Objective: To investigate the prevalence of avascular necrosis (AVN) of bone in SLE patients. and to examine the contributing factors of AVN. Methods: 230 patients of 322 SLE patients fulfilling the 1982 ARA criteria of SLE were analysed for the steroid treatment and clinical manifestations. Their mean age was 33 years old. AVN was diagnosed by evidence of AVN in plain X-ray, bone scan and/or MRI. Retrospective analysis for medication history and clinical manifestations were performed. Results: The rpevalence of AVN was 9.3% (30 patients of 322). All of the AVN patients were female and their mean age was 28 years old. Most common site of AVN was femoral head (54.3%). other sites were distal femur (22%) and proximal tibia (15%), proximal humerus (7%) and tarsal bone (2%). in order. 25 patients had multiple bony involvements. AVN was significantly associated with cutaneous vasculitis, CNS involvement and lupus nephritis. Recent (6 months before arthralgia) daily steroid dose of AVN(+) patients was higher than AVN(-) patients (15.2 mg vs 7.6mg p<0.05). Total mean daily steriod dose was not significantly different (20.3mg/d vs 12.3 mg/d) between AVN(+) and AVN(-). Conclusion: AVN is an important cause of musculoskeletal damage and disability in SLE. SLE patients with higher steroid treatment and major organ involvement need to be carefully evaluated for avascular necrosis.

Objective: To investigate the dosage of bovine type II collagen (BnCII) for the induction of oral tolerance in CIA animals, and to verify the changes of immune response and TGF-β production of mesenteric lymph node cells in tolerized CIA animals. Methods: Oral tolerance was induced by feeding of variable doses (5㎍, 10㎍, 20㎍ and 40㎍) of BnCII to DBA/1 mice 4 times per week during 2 weeks, and control mice were given ovalbumin (1000㎍), before immunization. We examed clinical assessment; incidence of arthritis, severity of arthritis, arthritic limb by visual analysis. IgG antibodies to BnCII were measured by ELISA, T cell responses to BnCII and PHA were quantified by antigen (CII)-induced 3H-thymidine incorporation into lymphocytes of mesenteric lymph node, draining lymph node, and spleen. TGF-β in supernatants obtained from lymph node culture medium was measured by ELISA. Results: Arthritis limbs were observed in 100% of control at 5 weeks after subcutaneous BnCII injection. The incidences of CIA in all tolerized group were significantly lower than that in control 5 weeks after immunization (control 100% vs. 5㎍ feeding group: 50%, 10㎍ feeding group: 50%, 20㎍ feeding group: 50%, 40㎍ feeding group: 55.5%, P<0.01). In comparison to control, mean articular indices were lower in all tolerized groups (control 5.13: 5㎍ feeding group 3.50, 10㎍ feeding group 2.75, 20㎍ feeding group 2.87, 40㎍ feeding group 2.63, P<0.05). Arthritic limbs were also significantly lower in tolerized groups (control 58.3: 5㎍ feeding group 20.8, 10㎍ feeding group 16.7, 20㎍ feeding group 20.8, 40㎍ feeding group 20.8, P<0.05). The titers of IgG antibody to CII were lower in tolerized group than that in control [tolerized group; median 10 (min. 0, max. 48), control; median 33 (min. 8.6, max. 101), P<0.05]. The proliferative responses to BnCII were significantly suppressed in tolerized (control 8010±2319cpm, tolerized group 4500±2060cpm, P<0.01). High TGF-β production was noted in tolerized group (control; 28pg/ml, BnCII feeding group; 73pg/ml). Conclusion: Oral tolerance in DBA/1 mice was successfully induced from low doses of BnCII (5㎍) and suppressed T and B cell function in conjunction with increased TGF-β production may play an important role for the induction of CII induced oral tolerance in DBA/1 mice.

