Fullerene의 유전독성을 평가하기 위하여 Chinese hamster유래의 난소유아세포(CHO-K1 cell)를 이용하여 직접법(-S9)과 대사활성화법(+S9 mix)의 염색체이상시험을 실시하였다. 시험물질은 1% CMC 나트륨염의 현탁액(l% CMC 용액)에 희석하여 조제하였다. 대사활성화를 시키지 않은 직접법의 염색체이상시험에서 24시간 투여군은 8단계의 농도(0.078, 0.156, 0.313, 0.625, 1.25, 2.5, 5, 10mM)로 투여하여 실시하였다. 투여 농도 증가에 따른 염색체이상의 빈도가 증가하는 양상이 나타나지 않았다. 48시간의 투여군에서는 8단계의 농도(0.078, 0.156, 0.313, 0.625, 1.25, 2.5, 5, 10mM)로 투여하여 실시하였는데 투여 농도 증가에 따른 염색체이상의 빈도가 증가하는 양상이 나타나지 않았다. 배수체의 염색체이상은 직접법에서 관찰되지 않았다. 대사활성화법을 이용하여 6시간 시험물질을 투여한 시험에 있어서는 8단계의 용량단계 (0.078, 0.156, 0.313, 0.625, 1.25, 2.5, 5, 10mM)를 설정하였는데 투여 농도가 증가함에 따른 염색체이상빈도의 증가양상이 관찰되지 않았다. 이상의 결과를 종합할 때 본 시험물질은 본 시험 조건하에서 CHO-K1세포에서 대사활성화를 시켰을 때 염색체 이상을 유발하지 않는 것으로 판단된다.

素問·骨空論에 對한 硏究

The text of the Go1 Gong Ron (骨空論) of the So Moon (素問) was written in the Kap UI Kyung (甲乙經) volume 2 chapter 2 and volume 8 chapter 1. Also it was written in the Tae So (太素) volume 10, 11 and 26. In the Shin Kyo Jung (新校正), they say that it is wriien in the Jeon Won Ki Bon (全元起本) volume 2 and 6. But Wang (王永) interpreted it in volume 16. Also it was introduced in the Ryu Kyung (類經) volume 8, 9, 21 and 22 by Jang Kae Pin (張介賓) in the Myung (明) dynasty. In Go1 Gong (骨空), Gol(骨) means bone and Gong(空) means hole. So Go1 Gong(骨空) means the holes on bone of the human body. A large number of acupuncture points in 12 meridians are located on the holes of bone, and they are playing an important part in the treatment of diseases. In Go1 Gong Ron (骨空論), many points that is choosed when we treat various diseases by acupuncture are mentioned, locations that the holes of bone are distributed in are introduced. So it is called Go1 Gong Ron (骨空論) . This article of the research on the Go1 Gong Ron (骨空論) can be divided into 4 chapters. Summerking the contents of the Go1 Gong Ron (骨空論) in reference to the contents of successive generation note, the contents were as follows. Chapter 1 is about the way to use in treating various diseases what caused by Pung Sa (風??) and deals with the methods of locating acupoints based on a frame. Chapter 2 is written about lines that Conception Vessel (任??), Governer Vessel (????), and Throughfare Vessel (????) pass through, and pathological explanations on the diseases which are belong to those three meridians. The name of each part of the leg and the treatment corresponded to each phase of diseases of the leg are also mentioned in this chapter. Chapter 3 is concretely written about the name and position of the hole on bone of the human body. Chapter 4 deals with moxibustion therapy which we use to treat having an attack of indigestion, being bitten by dog, and feeling cold and heat in turn. Because the ancient men used acupuncture as main treatment of disease, they thought much of acupoint. A large number of acupoints are located on the holes of bone, and are playing an important part in the treatment of diseases. Therefore well understanding of Gol Gong Ron (骨空論) is very important. It is too difficult to understand the Gol Gong Ron (骨空論), because it is written in old Chinese. Consequence of above reason, the writer of this article has researched to find out the exact meaning of that.

야뇨증 환아들의 심리사회적 특성에 대한 다기관 연구 : 행동 및 정서 문제를 중심으로

Objectives : The aim of this study was to examine the behavioral and emotional problems associated with nocturnal enuresis in Korean children. Methods : Three hundred eighteen children with nocturnal enuresis, together with their parents, completed the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), Disruptive Behavior Disorder Scale according to DSM-IV (DBDS), Children's Depression Inventory (CDI), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children (STAIC), and Piers-Harris Children's Self-Concept Scale (PHCSC). Ninety-three normal students were selected as the control group. Results : Compared to the normal control group, the mean scores with regard to the withdrawn, social problems, attention problems, delinquent behavior, aggressive behavior, externalizing problems and total problems profiles were significantly higher in the nocturnal enuresis group according to the CBCL results. The nocturnal enuresis group also scored significantly higher in the ADHD and ODD profiles of the DBDS. The nocturnal enuresis group was more depressed and anxious than the control group according to the results of the CDI and STAI. The mean score of the PHCSC was significantly lower in the nocturnal enuresis group when compared to the normal control group. Conclusion : The results of this study suggest that children with nocturnal enuresis in Korea have clinically relevant behavioral and emotional problems. The findings support the link between nocturnal enuresis and psychopathology in Korean children.

