In order to accurately analyze the detailed hydraulic characteristics of the curved channel in the downstream of dam with the hydraulic structures such as bridge piers, RMA2 model which is one of two-dimensional models is applied to ChunCheon dam downstream curved channel. A series of hydraulic model tests are carried out for comparison studies. HEC-RAS model is also applied to the same site. There are no errors when velocities and water levels resulted from HEC-RAS model RMA2 model are compared with those of hydraulic model test on the straight channel. But, it is found that results of RMA2 model have a better agreement with those of hydraulic model test than those of HEC-RAS model on the curved channel with bridge piers. Additionally, RMA2 model can be predicted the eddy phenomena around bridge piers of the curved channel.

The existing of developed scour Equation have a very different value by boundary condition, hydraulic condition and bed condition. Therefore it may give rise to a serious trouble if it make a wrong application of the scour Equation. So this research of purpose is the predicting of scour depths, the method is that analysis river of feature and hydrauric feature for river in kangwondo young-seo region. And hydrauric model experiment of Scour phenomenon execute after the existing of calculate scour depths equation analysis sensitivity, assort a practical.

In The case of the bridge which is located in the downstream of the dam, effect of the running water and stability of the bridge is studing by using the Hydraulic model test. 1. The water level change of `Seosang1 bridge' along Chunchon dam spill occurred through this experiment more greatly than a numerical conspiracy. 2. Bight is the spot where a difference occurs in located bridge piers(p18-p28) greatly, and an influence of Chunchon dam occurs in greatly.

This study is to investigate harbor oscillation phenomenon according to combination of the wall structures by model experiment in a three dimensional wave basin. Six different types of wall combination were chosen through combination of erect wall, erect dissipation block, and san beach, wave height at selected points in the harbor were measured by electronic wave gage. Test results show that the wall structure composed solely of erect walls showed generally highest harbor oscillation. Since natural beach shows lower reflection than erect dissipation block do, we thought it would be more efficient to use natural beach for improved harbor oscillation. The result showed, however, that the erect dissipation block are more efficient than natural beach to attain less harbor oscillation. The reason seens that the erect dissipation blocks have better capability to control breaking wave on the surface of the structure.

We have used molecular biology technique to label the side chains and backbone of HBV preS1(1-56) with stable isotope (??) during E. coli over-expression and purified the protein to near homogeneity. The expression level of ?? labelled preS1(1-56) seems to be ∼15% of the total protein. to characterize the secondary structure of the labelled protein, circular dichroism was used. In different buffer conditions including pH 3.3 and pH 7.4 the protein seems to be devoid of any stable secondary structure probably suggesting that the N-terminal portion (preS1(1-56)) of HBV preS1 might be unstructured before binding to its target cells.

Objectives : This study aims to estimate the prevalence of the DSM-IV psychiatric disorders in Korean population using the Korean version of Composite International Diagnostic Interview (K-CIDI). Methods : Subjects were selected by taking multi-stage, cluster samples of 7,867 adult household residents, 18 to 64 years of age, in ten catchment areas. Total 78 trained interviewers administered the K-CIDI to the selected respondents, from June 1 to November30,2001. Results : Total 6,275 respondents completed the interview. Some 33.5% of respondents reported at least one lifetime disorder, 20.6% reported at least one-year disorder, and 16.7% reported at least one-month disorder. The most common lifetime disorders were alcohol abuse/dependence (17.24%), nicotine dependence/withdrawal (11.19%), specific phobia (5.16%), and major de-pressive disorder (4.25%). The lifetime prevalence of substance abuse/dependence (0.25%) and schizophrenia (0.16%) was very low. Nicotine and alcohol use disorder showed very high male/female ratio. Mood disorder and anxiety disorder were more prevalent among female than male. Conclusion : The prevalence of psychiatric disorders was high. In comparison with other studies, remarkable differences in distributions of psychiatric disorders across the areas and times were observed.

Cowden's disease, also known as various hamartomatous malformations of multiple organs, is a rare autosomal dominant disorder. The most important feature of Cowden's disease is an increased incidence of malignant neoplasm, particularly in the breast and thyroid gland. PTEN (phosphatase and tensin homologue deleted in chromosome 10) is a candidate tumor suppressor gene. Mutations of this gene are responsible for PTEN hamartoma tumor syndromes, including Cowden's disease, Bannayan-Riley-Ruvalcaba syndrome, Proteus syndrome, and Proteus-like syndromes. After identification of PTEN as the gene for Cowden's disease, the incidence of Cowden's disease was estimated to be 1 in 200,000. However Cowden's disease with malignant neoplasm is quite rare in Korea so far. Recently we experienced a family with Cowden's disease who carry a frame shift germline mutation(C.606del T) at 10q23, exon 6 of PTEN gene. The authors report this case with literature review.
