Management of indoor air quality of underground subway station is an important issue. The air handling unit (AHU) installed in the underground subway station is the main facility determining the air quality of station. Especially for removing particulate matters, it is important to operate the appropriate air filter. However, there is no quantitative test method for existing air filter in site. It is rarely known that the collection efficiency of air filter can satisfy the designed criteria or not. In this study, we set the reference method using the mini-volume air sampler inside the AHU to evaluate the collection efficiency of different types of air filters. In addition, we applied the portable instrument based on the light-scattering method to the efficiency test. The method we applied in this study can be used in the evaluation of air filter in site.

본 연구는 전파자원관리 패러다임을 중심으로 우리나라 전파자원 관리정책의 내·외적 영향요인들에 대해 고찰하고 이들에 의해 전파자원 관리정책이 어떻게 변화하였는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 통해 미래 지향적 전파자원 관리정책 수립을 위한 시사점을 탐색하는 것을 연구 목적으로 하였다. 분석에 따르면 크게 3가지 시사점을 확인할 수 있었다. 첫째, 전파자원 배분체계의 정립이 요구된다. 즉, 전파자원의 할당·배분 단계에서의 정책 참여자의 명확한 역할명시를 통해 전파이용자들의 이해를 높이고, 전파자원관리의 합법성과 투명성 제고가 필요하다. 둘째, 시장기반 전파자원 관리제도의 확대적용이 요구된다. 이를 위해 주파수 경매제의 법적 근거마련과 세부 운영방안 수립을 위한 신중한 접근이 필요하다. 셋째, 국내전파산업의 부흥과 국외 전파시장에서의 경쟁력 확보를 위한 전파자원 핵심기술 개발에 대한 지속적인 노력이 요구된다. Focusing on spectrum resources management paradigm, this study considers the internal and external factors influencing management policy on spectrum resources, and examine the changes about management policy on spectrum resources by influence factors. Further, based on the results of analysis, the paper suggests the implications for the future-oriented policy making of spectrum resources. The implication may be summarized as follows. First, the government needs to establish clearly on distribution system of spectrum resources. Namely, at a allocation and distribution stage, through clear statement of policy participation`s role, it is necessary to raise the understanding capacity of spectrum user, and improve the lawfulness and transparency of spectrum resources` management. Second, the application of the market-based management policy of spectrum resources need to extend farther. For this, it is needed to make a legal basis of spectrum auction and more specific operation plan. Third, it is needed to make efforts to develop a core spectrum technology for rehabilitation of spectrum industry and get a competitive power in spectrum market.
Synergistic effect of ulipristal acetate and vitamin D with HIFU on uterine leiomyoma

Objective: Uterine leiomyoma (UL), are noncancerous growths of the uterus that often appear during childbearing years and also called uterine fibroids. Recently, combination of ulipristal acetate (UPA) and high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) have been applied on UL treatment and cholecalciferol have been also suggested as a synergistic component but no pathway of efficacy was investigated. Herein, comparative proteome approach on leiomyoma cell line model was applied to investigate related pathways for UA treatment based on HIFU. Methods: Uterine leiomyoma cell line (GM10964) was treated with 10uM of ulipristal acetate (UPA) or with 10uM of UPA and 1uM of cholecalciferol(VitD3), respectively. After 24-hour incubation, cell was treated with 200W of HIFU using JC200D with home-made mount on transducer. And quantitative proteome analysis for each cell was performed using high resolution LC-MS platform. Results: Totally 5,286 proteins are identified among groups and gene ontology analysis showed that proteins which increased in HIFU combined with UPA and VitD3 were involved in mitochondrial metabolism, inferring apoptosis for cell death. Conclusion: Comparative proteome analysis revealed that combination of UPA and VitD3 on HIFU treatment for uterine leiomyoma showed the synergistic effect in term of apoptosis caused by mitochondrial metabolism.
Role of cytokines in atypical depression

<P><I>Background:</I> Atypical depression (AD) is considered a biologically and psychologically distinct subtype of depression. AD, contrary to melancholic depression (MD), may have different alteration in cytokine activity. <I>Aims:</I> We aimed to investigate the differences of cytokine activity between AD patients and MD patients. Among psychiatric patients visited to the Psychiatry Department, Korea University Medical Center, 105 patients with major depression who met the <I>Diagnostic and Statistical Manual</I> (DSM-IV) criteria based on clinical interviews using a Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV were recruited. Among 105 patients, 35 patients had atypical feature. We measured <I>in vitro</I> cytokines (interleukins) IL-2, IL-4, IL-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). <I>Results:</I> Decreased IL-4 and increased IL-2 was observed in AD patients. IL-6 and TNF-α level of AD patients showed no difference from the controls. <I>Conclusions:</I> Contrary to MD, AD has reversed vegetative symptoms, i.e. hypersomnia and hyperphagia. It is assumed that the phenotype difference between AD and MD might be related to Th1 cytokines (IL-2) and Th2 cytokines (IL-4) and not related to monocytic cytokines (IL-6, and TNF-α).</P>
Characterization of Glass Melts Containing Simulated Low and Intermediate Level Radioactive Waste

In order to examine the process parameters for the vitrification of Low and Intermediate Level radioactive Waste (LILW) generated from nuclear power plants, measurements of several melt properties was performed for four selected glasses containing simulated waste. Electrical conductivity and viscosity were determined at temperatures ranging from 1123 to $1673^{\circ}C$. The temperature dependences of both properties in the molten state showed a similar behavior in which their values decrease as the temperature increases. The values of the electrical conductivity and viscosity at a temperature of 1423K adopted in an induction cold crucible melter process were $0.27{\sim}0.42$ S/cm and $9.8{\sim}42$ dPas, respectively.

<P>We report preparation and intracellular release characteristics of the hollow mesoporous silica (HMS) nanoparticles composed of a hollow core, a mesoporous silica shell, and surface cyclodextrin (CD) gatekeepers connected with a glutathione (GSH)-responsive disulfide linker. The hollow core provided a large empty space with the capability of high drug loading. The CD gatekeepers kept the guest molecules in the hollow core and the nanochannel without releasing guests until an external stimulus was applied. Upon triggering by GSH, the disulfide bond on the surface of HMS was cleaved and the guest drug molecules were released. We also observed the effective intracellular release of DOX by HMS-SS-DOX-CD-PEG in the A549 cells which was found to express GSH at high levels. Furthermore, HMS-SS-DOX-CD-PEG increased cell death in a dose dependent manner.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>The hollow mesoporous silica nanoparticles composed of a hollow core, a mesoporous silica shell, and GSH-responsive CD gatekeepers are an efficient platform for the intracellular release of anticancer agents with high drug loading capability. <IMG SRC='http://pubs.rsc.org/services/images/RSCpubs.ePlatform.Service.FreeContent.ImageService.svc/ImageService/image/GA?id=c4nj01161a'> </P>
