Vol.2009 No.11
In this study, the structural analysis of Test-bench by fatigue test for Fairleader. A purpose of this study is to look into a structural safety and then to search for conceptual design of Test-bench which satisfies both a sufficient stiffness and lightweight structure. CATIA program is used for 3D shape modeling and HyperMesh is used for Pre-processing to generate mesh. Finite element analysis of the two model is performed using a commercial FEM code, ABAQUS. The validity of the suggested model is determined by comparing FEN analysis result two model.

In this study, in case of load is imposed to universal fairleader that do mooring line of vessel or marine structure or guide role of mooring rope, after examine structural safety, we apply topology optimize method and find concept shape that have optimum topology for structure light weight as has enough hardness, we have compared proposed model and initial model by using CATIA, HyperMesh and ABAQUS as modeling and analysis tool

A pin-type load-cell which uses shear-type strain gauges was developed to measure the tension of a wire in a winch. A finite element analysis was performed to determine the locations of the strain gauges. All of the shear-type strain gauges were attached onto parts that undergo regularly shear stress distributions. A Wheatstone bridge circuit was used to connect each of the gauges and to measure the strains. Linearity within the 5% error range was noted when testing the pin-type load-cell.
