This study was conducted to investigate the preventingeffects of OPB (Rehmannia glutinosa Libosch and Eleuth-erococcus senticosus Max extracts) and combined OPB/Calcium therapy on bone loss in ovariectomized rats. SixtySprague Dawley rats of 12-week-old were divided into eightgroups: OVX (ovariectomized), OPBL (OPB 50mg/kg),OPBM (OPB100mg/kg), OPBH (OPB 200mg/kg), OPBL/CAL(OPBL+CAL), OPBM/CAL (OPBM+CAL), OPBH/CAL (OPBH+CAL) and CAL (Calcium citrate 88.33mg/kg+1α, 25-dihydroxy-vitamin D3 33.33IU/kg). Bone mineraldensity (BMD), bone mineral content (BMC), bone strengthindices and cortical thickness were analyzed by peripheralquantitative computerized tomography (pQCT). pQCTscanning showed that OVX induced a significant decreasein trabecular bone mineral density and bone mineralcontent in the proximal tibia (-36.4±2.4%, -21.8±12.7%).These decreases were significantly prevented by theadministration of OPBM and OPBM/CAL. Cortical BMDand BMC of tibia were slightly enhanced by OPB and OPB/CAL. However there was no significant difference betweenOVX and OPB, OPB/CAL treated group. Bone strengthindices and cortical thickness were not significantly different.Our results suggest that OPB and combined OPB/Calciumtherapy are effective in preventing the development of boneloss induced by ovariectomy in rats.

Generally, in the sewage treatment sedimentation of sludge is very important. In this study SBR reactor sludge and input domestic sewage is used for sedimentation experiment. In the 2m depth, removal rate of domestic sewage is 20min. sedi.- 14.1%, 40min. sedi.- 26.7 %, 60min. sedi.- 34.4%, 90min. sedi.- 38.7%, 120min. sedi.- 40.8%, 150min. sedi.- 49.0%. Moisture content of SBR reactor sludge is over 99.2% and in the 1m 50㎝ depth moisture content is very quickly reduced. In the Sludge volume graph of SBR reactor sludge, because variation quantity of sludge volume is very few, we think proper sedimentation is 60 min.

IDDM (Insulin dependent diabetes mellitus) is believed to be an autoimmune disease and characterized by the immune activation against insulin-producing pancreatic beta cell. The identification and characterization of new autoantigens reactive with an activated immune System would heip to elucidate the pathogenic mechanism of this disease. Several autoantigens are trying to apply for diagnosis and prevention of IDDM. The NOD (non obese diabetic) mice have been the best model for studying the pathogenesis of human IDDM. To identify new autoantigens reactive with activated humoral immunity of NOD mice, the lambda gt11 cDNA library was constructed from NOD-derived pancreatic beta cell (MIN6N8a: mouse insulinoma cell) and screened with prediabetic NOD sera. Mine positive dones were selected from 2x10^(5) phage plaques. The 5'-end sequencing and homology searching showed that six clones from nine clones had over 98% sequence homolgy with the retroviral envelope gene. Full sequendng reveated that the cloned gene was a fragment of ecotropic retrovirus (emv-3) envelope gene. To confirm the immunoreactivity of doned retroviral envelope protein, the cloned gene fragment was expressed in an E.coli expression vector System. Western blotting showed that the recombinant envelope protein fragment also reacted with prediabetic NOD sera.

, The relationship between physical activity and cognitive performance was studied in the elderly women. Fifty volunteers (60-74 yrs) agreed to participate and were placed in 2 groups; exercise group(n=25; 68.72±4.22 yrs) and Non-exercise group(n=25; 69.52±5.1 yrs). The subjects who joined in the exercise group were asked to participate in exercise program(3 times/week, 80 min/day) for 12 weeks. The subjects n both groups were tested on the cognitive psychomotor performance (finger simple reaction time(SRT) and choice reaction time(CRT), tapping, and eye-hand coordination) at the beginning and the end of the 12-weeks program. For data analysis, mean and standard deviation scores were calculated, and ANOVAs and MANOVAs were used. There was an interaction between Group(2 exercise and non-exercise groups) and Time (pre- and post-tests) on all cognitive psychomotor performance tasks. Especially, each group was significantly interacted with Times on the performance of eye-hand coordination. After the exercise program, the exercise group was significantly better than the inactive group on all dependent variables (SRT and CRT, number of tappings, and performance scores of eye-hand coordination).

