        유휴공간을 활용한 공공예술 전시의 특성 -‘2022 부산 비엔날레’를 중심으로-

        부산의 공공예술은 1980년대부터 2000년대 초반까지 점진적 변화를 겪었으며 1987년 및 1991년에는 <부산 바다미술제>와 <부산 야외 조각대전>이 개최되었다. 이후 명칭이 변경 및 통합되며 현재 ‘부산 비엔날레‘에 이르고 있다. 부산 비엔날레는 도심 속 유휴공간을 활용하여 지역의 문화와 역사를 연계하는 공공미술의 새로운 영역을 선보이고 있다. 이에, 본 연구는 ‘장소 특정성’ 측면에서 전시공간으로 선정된 부산의 유휴공간이 어떠한 지역 역사와 문화를 담고 있는지 그리고 ‘역사 재현성’ 측면에서 각 전시공간은 지역의 역사를 어떻게 예술 작품과 연계되어 재현하는지 알아보고자 한다. 이를 위한 연구의 전개는 첫째, 문헌연구를 통해 공공예술의 사회적 기능의 변화에 대해 살펴보고 둘째, 예술공간으로 전이된 도심 속 유휴공간에 대해 살펴본다. 셋째, 2022 부산 비엔날레를 사례 대상으로 하여 ‘장소 특정성’과 ‘역사 재현성’을 기준으로 접근한다. 장소 특정성은 부산의 근대 역사를 내재한 공간을 전시 장소로 선정함으로써 부산의 과거와 지역성을 반영하며, 유휴공간을 활용한 장소 재생적 특성을 보여준다. 역사 재현성 측면에서는 전시공간이 갖는 역사적 가치와 사회적 변화를 공공예술로 시각화함으로써 지역의 정체성을 예술적으로 구현한다. 최근 시민사회의 성장과 공공성에 대한 담론이 활발해지며 공공미술 작품들에 대한 논의도 점점 확대되고 있다. 본 연구결과들은 향후 지속 가능한 공공예술에 대한 기초 자료가 될 것이라 사료된다.

        도시 자동차도로 터널 내부의 대기오염도 공간분포 특징

        Air pollution levels of gases and aerosol particles inside the Jeongneung and Hongjimun tunnels of the Naebu express way in Seoul were investigated through on-road measurement using a mobile emission laboratory (MEL) on February 8, 2011. The concentrations of NOx, CO2, number concentration of particles ranging 21-560 ㎚, and surface area of particles deposited on a human lung almost linearly increased with increasing distance from the tunnel entrance, and decreased rapidly before the tunnel exit. This trend was observed regardless of tunnel length and driving directions, which thought to be caused by semi-transverse ventilation facilities of the tunnels. The concentration increments per 1-m distance for NOx, CO2, deposited particle surface area, and number of particles ranging 21-560 ㎚ were 0.61~0.80 ppb, 0.16~0.21 ppm, 0.20~0.29μ㎡/㎤, and 117~192 particles/㎤, respectively. Average pollution levels inside the two tunnels for CO2, deposited particle surface area, and number of particles >5.6 ㎚ ranged 681~748 ppm, 246~381μ㎡/㎤, and 2.4~6.7×105 particles/㎤, respectively. In case of NOx, the maximum concentration exceeded 1 ppm. These pollution levels inside the tunnels are much higher than those at urban background sites. This result can be utilized as basic data to evaluate the effectiveness of present ventilation system for reducing the pollution level caused by vehicles inside the tunnels.

        MAD2 Expression in Ovarian Carcinoma: Different Expression Patterns and Levels among Various Types of Ovarian Carcinoma and Its Prognostic Significance in High-Grade Serous Carcinoma

        Background: Mitotic arrest deficiency protein 2 (MAD2) is a key component of spindle assembly checkpoint function, which mediates cell apoptosis through microtubule kinetics. Aberrant expression of MAD2 is believed to be associated with the development of chromosome instability. MAD2 also has a signihicant role in cellular drug resistance to taxane chemotherapeutic agents. Methods: Expression of MAD2 and p53 was investigated using immunohistochemistry in 85 cases of ovarian carcinomas. Clinicopathological data including progression-free survival were analyzed. Results: A significant (p=.035) association was observed between the grade of serous carcinoma and the expression level of MAD2. While low-grade serous carcinoma showed a lowlevel expression of MAD2, high-grade serous carcinoma showed a high-level expression of MAD2. We also determined that low-level expression of MAD2 was associated with reduced progression-free survival (PFS) (p=.016) in high-grade serous carcinoma. Conclusions: MAD2 expression in ovarian carcinoma is related to the grade of serous carcinoma and PFS of high-grade serous carcinoma. Expression level of MAD2 detected by immunohistochemistry may serve as an indicator in predicting the response of microtubule-interfering chemotherapeutic agents.

