Background and Objective : Vocal fold augmentation by injectable material under direct visual control is an easy and simple operation. However, when autologous fat or bovine collagen is used, the resoiption creates a problem. And autologous fascia is debating about absorption now days. We previously reported on the one year results of injected autologous auricular cartilage for volumetric augmentation in paralyzed canine vocal cord. This study evaluates the long-term histomorphologic results of injected autologous auricular cartilage for the augmentation of the paralyzed canine vocal fold at two year. Material and Methods . A prospective trial of autologous cartilage augmentation of vocal cord in animal model. Three dogs were operated upon. A piece of auricular cartilage was harvested from the ear and minced into tiny chips with a scalpel. Fat was harvested from inguinal area and minced with a scalpel. The minced cartilage and fat-paste (0.2ml) was injected using a pressure syringe into the paralyzed thyroarytenoid muscle using direct laryngoscopy. Three animals were sacrificed at 2 years. Each subject underwent laryngectomy and serial coronal sections of paraffin blocks from the posterior vocal fold were made. Results There was no significant complication perioperatively and during follow-up. The injected cartilage which appeared to have lost viability existed in the vocalis muscles until 24 months. Fibrotic change was exhibited in the surrounding injected cartilage. Conclusion : The autologous auricular cartilage graft is well tolerated and may be very effective material for volumetric augmentation on paralyzed vocal cord.
산지돌발홍수 예측을 위한 TOPLATS 지표해석모델 적용성 평가

본 연구의 목적은 TOPLATS 지표해석모형으로부터 생산된 격자 수문기상성분과 통계적 돌발홍수지수모형을 이용하여 격자 돌발홍수지수를 생산하고 그 적용성을 평가하는데 있다. 대상유역은 2009~2012년동안 38건의 돌발홍수 구조요청 사례가 발생한 수도권 지역을 선정하였다. 지표해석모형의 시공간 해상도는 1 h, 1 km 이며 동일한 해상도의 모의를 위해 필요한 격자 기상자료는 기상청 AWS (automatic weather stations)의 시단위 자료를 역거리법을 이용하여 구축하였다. 돌발홍수 피해사례 38건에 대해 대응되는 모의격자의 수문성분을 분석하였으며 27건(71%)에서 구조요청시점에 대해 강우량, 지표유출량, 토양수분량, 지하수면깊이가 적절하게 모의되는 것을 확인하였다. 강우조건에 따른 격자 돌발홍수지수의 정확도는 구조요청시점 기준 선행시간 4~6시간까지 71~87%, 구조요청시점으로 한정된 0시간에서 42~52%로 나타났다. 이상의 결과로부터 지표해석모델을 이용한 격자 수문성분과 통계적 돌발홍수지수모형으로부터 산정된 격자 돌발홍수지수는 산지 돌발홍수를 예측하는데 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. The objective of this study is the generation of the gridded flash flood index using the gridded hydrologic components of TOPLATS land surface model and statistic flash flood index model. The accuracy of this method is also examined in this study. The study area is the national capital region of Korea, and 38 flash flood damages had occurred from 2009 to 2012. The spatio-temporal resolutions of land surface model are 1 h and 1 km, respectively. The gridded meteorological data are generated using the inverse distance weight method with automatic weather stations (AWSs) of Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA). The hydrological components (e.g., surface runoff, soil water contents, and water table depth) of cells corresponding to the positions of 38 flood damages reasonably respond to the cell based hourly rainfalls. Under the total rainfall condition, the gridded flash flood index shows 71% to 87% from 4 h to 6 h in the lead time based on the rescue request time and 42% to 52% of accuracy at 0 h which means that the time period of the lead time is in a limited rescue request time. From these results, it is known that the gridded flash flood index using the cell based hydrological components from land surface model and the statistic flash flood index model have a capability to predict flash flood in the mountainous area.

Telomerase activity appears to be associated with cell immortalization and malignant progression. Understanding how telomerase activity is regulated in vivo is important not only for understanding the molecular biology of telomerase but also for the potential clinical application of anticancer drugs. This study evaluated telomerase activity and quantified the expression of human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) mRNA and human telomerase RNA (hTR) using a real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) method before and after the exposure of cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) in two head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) cell lines. Two human HNSCC cell lines (PNUH-12 and SNU- 899) were studied. Cell cytotoxicity, the change of telomerase activity, and hTERT mRNA and hTR expression by 5-FU and cisplatin exposure were assessed by MTT assay, TRAP assay, and real-time RT-PCR, respectively. In two cell lines, after cisplatin exposure, the telomerase activity and hTERT mRNA expression decreased, but hTR expression in- creased according to the concentration of drug. However, in both cell lines, the telomerase activity and hTR did not show any significant change after 5-FU treatment, but the expression of hTERT mRNA decreased. These results suggest that there may be other important regulating mechanism except hTERT mRNA as the regulation factor of telomerase activity in HNSCC cell lines.