Serum TSH Level in Healthy Koreans and the Association of TSH with Serum Lipid Concentration and Metabolic Syndrome

Background/Aims: The proper treatment of subclinical hypothyroidism and the normal range of serum thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) concentration are intensely debated. However, few reports have investigated TSH concentrations in Asian ethnic groups. Therefore, the present study was designed to define the TSH reference range in a Korean population and to investigate the metabolic significance of TSH concentration. Methods: We enrolled patients who underwent medical examination at the CHA Bundang Medical Center. Anthropometric data were evaluated, and serum TSH, free T4, and lipid profiles were assayed. Results: A total of 7,270 subjects were included. Mean TSH concentration of the study population was 1.82 ± 0.95 mU/L, and we observed a sex-related difference in TSH concentration (male, 1.67 ± 0.87 mU/L; female, 2.02 ± 1.01 mU/L; p < 0.01). When the 2.5 and 97.5 percentiles were calculated, 95% TSH reference limits were 0.52-4.29 mU/L. TSH concentration was higher in elderly subjects, during winter, in postmenopausal women, and in obese males. Moreover, TSH showed significantly positive correlations with serum total cholesterol, triglyceride, and low density lipoprotein cholesterol regardless of sex, age, season, obesity, or menopausal status (all p < 0.01). Finally, TSH concentration was positively related to the prevalence of metabolic syndrome. Conclusions: We demonstrated the association between TSH concentration within the normal reference range and serum lipid levels. TSH concentration varies according to sex, age, season, and body mass index (only in males). Moreover, high normal TSH levels were significantly associated with an increased prevalence of metabolic syndrome, which may be of importance when evaluating subjects with high normal TSH concentration.

용접공들의 면역능에 관한 연구

The authors examined human immunity indicators such as CD4, CD8, Natural Killer(NK) cell, IgG, IgA, and IgM, and heavy metals such as Pb, Cr, Cd to evaluate the health hazard of welders. We selected total 126 male subjects, 60 welders who had more than 5 year working history as an exposure group, and 66 office workers and medical college students as a control group. This immunity evaluation approach is the first newly designed study that has never been tried in past studies on welder's heath evaluation. And the results were as follows. 1. Total lymphocyte count of peripheral blood was significantly higher in welder group, 2,615±650 ea/㎕ compared with 2,368±681 ea/㎕ in control group(p>0.05). 2. The proportion of CD4, CD8, NK cell in welder group was 37.5±9.4%, 24.0±8.8%, and 21.0±9.5%, respectively, and 35.5±6.5%, 25.0±6.9%, and 19.6±8.8% in control group. CD4 and NK cell were slightly higher, and CD8 was slightly lower in welder group. but there was no statistical significance between two groups(p≥0.05). 3. IgG, IgA, and IgM in welder group were 15.9㎎/㎗, 2.7㎎/㎗ and 1.5㎎/㎗, respectively, and 15.6㎎/㎗, 2.9㎎/㎗ and 1.7㎎/㎗ in control group. There was no statistical significance between two groups(p≥0.05). 4. Blood lead, cadmium and chromium concentrations were 4.2±1.8㎍/㎗, 0.4±0.38㎍/㎗, 1.2±0.6㎍/㎗ in welder group and 3.2±1.7㎍/㎗, 0.44±0.29㎍/㎗, 1.1±0.6㎍/㎗ in control group, respectively, and these value were within normal ranges.

