Vol.39 No.1

폴리프로필렌(PP)으로 그래프트된 그래핀 옥사이드(PP-grafted GO)는 2-bromoisobutyryl 그룹을 가진 GO(GO-Br)와 하이드록시 그룹을 가진 PP(PP-OH)와의 “grafting-to” 화학반응을 통하여 제조하였다. PP-grafted GO was prepared by the reaction of graphene oxide (GO) containing 2-bromoisobuyryl groups and polypropylene (PP) having hydroxyl groups (PP-OH) via a “grafting-to” method. GO-Br was synthesized by the reaction of GO and 2-bromoisobutyryl bromide under a basic condition. PP-MAH was reacted with ethanolamine to produce PPOH. The melting temperature of PP-grafted GO was shifted to the higher temperature than that of PP-OH. Also, the thermal stability of PP-grafted GO was increased as compared to PP-OH and GO. These results demonstrated that the grafted coating polymer PP was effective for enhancing the thermal stability of GO. The higher surface roughness of PP-grafted GO was resulted from the chemical attachment of PP on the surface of GO. The characterization of PP-grafted GO was conducted from Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and scanning electron microscope (SEM).

Vol.51 No.-

This thesis aims to understand the meaning of the "labor novels" in 1980"s, considering the historical situation at the time. The labor novels in 1980"s were created by intellectual writers. These writers created the labor novels through "self-negation" or "the betrayal of one"s own class", through the imagination of "crossing". This thesis will analyse the Jung Hwajin, Yoo Soonha, and Bang Hyunsuk"s labor novels. These are writers as well as laborers, the intellectual as well as writers.
Jung Hwajin"s A Metallic Stain describes the class-troubles surrounding "a bonus for preparing kimchi for the winter" with a foundry for background. This literary work expresses volumes in sketching the every-day struggle originating in a small and medium enterprise. And it is characteristic that middle-aged Mr Chon appears on the stage as a main speaker, not a advanced laborer or a young laborer of new generation. This novel shows entirely the characteristics which the labor novels in 1980"s have. The labor novels in 1980"s shout the partisan spirit of "laborers", but, on the other hand, also the laborers became the focus of object on all sides. Only the struggle of laborers came to be embossed, leaving out the every-day lives of laborers.
Yoo Soonha"s A Formation talks about a big struggle in 1987. This novel is characteristic that it presents its characters typically. While the existing labor novels establish laborers as speakers, this novel establishes Shin Jongtaek, a middle manager as the speaker. It narrates dramatically the confrontation between the capitalist and laborer in a closed space of a company. This narration strategy meets the case in showing the class-difference clearly as well as the real situation of the Korean labor world in 1980"s.
Bang Hyunsuk"s The First Stepping-Forward(1988) and Going to War at the Dawn(1989) are interesting to catch the periodical situation calmly. "The revolutionary laborer" showing in Bang"s novels is set up as the laborer overcoming the everyday difficulties and the hardship of the organization and growing up. However, Bang doesn"t depict their future hopefully.
This narration of suffering is closely connected with the sub-consciousness of the writer who took part in a labor movement as a student activist. The effect of the irony has come into existence between the tragic understanding about the world and the growing labor-understanding. In The First Stepping-Forward the laborers who turned away a labor movement because of Jungsik"s anger become part of struggle together. However, the romantic prospect that the struggle will become a victory is under the shadows of night. In Going to War at the Dawn 65 of female laborers leave to somewhere to struggle. The tragic beauty that their struggle could get joined on another breakdown flows in the whole text. In other words, we can say that the class-struggle which has been continuing since 80"s can not be accomplished only with romantic anticipation.
"Labor" is all of the human activities and an important constituent of life. Today is the age that socialistic prospect or aesthetics have been sinking. Though, it seems that "labor novels" will last. It is because human everyday life is just labor activity or its outcome. The labor novels in 80"s record the history of suffering of laborers. If "labor novels" in 1980"s are linked with the "finding-hope" in darkness, the labor novels in the future will reflect on how human everyday activities and labors are linked. Through this, I can anticipate that we could find a new pathway that "everyday life/labor/politics" to take a triangular position literarily.

Vol.58 No.-

The purpose of this study is to reconstruct `Scenery of Colony Gyeongseong in the 1920s` by approaching Yeom Sang-seop`s full-length novel Love and Crime from the viewpoint of the cultural politics of space. Love and Crime is a noteworthy full-length novel in the colonial period published serially in the Dong-A Ilbo in a total of 257-part series from August 1, 1927 to May 4, 1928. This novel was the one that Yeom Sang-seop wrote while he stayed in Tokyo for 2 years since he went to Japan on January 19, 1926. What is interesting is the fact that the setting for the novel was `Colony Gyeongseong,` and the place where the novel was written was `Imperial City Tokyo.` It has been common that preceding studies have approached `love` and `ideology` separately, but this study is differentiated in terms of the aspect of reconstructing the symbolism of colonial period space through the symbolism of space. This writer focused on the colonial city Gyeongseong in the mid-1920s and examined the relationship between `what Love and Crime overexposes` and `what it tries to conceal.` Japanese imperialism pursued the internalization of power through the cultural politics of space. Under such circumstances, the youth of colonized Joseon in the 1920s planned crack in the empire in the outside of the eyes of the empire. The one aspect of the cultural practice can be confirmed through Love and Crime. Love and Crime stands out in approach to space so much prominently for the work in the 1920s. This work effectively senses the power of colonial authority operating while covering Gyeongseong. The surroundings of Jingogae, the central space of Namchon is the street of consumption for women characters and the merrymaking place for men characters. It was the space of spectacles that overwhelmed the daily life of the colony. Severance Hospital and the house of Simcho brother-in-law as the transitional zone embodied in the novel are also interesting space. These places are located in the center of the empire and at the same time in the outside of the eyes of the empire. These two places were the transitional zones of discourses standing against the colonial authority. Love and Crime faces the modernity of anti-colonialism. This novel takes the conclusion which appropriately shows the symbolism of spaces, `Japan` and `China.` It can be said that it grasped the scenery of Joseon in the 1920s appropriately in which anti-colonial modernism was possible only in the outside of `Japan and Joseon` that Haechun and Sunyeong chose Shanghai in China rather than Japan.

Vol.45 No.-

Lots of researchers have studied the meaning of nature by Rousseau. The idea of nature, however, is still one of the most controversial issues in studying Rousseau. This dissertation aims to examine the idea of nature on the historical context. The Ionions thought that nature itself circulates. Although they comprehended nature from the scientific point of view getting over the early myth, they thought nature from the view of hylozoism. The Pythagoreans claimed that whole the universe and nature is mystical and eternal. Nature has harmony in accordance with ratios of numbers. From their view human-being is microcosm while nature is macrocosm. Although Plato was affected by the Pythagoreans, he found the transcendence-theory instead of immanence-theory. He claimed that the material world as it seems to us is not the real world, but only an image or copy of the real world. Rousseau disagreed the modern idea of nature based on Enlightenment. He opposed rationality based on reason and rejected to regard nature as a huge machine. He borrowed ideas from the understanding of nature by ancient Greek. He was influenced by the Ionions, Pythagoreans, and Plato and he believed the power of nature organizing the order. Borrowing the macrocosm-microcosm model of ancient Greek, he claimed that human being has capacity to follow the order of nature. He insisted that human being has self love, compassion and perfectibility which are given from nature itself as a microcosm and thus he should be accorded to the order of nature as macrocosm.