N-channel TFTs fabricated on the pre-amorphized (by Si ion implantation) and recrystallized Si film having 10.1V threshold voltage, 20.7cm$^{2}$/V$\cdot$s field effect mobility and ~10$^{5}$/ ON/OFF ratio, whowed improved characteristics comparing to those obtained from the as-deposited (by LPCVD) poly Si film which had 11.2V, 9cm$^{2}$/V$\cdot$s and ~10$^{4}$ respectively.
양파(Allium cepa L.)의 항고지혈 및 항산화 활성에 관한 연구

This Study was attempted to investigate the effect of Allium cepa L. (onion) on the activities of GOT and GPT, the levels total lipids, triglyceride, total cholesterol, phospholipid and ${\beta}-lipoprotein$ in the serum and the increase ratio of body and liver weight in the experimentally induced hyperlipemic rats. The activities of S-GOT and S-GPT were significantly decreased in dose of onion juice 3 ml and 5 ml/head as compared to the high lipid-diet control group. The levels of total lipids. Triglyceride, total cholesterol and phospholipids were significantly decreased in dose of onion juice 3 ml and 5 ml/head as compared to the control group, respectively. However, the level of ${\beta}-lipoprotein$ was significantly decreased in dose of onion juice 3 ml/head. The levels of triglyceride and total cholesterol in the liver were significanatly decreased in dose of onion juice 3 ml/head. Increase ratio of the body and liver weight were significantly decreased in dose of onion juice 3 ml/head. Anti-fatigue activity of onion juice were studied in mice using the swimming performance method. The potencies of anti-fatigue acti-vities was significantly found in 1.2 ml/head. p.o. of onion juice. The methanol extract and juice extract of onion was significantly found to have an antioxidative activity on the air oxidation of linoleic acid as compared to the 3-butyl-4-hydroxyanisole and ${\alpha}-tocopherol$.
IEEE 802.15.3 Wireless PAN의 MAC에서 다중채널의 적용

본 논문에서는 IEEE 802.15.3 High-Rate WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network) 환경에서 다중 채널을 사용하여 향상된 성능의 MAC 프로토콜을 제안한다. IEEE 802.15.3 High-Rate WPAN은 10m 내외의 거리에서 실시간 비디오 및 대용량 파일 전송을 목적으로 설계된 MAC과 PHY의 표준을 말한다. 현재 표준의 MAC 프로토콜은 하나의 무선 채널을 piconet 내의 모든 DEV가 공유하여 사용한다. 이 중 PNC(Piconet Coordinator)는 TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access)방식으로 DEV들에게 채널타임을 할당한다. 이런 경우 piconet내의 통신하는 DEV의 수가 많아지게 되면 superframe의 길이가 길어져 전송되는 데이터의 aggregate throughput이 떨어지고 QoS(Quality of Service)를 보장하지 못한다. 본 논문에서 하나의 piconet이 여러 개의 채널을 동시에 사용하여 aggregate throughput을 향상시키고 QoS를 보장하는 다중채널 MAC 프로토콜을 제안하고 시뮬레이션을 통해 향상된 성능을 증명한다. This paper presents a multi-channel enhancement scheme for the MAC protocol of IEEE 802.15.3 High-rate WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network). The current MAC protocol of the IEEE 802.15.3 High-rate WPAN is designed for sharing a single channel among DEVs of a piconet; that is, within a single piconet, PNC prevents interference through MAC layer assignment of time slots to other DEVs using time-division multiple access. When the number of DEVs that communicate with each other frequently, is increased in a single WPAN, the size of the superframe becomes inevitably large, and this may result in a significant throughput drop or a failure to provide QoS guarantee. A multi-channel enhancement scheme for the MAC protocol of IEEE 802.15.3 High-rate WPAN is proposed to significantly increase the aguegate throughput and more reliably provide the QoS guarantees in a piconet
