We study one-step iteration process to approximate common fixed points of two nonexpansive mappings and prove some convergence theorems in convex metric spaces. Using the so-called condition (A′), the convergence of iteratively defined sequences in a uniformly convex metric space is also obtained.

The study was conducted to determine physicochemical parameters in various physical fractions (linter, hull, kernel, oil and meal) of cottonseed of different varieties (MNH 147, CIM 240, NIAB 78, FH 87, CIM 109, MNH 93, FH 682, GOHAR 87, SLS 1 and B 557). Average components of linter, hull, and kernel in different varieties of cotton were 12.21, 28.24 and 70.42%, respectively. Average percentage of meal and oil was 48.97 and 22.09% in seed, and 69.28 and 30.72% in kernel, respectively. Maximum percentage of meal was recovered from variety CIM 240 and lowest in variety CIM 109. Statistical analysls revealed variety differences (p<0.05) in seed and it's components. Average contents of crude protein, crude fiber and ash was 22.31, 17.74 and 4.27% in seed, 2.85, 56.50 and 2.61% in hull; 32.62, 3.45 and 4.01 % in kernel; 47.15, 5.00 and 5.78% in meal, respectively. Average contents of Ca, p, Mg, K, Na and Cl were 0.09, 0.22, 0.26, 0.65, 0.009 and 0.035% in seed; 0.12, 0.07, 0.09, 0.51, 0.020 and 0.034% in hull and 0.16, 0.59, 0.32, 1.01, 0.03 and 0.07% in meal of different varieties of cotton, respectively. Fe, Zn, Cu and Mn were 141.35, 24.55, 186.50 and 27.12 mg/kg in seed; 158.48, 2.06, 74.60, and 22.17 mg/kg in hulls; and 167.62, 20.30, 185.83 and 20.67 mg/kg in meal, respectively. Significant varietal differences were observed in proximate composition and mineral contents of cottonseeds and derived products. Cottonseeds and their products of varieties FH 87, CIM 109 and MNH 93 showed higher nutrient density while lower was observed in varieties CIM 240, SLS I and FH 682.

Objective This study aims to examine the effect of giving probiotic adjuvant therapy on improving clinical symptoms & IL-6 levels in patients with schizophrenia. Methods This research was a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial conducted at Dadi Psychiatric Hospital, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia in November–December 2021. The sample of the research was patients with schizophrenia undergoing hospitalization who received therapeutic doses of risperidone with a total of 21 samples in each treatment and control group. Research subjects were measured with Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) at baseline, 2nd, 4th, and 6th weeks. The treatment group received one capsule/12 hours/oral of probiotics for six weeks and the control group received 1 capsule/12 hours/oral placebo for 6 weeks. In addition, two measurements of IL-6 using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay were performed in both groups, namely at the beginning of week 0 and the end of the 6th week. Results We found the decrease in the PANSS value which described the improvement in clinical symptoms of the schizophrenic group after receiving therapeutic doses of antipsychotics and probiotic capsules or the treatment group as well as the schizophrenia group receiving therapeutic doses of antipsychotics and placebo capsules or the control group. Conclusion Improvements in clinical symptoms and decreased levels of IL-6 in the group of patients with schizophrenia who received risperidone with probiotic adjuvant therapy were better than in the group of patients with schizophrenia who received risperidone without probiotics as adjuvant therapy.

Necessary conditions for the existence of common xed pointsfor noncommuting mappings satisfying generalized contractive conditionsin the setup of certain metrizable topological vector spaces are obtained. As applications, related results on best approximation are derived. Ourresults extend, generalize and unify various known results in the litera-ture.

The polyvinyl chloride (PVC) based polyvinyl alcohol Sn(IV) tungstate composite membrane was prepared by solution casting method. The sample was characterized by the Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transformed infrared (FTIR) and Thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) studies. The membrane potential of composite membrane for various univalent electrolyte was found to follow the increasing order KCl < NaCl < LiCl. The order of surface charge density for univalent electrolytes solution was found to be LiCl < NaCl < KCl.

The polystyrene based barium phosphate composite membrane was prepared by co-precipitation method. The composite membrane has been characterized on the basis of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transformed infrared (FTIR) and thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) studies. Ion-exchange capacity, water uptake, porosity, thickness and stability studies were also carried out to determine the preliminary ion-exchange properties of the composite membrane. The order of transport number of cation for univalent electrolytes solution was found to be KCl < NaCl < LiCl. The antibacterial activity of composite membrane was investigated against some bacteria.

The polyvinyl chloride (PVC) based carboxymethyl cellulose Ce(IV) molybdophosphate composite membrane are prepared and characterized by the Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transformed infrared (FTIR), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) studies. The inorganic–organic composite membrane was found to be crystalline in nature with consistent arrangement of particles and indicating no sign of visible cracks. The FTIR spectra verify the binding of organic polymer with inorganic component. The membrane was found to be cation-selective. The order of surface charge density for uni-univalent electrolytes solution was found to be KCl > NaCl > LiCl.
