Objective : This study was to investigate the effects of several herbs on the levels of MT1 and MT2 melatonin receptorsMethods : For this study, we carried out dementia assessment examination of 34 patients with memory disturbance who have come to Cheongju oriental hospital of Daejeon university from April 2005 to February 2006. This study classified the patients as none-dementia(ND), questionable dementia(QD), and dementia(DA) groups and analyzed the result of examination. Results : 1. The water extracts of Dimocarpus long (WEDL) induced the levels of MT2 melatonin receptor expression in a concentration-dependent manner without altering the levels of MT1 melatonin receptor expression. 2. The treatment with the water extract of Zizyphus vulgaris (WEZV) induced the levels of MT1 melatonin receptor expression and the levels of MT2 melatonin receptor expression was not affected. 3. The levels of MT1 as well as MT2 melatonin receptor expression were markedly up-regulated in the water extract of Fossilia ossis (WEFO) and the water extract of Ostreae caro (WEOC)-treated C6 cells. 4. The combination treatment with WEDL and WEZV induced not only the levels of MT1 melatonin receptor expression but also MT2 melatonin receptor expression, but the synergic effects of the combination treatment with WEFO and WEOC were not detected in C6 cells. Conclusion : The study provides important new insights into the possible mechanisms on the regulation of melatonin receptor synthesis by WEDL, WEZV, WEFO and WEOC.
디지털 방사선에서 조사선량과 관전압조절에 의한 원본영상과 처리영상 분석

Dynamic range on the digital detector can be a representation to the ratio of maximum and minimum of pixel value. Wide dynamic range and post processing ability of the digital detector made difficult to recognize visually to high or low dose images. We were evaluated a change of mean pixel value on the original and processed image, when we controlled the kVp, mA, exposure time on the digital detector. On the kVp of a constant condition, we were acquired an original and processed image by changes of mA, exposure time. According to the thickness of the subject under the same conditions, to determine a relation of pixel value and X-ray intensity, we used an aluminum step wedge. When mA and exposure times were changed under the kVp of a constant condition, the X-ray intensity was decreased by the reduction of the mean pixel value. In addition when kVp was increased in a constant condition of mAs, the mean pixel value was increased according to the increment of the X-ray intensity. Therefore, low kVp, high mA and short exposure time were a way to reduce a patient dose.
코팅 피치의 물성제어를 통한 흑연 음극재의 전기화학 성능 향상 연구

A pitch coating method was proposed for the purpose of improving the electrochemical properties of natural graphite. The synthesis conditions of pitch coating were optimized via measuring electrochemical properties of pitch-coated graphite anodes. As the synthesis temperature increased, the thermal stability was improved in addition to an increase in the softening point and residual carbon weight. However, the synthesis temperature of 430 ℃ resulted in the synthesis of a large amount of NI (NMP Insoluble) due to excessive condensation reaction. As the surface uniformity and coating thickness increased due to high thermal stability, the initial coulombic efficiency and rate capability of the pitch-coated graphite were improved. However, the graphite coated with the pitch containing excessive NI showed lower electrochemical properties than the uncoated graphite. NI had low dispersibility and formed spheres after heat treatment, so it formed the heterogeneous and thicker SEI layer. The optimum conditions for forming a uniform surface and an appropriate coating layer were investigated.
해초 Biochar를 이용한 Cr<sup>6+</sup>과 As<sup>3+</sup> 흡착 특성

본 연구에서는 제주도에서 채집한 Hizikia fusiformis biochar를 이용하여 수용액 상에서 $Cr^{6+}$과 $As^{3+}$ 중금속의 흡착 특성을 평가하였다. $Cr^{6+}$과 $As^{3+}$ 흡착에 있어서 최적 pH는 각각 pH 2와 pH 6이었다. 동역학적 실험 결과, 대부분의 중금속이 처음 100 min 동안 흡착이 되었으며, 300 min 이후 평형에 도달하였다. 또한, 해초 biochar의 $Cr^{6+}$과 $As^{3+}$ 중금속 흡착은 유사 1차 모델과 2차 모델에서 모두 잘 부합하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 평형 흡착 실험 결과는 Langmuir 모델에 잘 부합했고, $Cr^{6+}$ (25.91 mg/g)이 $As^{3+}$ (16.54 mg/g)보다 흡착량이 높았다. 본 연구 결과를 통해, 오염된 환경에서 해초 biochar는 $Cr^{6+}$ 및 $As^{3+}$ 중금속의 효과적인 흡착제임을 보였다. This study examined the adsorption characteristics of $Cr^{6+}$ and $As^{3+}$ in the aqueous solution by Hizikia susiformis biochar which was collected from Jeju Island. The optimal pH for $Cr^{6+}$ and $As^{3+}$ adsorption were 2 and pH 6, respectively. Kinetic data showed that the adsorption occurred during the first 100 min, and the most of heavy metals were bound to biochars within 300 min. Moreover, the kinetic data presented that the course of adsorption follows the Pseudo first and second order models. The equilibrium data were well fitted by the Langmuir model and the $Cr^{6+}$ adsorption capacity (25.91 mg/g) was higher than that of $As^{3+}$ (16.54 mg/g). From these results, the seaweed biochar was shown to be a efficient adsorbent for $Cr^{6+}$ and $As^{3+}$ metals in a contaminated environment.
기혼 중년 남성의 갱년기 증상이 자살 사고에 미치는 영향에서 주관적 행복감의 매개효과

