Adiponectin Attenuates the Inflammation in Atopic Dermatitis-Like Reconstructed Human Epidermis

Background: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic disorder, with a vicious cycle of repetitive inflammation and deterioration of the epidermal barrier function. Adiponectin, an adipokine, has anti-inflammatory effects on various metabolic and inflammatory disorders. Recently, its level was found to be reduced in serum and tissue samples from AD patients. Objective: We aimed to investigate the effects of adiponectin on epidermal inflammation and barrier structures in AD skin. Methods: A three-dimensional in vitro epidermal equivalent model mimicking AD was obtained by adding an inflammatory substance cocktail to normal human epidermal equivalents (HEEs). The expression of epidermal differentiation markers, primary inflammatory mediators, and lipid biosynthetic enzymes was compared between adiponectintreated AD-HEEs, untreated control AD-HEEs, and normal HEEs. Results: Adiponectin co-treatment 1) inhibited the increase in mRNA expression of major inflammatory mediators (carbonic anhydrase II, neuron-specific NEL-like protein 2, thymic stromal lymphopoietin, interleukin-8, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, and human beta-defensin-2) from keratinocytes in AD-inflammatory HEEs, 2) enhanced the expression of lipid biosynthetic enzymes (fatty acid synthase, HMG CoA reductase, and serine-palmitoyl transferase), and 3) promoted the expression of differentiation factors, especially filaggrin. We also found that the expression of adiponectin receptor-1 and -2 decreased in the epidermis of chronic AD lesion. Conclusion: Activation of the adiponectin pathway is expected to enhance epidermal differentiation and barrier function as well as attenuate inflammatory response to AD as a therapeutic approach. 내 · 외향성과 주의방향에 따른 운동강도지각(RPE)의 효과

The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of personality type and attentional direction on PRE. The experiment was conducted using two levels of personality type(introvert, extrovert) and two levels of attentional direction(association, dissociation) as independent variables. The dependent variables were PRE and endurance time at the point of reaching exercise intensity of VO2max 50%. The task of the experiment was the treadmill task of Ellestard protocol. The subjects, who were at boy's middle school in Seoul, were divided into 7-introvert and 7-extrovert groups through pre-test. The subject's PRE was analyzed by a two-way measure ANOVA. The results of the analysis were as follows. First, PRE was not significantly different at .05 level according to personality type(introvert and extrovert). Second, PRE was not significantly different at .05 level according to attentional direction(association and dissociation). Third, PRE was not significantly different at .05 level according to personality type(introvert and extrovert) and attentional direction(association and dissociation). Although personality type and attentional direction affect PRE in the exercise intensity of VO2max 90%, personality type and attentional direction did not affect PRE in the exercise intensity of VO2max 50%.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of emotion on goal-directed behauor through the review of previous studies. The order of contents were as follows 1. It was suggested that emotion has relevance on the goal to which people will strive, give a priority to a specific goal among various goals people took, and facilitate preparedness and plan about the goal. 2. The study was inquired into the effect of anticipatory emotion about goal on the process of goal-directed behaviors 3. It was suggested that there was the effect of promotion-focus and prevention-focus goal on the different emotion response. 4. By investigating the effect of mood on the change of goal orientation, It was showed that goal orientation has the variableness according to mood.

This paper is focused on practical applicability of the optical fiber sensor considering the machine center which is going to use them. Optical fibers may be fluctuated because the machine center operates as column moving type. This causes distortion of the sensor output signal. To reduce this problem, we have improved the sensor structure and its bracket. And we evaluated performances of the sensor.

In a high speed spindle system, it is very important to monitor the state of rotating rotor. Particularly in active control spindle system, the position sensor must provide feedback to the control system on the exact position of the rotor. In order to monitor the state of a high speed spindle exactly, high accuracy and wide frequency bandwidth of sensors are important. The focus in this paper is to make a fiber optic sensor for monitoring rotor of magnetic bearing to design the circuit for detecting optical signal, and to evaluation static and dynamic characteristics of fiber optic sensor.

