With the increase of sophistication in our daily lives, there is an increased interest in enjoying the arts culture. Due to this phenomenon, the amount of top-tier museums has multiplied, visitors are more aware and have knowledge of the displayed pieces, and the role and training of curators and docents became of great importance. However, there are not enough docents and curators to satisfy the higher demands caused by the sudden increase of museums. In order to address this issue, a docent robot has been designed. This paper will address how the robot will move autonomously throughout the museum and curate museum displays as well as how the robot will interpret and comprehend the visitors’ body language. Supported by the research provided in this paper, docent robots, if placed in museums, will be beneficial for the smooth running of museums.

It is extremely advisable but challenging to develop cathodic catalyst for efficiently catalyzing the oxygenreduction reaction (ORR) in energy storage and conversion system. Nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) co-doped porous carbon (C) materials have been prepared as a non-precious metal catalyst. This synthesis wasachieved through pyrolysis of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, triphenylphosphine, melamine andCoCl2 6H2 O mixture. The resulting material was capable of efficiently charge transfer via the coordinationbond of cobalt (Co) and EDTA, that makes octahedral structure. In addition, redistribution of charge occurreddue to co-doping of the N and P, which is advantageous for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). The as-prepared N and P co-doped mesoporous carbon (NPMPC) was characterized by a high average porosityand ahigh specific surface area. Furthermore, the NPMPC had a positive effect on ORR by allowing triple phases(gas-liquid-solid) to coexist in a wide range. We have successfully fabricated electrochemical catalysts thathave not been reported previously. The electrocatalytic activity of NPMPC-0.6 (E onset:-0.08 V & Ehalf-wave:-0.136 V)for ORR in alkalinemediawasbetterthanPt/C(Eonset:-0.037 V &Ehalf-wave:-0.122 V).Overall,NPMPC-0.6 showed high efficiency and improved performance for oxygen reduction reaction.
Antioxidant and Anti-aging Potential of a Peptide Formulation (Gal2-Pep) Conjugated with Gallic Acid

Skin is highly vulnerable to premature aging due to external stress, therefore, in this study, a peptide formulation, (galloyl)2-KTPPTTP (Gal2-Pep) was synthesized by combining TPPTTP peptide, and gallic acid (GA). All peptides were synthesized on 2-chlorotrityl chloride resin using solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), and analyzed on an electrospray ionization (ESI)/quadrupole-time-of-flight (Q-TOF) tandem mass spectroscopy (MS) system. Initially, Gal2-Pep showed no toxicity below the concentration 100 μM with cell survival rate of 88% for keratinocytes and fibroblasts. The reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenging activity of Gal2-Pep was more stable compared to GA alone; and after four weeks at room temperature, its ROS scavenging activity remained higher than 50%. Moreover, the peptide formulation, Gal2-Pep also exhibited elastase inhibitory effect in CCD-1064Sk fibroblast cells. Based on the results of RT-qPCR, it was proved in this study that Gal2-Pep increased the expression of PGC-1α to prevent oxidative stress, and validated its potential as an anti-aging agent through increasing the expression of type I collagen and by decreasing the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP1). The findings obtained reinforce the suggestion that the peptide formulation synthesized in this study could be used as a natural antioxidant and anti-aging agent for its cosmetic applications.
Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition of Pt Films on UV-exposed TiO2 Surfaces

TiO2 surfaces irradiated with UV light exhibited a water contact angle of 0°, which is indicative of highly hydrophobic surfaces. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy revealed an increase in the concentration of hydroxyl groups on the UV-exposed surfaces. This concentration allowed for uniform nucleation and enhanced growth of Pt films. The resulting films had a low resistivity of 17.6 μΩ ·cm, which is comparable to the bulk resistivity of 10.6 μΩ cm.

최근 경제사회학 연구들은 시장 하부 영역으로서 생산자의 범주(category)가 시장 성과에 미치는 영향에 주목해왔고, 생산자가 자신의 기존 범주가 아닌 새로운 범주로 확장하는 것이 시장 성과에 부정적인 영향을 준다는 것을 제시했다. 그러나 이 연구들은 생산자가 범주 확장을 하는 조건에 대한 분석에는 소홀하였다. 이 연구의 핵심 주장은 생산자가 범주 확장을 하는 것은 생산자의 사회적 속성 중 지위의 영향을 받는다는 것이다. 이를 경험적으로 분석하기 위해 이 연구는 영화 시장에서 감독의 새로운 장르 진출을 범주 확장으로 파악하고, 어떤 조건에서 감독이 장르 확장을 시도하는가를 분석했다. 연구 대상으로는 2000년대 미국 영화 시장에서 활동하는 감독과 영화에 대한 사건사분석을 시행했다. 사건사분석을 위해서 이 연구는 영화 편수를 시간 기준(clock)으로 하고 지정된 시간마다 기준선 위험률(hazard rate)이 변하는 구간별 지수 모형(piecewise exponential model)을 적용했다. 분석 결과에 의하면, 감독의 지위는 장르확장 가능성과 U자 곡선을 보여주었다. 즉 지위가 낮거나 높은 감독은 새로운 장르로의 확장을 시도할 가능성이 높은 반면, 중간 수준의 지위를 갖는 감독은 자신의 기존 장르에 머무는 경향이 나타났다. 이 결과는 생산자의 범주 확장의 사회적 조건을 제시했고, 또한 지위가 단순히 시장 성과에 영향을 주는 것 이외에 생산자가 자신의 범주를 형성하는 과정에 영향을 준다는 것을 제시했다. Recent studies in economic sociology have shown that category spanning lowers economic performance. However, these studies did not pay much attention to the conditions of category spanning. Combining status-based approach and typecasting argument, we argue that category spanning of a producer is affected by the producer?s status in market. In specific, we argue that a producer?s status in market affects the producer?s dependence on categorical purity. As an empirical demonstration, we conducted an event history analysis of the Hollywood film directors from 1999 to 2010. The result showed that a film director? s status in market has a curvilinear relationship with the director?s hazard of genre spanning. That is, directors with high or low status are more likely to push their genre boundaries, while middle-status directors are less likely to do so. The result demonstrates social conditions of category spanning of a producer, and suggests that status affects not only the relationship between category spanning and market performance, but category spanning itself.

본 연구의 목적은 인터넷 기반의 국제사회가 갖는 경제적인 가치는 어떻게 변화하고 있으며 국가 간 연결성이 국가의 미래 발전에 어떠한 영향이 미치는지 밝히는 것이다. 이 연구를 위해 국가간 무역 통계자료를 활용하여 국가의 발전에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 귀납적으로 분석해 보겠다. 연구대상은 전세계 200여개 국가 중 OECD에서 통계를 제공하는 61개 국가를 대상으로 2000년과 2010년의 통계를 비교분석하였다. 연구방법은 사례분석을 기준으로 한 귀납적인 분석을 수행하였다. 세계와 한국의 무역네트워크를 무역금액과 무역회수로 분석해본 결과 국가간 무역금액은 과거의 경제적 의존도를 무역회수는 국제경제에서의 미래발전가능성을 나타냄을 알 수 있었다.