과실이 크고 품질이 우수한 조생종 배 ‘금촌조생’ 육성

‘금촌조생’ 품종은 농촌진흥청 원예연구소 나주배연구소에서 1971년 ‘금촌추’의 품질을 개선하기 위해 당도가 높고 육질이 유연한 ‘단배’를 교배하여 1982년 1차 선발되었고, 1997년부터 5년 간 지역적응시험을 거쳐 2001년 최종 선발 및 품종보호출원 되었다. 수세는 비교적 강하고, 수자는 반개장성이다. 꽃가루가 풍부하며, 주요 재배품종과 교배친화성을 보인다. 또한 흑반병에 대하여 강한 포장저항성을 나타내었다. 숙기는 재배중인 ‘원황’ 품종보다 약 5일 정도 늦은 9월 3일로 추석에 출하하기 알맞은 품종이다. 과형은 ‘금촌추’와 같은 도원추형이고, 과피색은 황갈색이다. 과중은 593g이고, 당도는 13.2Bx이다. 육질은 유연하며 과즙이 풍부하고, 석세포가 없어 식미가 매우 우수하다. 그러나 과육선숙형 품종으로 원예적 수확기에도 과피에 녹색이 남지만, 완숙과가 되면 황갈색으로 착색된다. 상온저장 기간은 20일 정도로 다른 조생종에 비해 저장력은 좋은 편이다. ‘Geumchonjosaeng’ pear cultivar (Pyrus pyrifolia var. culta Nakai) originated from the cross between ‘Imamuraaki’ and ‘Danbae’ to improve the fruit quality of ‘Imamuraaki’ cultivar in 1971 at Naju Pear Research Institute of National Horticultural Research Institute (NHRI), Rural Development Administration (RDA). It was preliminarily selected in 1982 and named in 2001. The tree habit shows vigorous growth and upright spreading. It carries abundant pollen grains and shows cross compatibility with leading cultivars. Also it shows high resistance to black leaf spot (Alternaria kikuchiana) in the field condition. Optimum harvest time is around Sep. 3, which is 5 days later than that of ‘Wonwhang’, and it could satisfy consumer’s demand for high quality pear fruit in “Chuseok”. The obovate fruit shape resembles maternal parent, ‘Imamuraaki’ and skin color is green yellowish brown at normal harvesting time and gradually turned to yellowish brown at full ripennig state. Fruit weighs about 593 g, and the soluble solid content is 13.5 ˚Bx. The flesh is very soft and juicy and, rendering good eating quality. Shelf life is about 20 days under the ambient temperature, and it is a relatively long period as compare with other early season cultivars.

Physical Activity and Music

Do different kinds of music influence the psycho-motor process for children? If so, which kinds of music improve different types of physical activity for children? The use of well-selected music to make the movement experience more enjoyable may be a useful intervention the promotion of physical activity (Karageorghis, 1967). To answer tile above questions, an on-the-spot survey was conducted on children participating in a yoga class, which is recognized as beneficial for the physical and emotional development of children. Also, a literature survey was carried out concerning the influence of music on physical activities. Thus, this paper is divided into two sections. The first section presents the effects of music on physical activity: motor performance, affective responses, and perceptual response. It refers to findings discussed since the review of Lucaccini & Kreit (1972). The second section analyses the survey results of the children's yoga class, which was surveyed on four occasions in the period of one month.

함치성 낭종으로 오인되는 유치의 근단성 낭종에 관한 연구

20 radicular cysts of primary teeth mimicking dentigerous cyst were reviewed. The following results were obtained. 1. The patients' age ranged from 7 to 14 years. Males(60%) were more involved than females(40%) 2. The mandible(85%) was affected more frequently than the maxilla(15%) The mandibular deciduous molar area(80%) was the most frequently involved. 3. The diameter of the cyst varied from 10 to 30㎜. 55% of permanent successors showed underdeveloped roots less than one-third. 4. The etiologic factors were pulp-treated teeth(65%), severe caries(20%), trauma(10%), deep amalgam filling(5%).

신 고딕주의 교회건축의 표현양상에 대한 연구

The study is intended to clarify the ideologies and principles applied to the formative expression of Neo-Gothic church architecture which is contained both the God and human. The intention have been started from the study of transitional aspect of church architecture formative expression and in the process the most important concept is creational enthusiasm and self-governed attitude istorically speaking, in the time of before christ the meaning of church can be understood as the space with usage. In basilica which is the first place after official recognition of Christianity, the religious enthuaiasm is not the description of orderly organized architecture. After the move of Rome, church architecture have formed with containing other culture and well-developed religious expression of other religion. After all, Christianism architecture which describe sacredness for the first time, at least. have not been existed in the point of view of expressional problem and organized in interaction with many culture and religion along the history. At Gothic, Christianism culture have reached its blossom then faced its turning point in Renaissance though the Reformation. The changes should not be understood as transitions from God and Humanism but the point of view of thinking for God have been changed from aspect of feeling to rational and logical aspects. The point of understanding have been the ideological background of transition of church architecture since modern era. In the end, this study is intended to know that the design of Neo-Gothic church architecture influences modern church architecture.

노인들에 있어서 갑작스런 넘어짐(낙상)으로 유도되는 신체적, 정신적인 쇠약성의 악순환에 관한 고찰

To identify causes and risk factors for falling in the elderly, several risk factors are described and analyzed with evidences in the related literature. Although many risk factors have ben identified, the direct causes of falls are limited to three: 1) Loss of balance, 2) Loss of strength, and 3) Environmental hazards. From the relationship, which is the circular and interacted relationship of positive feedback, the risk factors for falling are very much interrelated; some are causative factors for others. Therefore, a knowledge of the interaction and mutual causation involved in the risk factors for falling should give us added incentive to seek solutions to this severe threat to the aged among us.