스포츠 장면에서 목표지향적 정서모델의 타당성 검증

인간의 심리를 구성하는 인지, 정서, 동기 중 과거에는 등한시해왔던 정서가 인지와 동기를 이끌 수 있고, 인간의 성취 행동을 이해하는데 목표추구 과정이 중요하다는 관점에서 Bagozzi, Baumgartner, 및 Pieters(1998)는 목표상황, 기대정서, 의지과정, 도구 행동, 목표획득, 목표-결과 정서로 구성된 목표지향적 정서 모델(golf-directde emotion model)을 제시하고, 그 타당성을 검증하였다. 그러나 아직 한국의 스포츠장면에서는 검증되지 못한 문제로 인해 본 연구의 필요성이 제기된다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 고등학교 운동 선수를 모집단으로 하였고, 12개의 개인 종목에서 245명, 3개의 단체 종목에서 210명이 표집되어, 총 455명이 본 연구 대상으로 표집되었다. 연구 절차는 시합이 있기 3∼4주전에 목표 확립, 기대 정서, 의지 과정을 측정하였으며, 시합이 끝난 1주 이내에 도구 행동, 목표 획득, 목표-결과 정서를 측정하였다. 자료처리는 상관분석과 공변량구조분석을 실시하였다. 이와 같은 연구 방법과 절차를 통해 목표지향적 정서 모델은 한국의 스포츠 장면에서 적합한 깃으로 나타났다 즉, 목표를 성공하거나 실패할 것으로 기대했을 때 발생하는 기대 정서가 선수들의 의지에 영향을 주고, 이 의지는 실제 행동에 영향을 주며, 이에 따라 목표획득이 결정된다는 것이다. 그리고 목표획득은 목표-결과 정서에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. Cognition, emotion and motivation comprise the mind of a human being, emotion neglected in the past can lead cognition and motivation, and goal-pursuing processes are of importance in having an understanding of the achievement behaviors of human beings. In this context, Bagozzi, Baumgartner, & Rieters(1998) presented a goal-directed emotion model, which consists of goal situation, volitional processes, instrumental behaviors, goal attainment and goal-outcome emotion, and verifying its validity. However, this model has yet to be verified in sport contexts. That is why this study is needed. This paper was picked up high-school students as a population, carrying out stratified random sampling with school. As a result, the subjects were worked with a total of 455 students. Data analyses were resorted to an correlation analysis per variable and covariance structure analysis to verify the goal-directed emotion model. The result was that the goal-directed emotion model turns out to be suitable to Korean sports area. When they expect to succeed or fail in attaining goals, the anticipatory emotion has an influence on the will of the athletes, which has an impact on actual behaviors, and these behaviors determined goal attainment and goal-outcome emotion.

장중첩증을 동반한 맹장 지방종 1예

대장 지방종은 주로 우측 결장에 호발하고 특히 회맹판 부위와 맹장 부위에 호발한다. 또한 50~60대에 빈도가 높고 증상이 있는 환자에서 장중첩증이 높게는 40~50%에서 보고되고 있어 성인 장중첩증의 원인으로 중요한 비중을 차지한다. 특히 성인 장중첩증 및 장폐쇄의 중요 원인인 악성 종양과 임상 양상이 유사하여 감별진단이 중요하다. 저자들은 반복적인 복통을 주소로 내원한 환자에서 맹장의 4×5㎝의 점막하 지방종이 말단 회장부위와 반복적인 장중첩중이 발생했던 1례를 부분 절제술로 치료하여 양호한 임상 경과를 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Lipomas are one of the most common benign nonepithelial tumors of the colon which are often detected incidentally by radiologic investigation or on operation. These tumors are usually without specific symptoms. Colonic lipomas occur most often in the right colon, particularly in the ileocecal valve and the cecum. Most patients are asymptomatic. but tumors larger than 2 cm tend to produce a change in bowel habit. abdominal pain. rectorrhagia and complications including luminal obstruction or intestinal intussusception. Diagnosis can be made by colonoscopy abdominal CT. MRI, or barium enema. We report a case of lipoma of the cecum that originated in the submucosa and presented as a intussusception in a 50-year-old woman with a brief review of the literature.

In this paper, a construction method of the optimum feed rate decision system, which regulate cutting force under varying depth of cut in turning, is presented. In the construction of this system, a reasoning and learning of fuzzy rules with associative memories, is employed. Fuzzy reasoning is performed by the dynamical changes in the associative memory. A learning functions is provided to add and correct fuzzy rules. In order to evaluate the reliability of the presented system, is simulated by AdvanEdge. The results show that this system is very effective to obtain the optimum feed rate under varying depth of cut in turning.
