생명정보 대량 획득기술의 하나인 마이크로어레이(microarray)는 DNA와 각종 유전자 연구에 사용되는 도구로 확립되면서, 생명정보학(Bioinformatics)분야의 발전에 크게 기여하였다. 그러나 마이크로어레이는 생명정보학분야의 핵심기술 중 하나로 발전하였음에도 불구하고 실험으로 생성되는 데이터는 형태가 다양하고 매우 복잡한 형태를 갖기 때문에 데이터의 공유나 저장에서 많은 어려움을 겪고 있다. 본 논문에서는 마이크로어레이 데이터의 관리를 원활하게 하기위한 XML 기반의 표준 포맷인 MAGE-ML스키마에서 구조적으로 유사한 엘리먼트가 반복적으로 나타나는 특징과 대다수의 엘리먼트들이 특정 엘리먼트의 자식으로만 온다는 구조적 특징을 이용하여, MAGE-ML의 스키마를 단순화 하고 저장구조를 효율적으로 설계하는 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법에서 인라인 기법(Inlining Technique)을 이용한 스키마의 단순화와 새롭게 제시하는 엘리먼트의 구조적 형태를 기준으로 분류하는 기법을 이용한다. 이를 통하여 데이터베이스 스키마는 간략화 되며 테이블조인의 횟수가 줄어들고 성능은 향상된다. As one of typical techniques for acquiring bio-information, microarray has contributed greatly to development of bioinformatics. Although it is established as a core technology in bioinformatics, it has difficulty in sharing and storing data because data from experiments has huge and complex type. In this paper, we propose a new method which uses the feature that microarray data format in MAGE-ML, a standard format for exchanging data, has frequent structurally similar patterns. This method constructs compact database by simplifying MAGE-ML schema. In this method, Inlining techniques and newly proposed classification techniques using structural similarity of elements are used. The structure of database becomes simpler and number of table-joins is reduced, performance is enhanced using this method.

After the 9/11 attack in 2001, Various studies have been conducted on how to more efficiently evacuate occupants in the super high-rise buildings. The purpose of this study is to research on emergency exitways so as to minimize the casualties by sudden disasters, such as terrorist attacks, typhoons, and earthquakes, etc. Our study shows that emergency exitways may be considerably improved by providing safe refuge spaces on each floor, as exemplified in the Shanghai Center Building in China.

The debating whether radio wave is a thing in legal sense or not and who is an owner of radio wave has a problem that confused radio wave in scientific notion as a generic concept with radio wave as an object of ownership in legal sense. Radio wave has a character as a thing in legal sense under Korean Civil Code §98. However an object of ownership in legal sense is not radio wave in scientific notion as a generic concept but radio wave that is artificially produced by someone. I would name radio wave in this meaning`radio wave signal`` for discriminating from radio wave in scientific notion. The ownership of radio wave signal should belong to the person who produces it. In spite of using the notion ``ownership``, this ownership is weaker right than traditional ownership of movables out of regard for publicness a important resource.

Background : Oncogene is normally present in various human tissue as a proto- oncogene which is activated into oncogene by mutation. translocation, rearrangement. and amplification of genes By the activated oncogene, cells that have the normal explication can be transformed into tumor cells. Recent studies on the oncogene or its product suggest that it may be tumor marker or Prognostic indicator of human tumors. To clarify the relationship between the expression of c-erbB-2 oncogene and pathologic type of cancer and its progression (such as lymph node metastasis). and to evaluate the correlation between the c-erbB-2 oncogene expression and the prognosis of cancer, our study was done in the gastric cancer that had the most frequent attack rate in Korea. Methods : The expression of c-erbB-2 oncogene was examined through the immunohistochemical study in paraffin sections of 103 cases of gastric cancer which resected surgically. Results : 1) Positive reaction for c-erbB-2 oncogene product was observed mainly along the cytoplasmic membrane, and occasionally in the cytoplasm of the tumor cells. 2) The positive ratio of c-erbB-2 expression was 52.8% in well differentiated. 53.8% in moderate differentiated, 53.6% in poorly differentiated adenocar-cinoma, and 25.0% in signet ring cell carcinoma. 3) The cases of positive reaction of c-erbB-2 oncogene had lymph node metastasis in 68.4% of well differentiated, 71.4% of moderately differentiated, 73.3% of poorly differentiated. and all of signet ring cell carcinoma. But the cases of negative reaction of it had lymph node metastasis in 29.4% of well differentiated, 25.0% of moderately differentiated, 23.1% of poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma, and 33.3% of signet ring cell carcinoma. Conclusion : From the above results, the cases of positive reaction of c-erbB-2 oncogene have more lymph node metastasis than those of negative expression of it. Therefore, the expression of c-erbB-2 oncogene product may be a useful indicator of prognosis in gastric cancer patients.