본 연구는 기혼 중년 남성의 갱년기 증상이 자살 사고에 미치는 영향에서 주관적 행복감의 매개효과를 파악한 연구이다. 자료수집은 2020년 12월부터 2021년 1월까지 실시하였으며 인터넷 커뮤니티를 통해서 설문 응답에 자발적으로 참여한 기혼 중년 남성을 대상으로 하였다. 최종 연구 대상자는 갱년기 증상이 있는 199명의 기혼 중년 남성이었다. 기혼 중년 남성의 갱년기 증상, 자살 사고 및 주관적 행복감은 유의한 상관관계가 있었으며, 갱년기 증상과 자살 사고의 관계에서 주관적 행복감은 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과로 갱년기 남성의 주관적 행복감을 향상시키는 것이 자살 사고를 예방하는데 도움이 될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 따라서 연구자는 본 연구 결과를 토대로 추후 갱년기 남성의 자살 사고를 예방하는 간호중재 방안을 마련하여 그 효과를 확인해 볼 것을 제언한다. This study was to investigate the mediating effect of subjective happiness on the effect of andropause symptoms on suicidal Ideation in married middle-aged men. Final Participants were 199 married middle-aged men with andropause symptoms. Andropause symptoms, suicidal ideation, and subjective happiness of middle-aged men showed significant correlations. The mediating effect of subjective happiness on the relationship between andropause symptoms and suicidal ideation was verified. The findings revealed that an improving subjective happiness of men with andropause symptoms can be helpful for the prevention of suicidal ideation. Therefore, the researchers suggest that future researchers develop nursing interventions for the prevention of suicide ideation of men with andropause symptoms based on the results of the study, and evaluate its' effects.
전광(癲狂) 유사 증상을 나타낸 화병(火病) 환자 치험 1례

Hwa-byung is said as a Korean folk syndrome in DSM-Ⅳ,and that is translated into ``Anger syndrome``. In Oriental Medicine, Hwa-Byung is related with clonic emotional-stress, and include symptoms having the character of ``fire``.In this case, the patient had symptoms similar with schizophreniform disorder. We treated the patient with Sihoukan-tang, Ssanghwa-tang and Ziunkoron. And her condition was improved through these oriental medical treatment.

본 증례는 류마티스 관절염 환자에서 발생한 급성 횡단 척추염을 면역글로불린 정주로 성공적으로 치료하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Acute transverse myelitis (ATM) is a heterogeneous syndrome characterized by acute spinal cord dysfunction resulting in paresis and sensory and autonomic impairment below the level of the lesion. The etiology of ATM includes parainfectious, paraneoplastic, drug-induced, systemic autoimmune disorders, and acquired demyelinating diseases. ATM is very rare in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). A 79-year-old woman with RA, a recurring peptic ulcer, and congestive heart failure presented with acute weakness of both upper and lower extremities. She was diagnosed with ATM based on the results of laboratory and radiological tests. ATM is usually treated with high-dose glucocorticoid. However, we treated her with intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) considering the adverse events of high-dose glucocorticoid, and she improved. We report a case of ATM in a patient with RA successfully treated with IVIG. (Korean J Med 2015,89:604-608)

Among renewable and sustainable feedstock to replace fossil-based resources, marine biomass, macroalgae can be preferably considered due to several reasons: First, they contain an abundance of carbohydrate sources that are readily separated from the original feedstock. Second they are naturally well-grown thus multiple cropping is possible. Third, their cultivation techniques have been historically solidly established. Finally, it is known that their CO(2) remediation effect is much higher than that of landplants. Agar is a major carbohydrate source in macroalgae and it possesses around 70 wt%. In this study, we tried to directly transform agar into 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furfural (HMF) without saccharification step. In order to find best catalytic reaction conditions such as metal catalysts, solvents, acidity, time, temperature, high throughput screening was extensively performed. A range of metal catalysts were screened and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium(EMIM) salt, so called ionic liquid and aprotic polar DMSO were tested as solvents. When RuCl3 was used as a metal catalyst, 6.4 g/L of HMF could be obtained from 10 wt% agar solution.

The home pad is the one of critical interface method in Ubiquitous smart home to control service. However, many of current home pads only provide the interface with small icon which represent each device. We have researched innovative Mobile Home- Pad interface which utilizes the real picture of home environment. Also. the wireless control of this Mobile Home-Pad resolves the limitation of user’s mobility. In this paper, we explain Ubiquitous smart home environment and how newly developed Mobile Home-Pad communicates with devices.
