. With the assumption that the knowledge of all subscribers is available, a coordinator of the CRN can use the joint scheduling and power control algorithm to maximize the spectrum utilization of serviced SUs by solving a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) with an NP-hard complexity. To avoid the NP-hard complexity, we propose a suboptimal heuristic greedy algorithm that can be obtained at a much lower complexity based on the coloring interference graph among unserved SUs effected by serviced SUs and active PUs. Its superior performance over the existing algorithms is demonstrated through simulations.</P>
