PECVD로 제작한 수소화된 비정질 탄소(a-C:H) 박막의 화학결합 구조에 관한 연구

Hydrogenated amorphous carbon(a-C:H) films were prepared by PECVD(Plasma enhanced-chemical vapor deposition) method. The films were characterized using various spectroscopic measurements such as Raman scattering, FTIR(Fourier transform infrared) absorption spectroscopy. FRIR absorption reflects only the optically active hydrogen in the a-C:H and, using it together with Raman spectroscopy. The spectral analysis indicated that changes in Raman spectroscopy intensity occurring with increasing substrate temperature 50℃~300℃ were determined to be caused by changes in optically resonant components in the films. Furthermore, a significant correlation was the two crystalline forms of carbon-graphite and -diamond consist of sp² and sp³ bonds, respectively. Significant changes in chemical bonding(sp²/sp³) and micro-structure of hydrogenated amorphous carbon thin films occur as the substrate temperature varies from 50 to 300℃ during.
Apoptotic Activity of Curcumin and EF-24 in HTB-41 Human Salivary Gland Epidermoid Carcinoma Cells

Curcumin (diferuloylmethane), a constituent of turmeric powder derived from the rhizome of Curcuma longa, has been shown to inhibit the growth of various types of cancer cells by regulating cell proliferation and apoptosis. However, a need exists to design more effective analogs because of curcumin's poor intestinal absorption. EF-24 (diphenyl difluoroketone), the monoketone analog of curcumin, has shown good efficacy in anticancer screens. However, the effects of curcumin and EF-24 on salivary gland epidermoid carcinoma cells are not clearly established. The main goal of this study was to investigate the effects of curcumin and EF-24 on cell growth and induction of apoptosis in human salivary gland epidermoid carcinoma cells. Our studies showed that curcumin and EF-24 inhibited the growth of HTB-41 cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner, and the potency of EF-24 was > 34-fold that of curcumin. Treatment with curcumin or EF-24 resulted in nuclear condensation and fragmentation in HTB-41 cells, whereas the control HTB-41 cell nuclei retained their normal regular and oval shape. Curcumin and EF-24 promoted proteolytic cleavages of procaspase-3/-7/-9, resulting in an increase in the amount of cleaved caspase-3/-7/-9 in the HTB-41 cells. Caspase-3 and -7 activities were detected in viable HTB-41 cells treated with curcumin or EF-24. These results suggest that the curcumin and EF-24 inhibit cell proliferation and induce apoptosis in HTB-41 human salivary gland epidermoid carcinoma cells, and that they may have potential properties as an anti-cancer drug therapy.
Spinal anesthesia for single-port-access laparoscopic adnexal surgery: a case series

Background: Although laparoscopic surgery has multiple superiority to laparotomy, upper abdominal pain and shoulder pain has newly developed after performing laparoscopy. To control the respiratory variance occurred by pneumoperitoneum effectively during laparoscopy, traditionally general anesthesia was performed. However, general anesthesia has several disadvantages; damage on airway due to intubation, postoperative nausea/vomiting (PONV), slow recovery compared to spinal anesthesia. Several previous studies proved the safety and usefulness of spinal anesthesia in laparoscopic cholecystectomy. As previous studies are limited to the general surgery field and research on the gynecological field is lacking. Methods: This study was conducted at Wonju Severance Christian Hospital from September 2018 to May 2019. Total 11 patients were enrolled prospectively and underwent SPA laparoscopic adnexal surgery under spinal anesthesia. The intensity of postoperative pain by visual analogue scale score (VAS) and the intensity of PONV by emesis score (0-3) at 0, 2, 6, 12, 24, 48 hours after surgery was checked. Results: No case was converted to general anesthesia. The median long axis of ovarian cyst was 5cm (range, 3-7cm), and median total operation time was 38 minutes (range, 22-54min). 4 patients showed hypotension during operation, but all patients were well controlled with ephedrine 40mg intravenous injection. No patients complained pain nor nausea during operation. Postoperative pain checked 0, 2, 6, 12, 24, 48 hours after operation was 0(0), 3(2.5), 4.2(3.0), 3.1(2.9), 2.5(1.9), 1.7(2.2), and emesis score checked 0, 2, 6, 12, 24, 48 hours after operation was 0.1(0.3), 0(0), 0.2(0.6), 0(0), 0(0), 0.3(0.9). No postoperative complication was noted. Conclusions: Performing SPA laparoscopic adnexal surgery under spinal anesthesia is feasible. We are performing prospective study comparing spinal anesthesia and general anesthesia for SPA laparoscopic adnexal surgery.
MicroRNA-27 Promotes Odontoblast Differentiation via Wnt1 Signaling