Up to the present, we have used general 3D modelling tool for 3 dimensions visualization of electronic parts. If we use general 3D modelling tool, we are consumed many time and effort because it is not optimized modelling of electronic parts. Therefore we need technical 3D modelling tool for electronic parts. In this paper, in order to solve this problem, we develop the graphic tool that model and visualize the electronic parts as 3 dimensions.

Routing region modeling methods for auto-routing system is used grid and non-grid methods Although physical elements are small, the grid method has disadvantage that decrease the auto-routing speed due to constraint with size of grid and board, which in it is increase memory size Shape based type(non-grid method) used region process type and the shape located in memory as a individual element, and this element consumed small memory due to unique data size In this paper we developed PCB(Print Circuit Board) auto-routing system using the auction algorithm method that 1) Could be reached by solving the shortest path from single original point to various destination, and 2) without any memory dissipation with the best speed. Also, the auto-routing system developed by Visual C++ in Window environment, and can be used in IBM Pentium computer or in various individual PC system
지방자치단체의 자연상징물 지정 및 활용방안 : 경상남도 창원시를 중심으로

본 연구는 각 지방자치단체가 제정한 자연상징물을 활용하여 지역경관을 개선하고 디자인 프로젝트를 활성화하여 지역의 정체성과 특성을 강화하기 위한 방안을 모색하였다. 전국의 각 자치단체는 다른 지역과 특별히 다른 차별성을 찾아내고 개발함으로써 발전역량을 넓히는데 최선을 기울인다. 그런 노력의 일환으로 자연자원을 배경으로 그 지방을 상징할 만한 캐릭터개발에 열을 올리고 있는데 대부분의 구(區)나 시군단위 자치단체는 상징목(象徵木) 및 상징화(象徵花)를 지정해 놓고 있다. 이런 소재를 활용하여 지역의 경관과 디자인을 특화시킬 수 있는 방안을 찾고 아울러 지방의 경쟁력과 정체성을 배가 시킬 수 있는 방안을 창안하였다. 경상남도 창원시를 선정하여 문헌조사를 통해 자연상징물의 지정유래와 근거를 분석하고 관리현황을 검증하였다. 아울러 상징목인 소나무와 상징화인 진달래를 활용하여 자연경관미를 살리는 동시에 그 정체성과 부합되는 환경디자인 요소를 제안하였다. 진입도로와 주요간선도로에 시목인 소나무를 집중 식재하고, 근린공원과 체육공원 등 주요 녹지공간을 상징목과 상징화를 중심으로 테마공원화하고, 도시의 주요 공공기관과 학교 등에 집중 식재하고, 식목운동을 통해 도시의 상징화와 상징목을 위주로 수목원을 조성하며, 그 품종의 다양화내지는 고급화를 위한 투자를 확대해야 한다는 제언을 담았다. 창원시의 자연상징물에 대한 관심과 전승을 위한 노력을 촉구하고 이를 토대로 시민이 만족할 만한 수준의 관리 및 조성에 정성을 쏟아야 한다는 결론을 담았다. 조례제정을 통해 시민이 지정한 자연상징물에 대한 투자는 그 정당성이 보장되는 것이다. 이런 과정을 통한 지역경관 개선노력은 시민의 공감이 수반될 것이며 지역의 특성과 정체성을 한층 강화시킬 도시경관 디자인 프로젝트의 핵심이 될 것으로 전망한다.
전유전체 서열 분석과 가시화를 위한 워크벤치 개발과 응용

An increasing number of genome sequencing projects results in explosive growth of whole genome sequences. Furthermore the number of studies on the functions of individual genes has also been rapidly increased. However on-memory algorithms are not applicable to the analysis of whole genome sequences, since the size of individual whole gene a ranges from several million base pairs to hundreds billion base pairs. In order to effectively manipulate the huge sequence data, it is necessary to use the indexed data structure for external memory. In this paper, we introduce the development and application of the workbench for the analysis and visualization of whole genome sequences using string B-tree that is suitable for the analysis of huge data. This system consists of two main parts, the analysis query part and the visualization part. The query system supports various transactions such as pattern matching, k-occurrence, and k-mer analysis. The visualization system helps biologists to easily understand whole genome structure and specificity by various kinds of visualization such as whole genome sequence viewer, annotation viewer, CGR (Chaos Game Representation) viewer, k-mer viewer, RWP (Random Walk Plot) viewer, and map viewer. We can find the relationships among organisms, support gene prediction in a genome, and study the function of junk DNA using our workbench. In this paper, we apply our workbench to investigating specific sequence such as avoided sequence, common sequence, and classifiable sequence.