        Incremental Predictive Value of Plasma Renin Activity as a Prognostic Biomarker in Patients with Heart Failure

        Background: The association of N-terminal pro-B type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) and plasma renin activity (PRA) for the prognosis of the patients with acute heart failure (HF) has not been fully investigated. This study aimed to determine the association between NT-proBNP and PRA and to investigate the incremental value of PRA to NT-proBNP for predicting long term prognosis in patients with acute HF. Methods: Three hundred and ninety-six patients (mean age, 64.7 ± 15.9 years; 46.5% female) presenting with acute HF were enrolled between December 2004 and July 2013. Patients with newly diagnosed HF as well as patients with acute exacerbated chronic HF were included. The prognosis was assessed with the composite event of all-cause mortality and readmission for HF during a 2-year follow-up period. Results: The etiology of HF was ischemic in 116 (29.3%) patients. In a Cox proportional hazards model, log-transformed PRA (hazard ratio [HR], 1.205; P = 0.007) was an independent predictor of the composite outcome of all-cause mortality and readmission for HF in addition to age (HR, 1.032; P = 0.001), white blood cell (WBC) count (HR, 1.103; P < 0.001), and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) (HR, 0.978; P = 0.013). Adding PRA to age, sex, LVEF, and NT-proBNP significantly improved the prediction for the composite outcome of all-cause mortality and readmission for HF, as shown by the net reclassification improvement (0.47; P < 0.001) and integrated discrimination improvement (0.10; P < 0.001). Conclusion: PRA could provide incremental predictive value to NT-proBNP for predicting long term prognosis in patients with acute HF.

        지역아동센터 서비스 이용이 저소득가구 아동의 자기보호와 학교적응에 미치는 영향

        Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of using a community child center on the self-care and school adjustment of low-income children. Methods: Low-income children were classified into two groups according to the use of local children’s centers. The survey was conducted at 13 centers in a randomly sampled region among the community child centers in a metropolitan area. Data from the 5th year of the Korea Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) of first grade elementary school children was used. School adjustment was measured by elementary school students’ adjustment to school life. The collected data were analyzed by frequency, t-test, cross tabulation and regression analysis using SPSS 23.0. Results: First, there were a significant difference in self-care time according to the use of community child centers. Second, the use of community child center’s school adjustment was higher than that of non-users. Third, there was no mediating effect of the children’s self-care time on the influence of the use of community child centers on school adjustment. Fourth, in the analysis of controlling for demographic characteristics, it was found that the use of community child centers had a significant effect on school adjustment. Conclusions: The use of community child centers had a statistically significant relationship with the school adjustment of low-income children. This study suggests that these positive effects may have come from the various services of community child centers rather than the protection functions of community child centers. Based on the results of this study, we sought the effective utilization of community child centers to improve the school adjustment of low-income children. 연구목적: 본 연구는 지역아동센터 이용이 저소득가구 아동의 자기보호와 학교적응에 미치는 영향력을 살펴보고자 하였다. 방법: 저소득가구 아동을 지역아동센터 이용 여부에 따라 두 집단으로 구분하였다. 지역아동센터 이용집단으로 수도권에 소재한 지역아동센터 중 무작위로 표집된 13개 센터의 아동을 설문조사하였다. 지역아동센터 비이용집단으로 ‘한국아동․청소년패널조사(Korea Children and Youth Panel Survey[KCYPS])’ 초등학교 1학년 5차년도(2014) 데이터를 활용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 23.0 통계프로그램을 활용하여 빈도분석, t검증, 교차분석, 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 결과: 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지역아동센터 이용여부에 따라 자기보호시간에 유의한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 지역아동센터 이용집단은 비이용집단에 비해 학교적응 수준이 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 지역아동센터 이용이 학교적응에 미치는 영향력에서 아동의 자기보호시간의 매개효과는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 인구사회학적 특성을 통제한 분석에서도 지역아동센터 이용은 학교적응에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 지역아동센터의 이용은 저소득가구 아동의 학교적응 수준과 정적 관계를 보이고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 긍정적 효과가 지역아동센터의 보호기능을 통해서라기보다 지역아동센터의 다양한 서비스에서 비롯되었을 가능성을 제시하였다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 저소득가구 아동의 학교적응을 향상시키기 위한 지역아동센터의 효과적인 활용 방안을 모색하였다.

        도시 공간 속 옥외 광고에서 활용되는 미디어 파사드 특성 – K-Pop Square Media를 중심으로

        K-pop Square Media, located at COEX in Samseong-dong, has gained public attention and mass media focus by showcasing various three-dimensional videos on a large LED display. The video content on the distinctive large curved LED display utilizes a form of media façade technique, establishing itself as a new landmark and attraction within the spatial characteristics of the COEX Plaza. This study aims to examine the characteristics of media facades used in outdoor advertising in urban spaces, focusing on K-pop Square Media. The approach for this research involves three aspects: Firstly, examining the 'spatial characteristics' of urban public spaces by referencing Kevin Lynch's five elements constituting urban space and William J. Mitchell's exploration of smart spaces and changes in spatial paradigms. Secondly, analyzing the 'digital nature' of outdoor advertising through an examination of three types of Digital Out-Of-Home (DOOH) Media. Thirdly, exploring the 'technological advancements and content composition of media facades' by investigating types of display media (projection, LED screens), the inception of media facades, and the latest display technology like Anamorphic displays. Through this research, it becomes evident that K-pop Square Media exhibits characteristics of publicness, communicativeness, artistry, and placemaking through the spatial characteristics of smart spaces, the media-specific aspects of Digital Out-Of-Home advertising, and the content composition of media facades.