MicroRNA (miRNA, miR) is essential in regulating cell differentiation either by inhibiting mRNA translation or by inducing its degradation. However, the role of miRNA in odontoblastic cell differentiation is still unclear. In this study, we examined the molecular mechanism of miR-27-mediated regulation of odontoblast differentiation in MDPC-23 mouse odontoblastic cells derived from mouse dental papilla cells. The results of the present study demonstrated that the miR-27 expression increases significantly during MDPC-23 odontoblastic cell differentiation. Furthermore, miR-27 up-regulation promotes the differentiation of MDPC-23 cells and accelerates mineralization without cell proliferation. The over-expression of miR-27 significantly increased the expression levels of Wnt1 mRNA and protein. In addition, the results of target gene prediction revealed that Wnt1 mRNA has an miR-27 binding site in its 3’UTR, and is increased by miR-27. These results suggested that miR-27 promotes MDPC-23 odontoblastic cell differentiation by targeting Wnt1 signaling. Therefore, miR-27 is a critical odontoblastic differentiation molecular target for the development of miRNA based therapeutic agents in dental medicine.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic inflammatory disease of unknown etiology and is characterized by presence of variable pathogenic auto-antibodies and multiple organ involvement. Serositis is common in SLE, but peritoneal involvement is relatively rare. This is a case report of 28-year-old female who initially presented with abdominal pain and ascites. After ruling out many other possibilities such as liver cirrhosis, neoplasm, and infectious etiologies, we confirmed SLE with clinical features, serologic tests and radiological findings. To conclude, her abdominal pain and ascites were caused by lupus peritonitis. After administration of corticosteroid therapy, her symptoms fairly improved.

Objective: To assess the feasibility of robotic single-site hysterectomy in clinical and economic aspects. Methods: Total 91 patients who underwent robotic hysterectomy in Wonju Severance Christian Hospital from July 2018 to July 2019 was enrolled retrospectively. All patients underwent total hysterectomy or subtotal hysterectomy with or without adnexal surgery using da Vinci Xi® system. Of total 91 patients, 31 patients underwent robotic single-site hysterectomy(RSSH) using Lapsingle® single port channel system, and 60 patients underwent robotic multi-port hysterectomy(RH) using 4-port system. Results: No cases of RSSH were converted to multi-port, laparoscopy or laparotomy. The patients characteristics showed no significant difference between RSSH group and RH group. The uterine weight of RSSH group was 323g [120-720g] and of RH group was 317g [80-653g], it had no significant difference (p=.286). Clinical outcomes except docking time (RSSH; 7.5 min [3-20 min] vs. RH; 10 min [5-26 min], p=.011) had no significant difference between 2 groups; including postoperative pain score on 2, 4, 6, 8, 12 hours after surgery, total operation time, console time, total hospital day, postoperative hemoglolin change. And the overall cost and actual cost paid by patients also had no significant difference. Conclusion: Robotic single-site hysterectomy is feasible in both clinical and economic aspects. Further prospective study should be needed.

<P>Chalcopyrite, CuInSe2 was prepared by a fast microwave-assisted solvothermal synthesis. The influence of reaction temperature, concentrations of the constituents, types of copper salts and added solvent on the morphology and crystallinity of the chalcopyrite has been investigated and also the optimized parameters are presented. The optimum crystallinity was obtained at 180 degrees C reaction temperature with 0.02 M of copper ion concentration. Interestingly, when the copper acetate was used as a copper source, particle size of chalcopyrite was dramatically reduced. Moreover, the synthesis at 1L scale of the reactants gave the particle size of 20 nm for CuInSe2 which is smaller than that of small scale synthesis (23-35 nm). XRD, SEM and Raman Spectroscopy techniques are used for characterization and evaluation of the morphology of the chalcopyrite.</P>
Effect of Butadiene in Catalytic Trimerization of Isobutene Using Commercial C<sub>4</sub> Feeds

Catalytic oligomerization of isobutene to produce triisobutenes has been performed over a cation-exchange resin (Amberlyst-35) by using commercial C4 feeds. The catalytic activity in the oligomerization was retained without deactivation up to 90 h of reaction in a simulated reaction feed without butadiene, but its activity was significantly affected by the presence of butadiene in commercial C4 feeds. The isobutene conversion with time-on-stream was significantly decreased in the presence of butadiene, indicating the catalyst deactivation by butadiene. However, the stable activity for trimerization was accomplished when the oligomerization was carried out after eliminating butadiene by hydrogenation of the feeds. This work demonstrates that butadiene plays a role as a catalyst poison on the solid acid catalyst, so that its removal in the reactant feed is essential for practical application of trimerization.

A porous coordination solid of nickel(II) dihydroxyterephthalate has been synthesized by the microwave-assisted (MW) method. The synthesized nickel(II) dihyroxylterephthalate was designated by the general formula of [$Ni_2$(dhtp) $(H_2O)_2]{\cdot}8H_2O$ (where, dhtp = 2,5-dihydroxyterephthalate, denoted by Ni-DHTP). The effect of microwave-irradiation temperature and time of irradiation on the porosity and morphological changes in the solids have also been investigated. The catalytic performance of Ni-DHTP synthesized by MW method has been studied in the oxidation of cyclohexene with aqueous $H_2O_2$, which gave cyclohexene oxide as the primary product and 2-cyclohexene-1-ol as a major product.