This study analyzes the controversial points caused by `Performance Assessment` introduced in 1999 and also various methods of `Performance Assessment` in the course, Dance History of the Arts high school. With these approaches, this study is looking for a better way to do `Performance Assessment` which is reflecting students`, parents` and teachers` situation. This study tries to find out possible ways which are based on theories to measure students ability in `Performance Assessment` because there is not enough curriculum studies in Dance History as a professional subject. There are three methods (1) Describing and Writing certain kinds of topics (2) Group Presentation about various topics (3) Research Papers. This study finds out week parts of Dance History as a subject reflecting students`, parents` and teachers` situation. Furthern~ore this is looking for special characters of above four methods in the class and applying those methods in the class. As a result, there are several ways to make the Performance Assessment apply in the class better. (1) Making the Situation including time and place be ready for the Performance Assessment (2) Developing the materials used in the class and studying the `Dance History professionally (3) Training the teachers (4) Making the assessment standard by the municipal or provincial Deparanent of Education (5) Preserving the right of choice (6) strengthening the Inspection for the test results (7) Making the various conference groups for applying the `Performance Assessment` in the school such as a conference with the teachers who are teaching the same grade students in the school (8) Assisting with the teachers for the test objectivity.

지금까지 독자적으로 개발된 애플리케이션간의 데이터 교환 및 효율적인 그룹웨어 환경 구축을 위하여 개방 분산 환경에서는 향상된 시스템 통합 방법이 절실히 요구된다. 따라서, 본 논문은 개방 분산 환경에서 시스템 통합시 기존 애플리케이션의 재사용, 확장성, 최소비용특성을 제공하는 CORBA기반의 향상된 시스템 통합구조를 제안하고 애플리케이션들간의 상호운용성을 효과적으로 보장하는 네가지 핵심연산을 구현한다. 이 네가지 핵심 연산을 분산 데이터들의 투명적 교환 및 데이터 형식의 자유로운 변환, 분산 객체들에 대한 투명적 접근, 분산 애플리케이션들의 메소드 활용등을 보장한다.
객체지향 온톨로지 관리기를 이용한 바이오 온톨로지 생성

본 논문에서는 온톨로지를 구축하고 관리하는 객체 지향 온톨로지 관리기(Object-oriented Ontology Manager, OOM)를 이용한 바이오 온톨로지의 구축과 관리를 보인다. OOM은 객체지향 패러다임을 기반으로 보다 정교한 온톨로지의 구축을 위해 다양한 관계들을 지원하며, 다른 온톨로지와의 병합을 위해 다른 언어로의 온톨로지 번역기를 제공한다. OOM은 생명 정보학 관련 온톨로지의 많은 지식을 내포하고 있는 용어와 이들 간의 복잡한 관계를 쉽게 표현할 수 있도록 가시적인 개념화에 의해 온톨로지를 구축한다. 또한, 관계 링크에 기반한 추론 기능을 지원하여 온톨로지 구축과 관리를 용이하게 하고, 질의 시 적합한 결과를 제시한다. 따라서 OOM은 기존의 온톨로지 툴에 비해 단순하면서도 의미적 표현력이 뛰어나 바이오 온톨로지와 같은 복잡한 응용의 온톨로지도 개념적으로 쉬운 방식으로 모델링 할 수 있다. 또한 OOM에서 지향하는 객체지향 패러다임은 표준 온톨로지 언어의 내부 스키마와 유사함으로 의미적 손실없이 표준 온톨로지 언어로 쉽게 변환되어 온톨로지들 간의 병합이 가능하다. This paper presents an approach to the development of bio-ontology using the Object-oriented Ontology Manager(OOM). OOM views a term of an ontology as an object which can be an instance or a concept. OOM facilitates the semi-automatic construction of ontologies by an intuitive interface and by inferencing with links among complicated and informative ontology terns. The main advantage of OOM is simple-to-use not compromising expressiveness so that ontologies in a complicated domain such as bioinformatics can be modeled intuitively. The ontologies constructed by OOM are easily exported to ontologies in other ontology languages without semantic loss because the structures of both the ontology by OOM and the ontologies in most of standard ontology languages are analogous. A translator to another standard ontology language is also provided by OOM so that the ontology can be combined with others to be applied to more complicated applications.
