Tran Minh Trung(Tran Minh Trung),모정훈(Jeonghoon Mo),김성륜(Seong-Lyun Kim),곽재욱(Jaewook Kwak) 한국정보과학회 2004 한국정보과학회 학술발표논문집 Vol.31 No.2Ⅲ

In this paper, we evaluate the outage performance of cooperative transmission in two-dimensional random networks. Firstly, we derive the joint distributions of the source-relay and the relay-destination links. Secondly, the outage probability for the decode-and-forward relaying system is derived when selection combining (SC) is employed at the destination. Finally, we calculate the average outage probability of the system and then attempt to express it by a simple approximate expression. The simulation results are presented to verify the accuracy of the derivations. Similar to deterministic networks, the cooperative transmission in random networks outperforms direct transmission at a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).

The repellent constituents of essential oils from Zanthoxylum armatum (Rutaceae) seed and Zanthoxylum piperitum fruit against female Stomoxys calcitrans were analyzed by gas chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The repellency of two Zanthoxylum essential oils and 11 oil compounds against female S. calcitrans was examined using a skin bioassay. Results were compared with those of the most widely used repellent DEET. Both Z. armatum seed and Z. piperitum fruit oils provided complete and good protection from fly bites for 30 min at 0.4 and 0.2 mg/cm2, respectively. At 0.05 mg/cm2, both oils gave ca 70 and 40% repellency at 30 and 60 min post-treatment, respectively, whereas DEET provided 83 and 73% protection. Of test compounds, cuminaldehyde at 0.05 mg/cm2 gave 92 and 69% repellency at 10 and 30 min post-treatment, respectively, whereas 1,8-cineole, and citronellal provided approx. 76% repellency at 10 min. The Zanthoxylum oils and their constituents, particularly cuminaldehyde, merit further study as potential insect repellents for the protection from humans and domestic animals from biting and nuisance caused by S. calcitrans.
Performance Enhancement of Motion Estimation Using SSE2 Technology
Trung Hieu Tran,Hyo-Moon Cho,Sang-Bock Cho 대한전자공학회 2008 ICEIC:International Conference on Electronics, Inf Vol.1 No.1
Motion estimation is the most computationally intensive part in video processing. Many fast motion estimation algorithms have been proposed to decrease the computational complexity by reducing the number of candidate motion vectors. However, these studies are for fast search algorithms themselves while almost image and video compressions are operated with software based. Therefore, the timing constraints for running these motion estimation algorithms not only challenge for the video codec but also overwhelm for some of processors. In this paper, the performance of motion estimation is enhanced by using Intel's Streaming SIMD Extension 2 (SSE2) technology with Intel Pentium 4 processor.
Cooperative Communication in Multi-hop Wireless Networks
Tran Trung Duy(창 충 두이),Hyung-Yun Kong(공형윤) 대한전기학회 2010 정보 및 제어 심포지엄 논문집 Vol.2010 No.4
In this paper, we propose a novel cooperative communication protocol (NCCP) in multi-hop wireless networks. Due to broadcast nature, the destination can receive the signal from the source or from the relay nodes on the established route. If the destination can not receive correctly the signal, it will request re-transmission(s) from the successful relay(s). Theoretical results are derived and verified by simulation results.

Several isoquinoline alkaloids (1 - 18), which have basic chemical structures as protoberberine and aporphine skeletones, were evaluated for their inhibitory activities on AChE and BuChE. Among them, compounds 3, 4, 6, 8 and 12 showed the potent AchE activity with the IC50 values ranging from 10.2 ? 0.5 mM to 24.5 ? 1.6 mM, meanwhile, compound 14 - 17 exhibited strong inhibitory activity with IC50 values from 2.1 ? 0.2 to 5.5 ? 0.3 mM. Compounds 14 - 17 exhibited selective inhibition for AChE compared with BuChE. The isoquinoline alkaloid possesses aromatic methylenedioxy groups and quaternary nitrogen atoms are crucial for the anti-cholinesterase inhibitory activity.

In this paper, we propose a Cooperative Routing using ARQ-based Transmission (CRARQ) in Mobile Ad-hoc Wireless Sensor Networks (MAWSN). The goals of the CRARQ are to improve both the efficiency of transmission and the reliability of transmission together. The main features and contributions of the proposed CRARQ for supporting these goals are as follows. First, CRARQ uses a reactive concept to construct a route from a source to a destination. Second, CRARQ chooses the most stable relay at each hop along the route by mobility-based strategy. Third, cooperative transmission using the ARQ technique which can improve reliability is used at each hop to send data packets from source to destination. Finally, we present a theoretical analysis model for the proposed CRARQ. The performance evaluation of our protocol is implemented via simulation using Optimized Network Engineering Tool (OPNET) and analysis. The results of both simulation and analysis show that CRARQ achieves the improved packet delivery ratio (PDR) and outage probability.
