Purpose: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer in China and poses high morbidity and mortality. In recentyears, increasing evidence has indicated that microRNAs played important functions in the occurrence and development of tumors. The purpose of this study was to identify the biological mechanisms of miR-362 in CRC. Materials and Methods: Quantitative real-time PCR was carried out to assess the expression of miR-362 and SIX1. The Kaplan-Meier method was employed to evaluate the 5-year overall survival of CRC patients. The proliferative and invasive abilities of CRCcells were assessed by MTT and transwell assays. Results: miR-362 was significantly decreased in CRC tissues and cell lines, compared to the normal tissues and normal cells. Asignificant connection was confirmed between the overall survival of 53 CRC patients and low expression of miR-362. Downregulationof miR-362 inhibited the proliferation and invasion through binding to the 3'-UTR of SIX1 mRNA in CRC. Additionally, wediscovered that SIX1 was a direct target gene of miR-362 and that the expression of miR-362 had a negative connection with SIX1expression in CRC. SIX1 could reverse partial functions in the proliferation and invasion in CRC cells. Conclusion: miR-362 may be a prognostic marker in CRC and suppress CRC cell proliferation and invasion in part through targetingthe 3'-UTR of SIX1 mRNA. The newly identified miR-362/SIX1 axis provides insight into the progression of CRC.

Almond cheonggukjang was made and evaluated in order to improve nutritional value and quality of cheonggukjang with different addition levels of almond and soybean, 4:6, 5:5 and 6:4 (w/w). To make almond cheonggukjang, Bacillus subtilis was added to mixture of almond and soybean then fermented at 42℃ for 48 hours. Physicochemical, microbiological properties and sensory evaluation for almond cheonggukjang were conducted. In color, L* and b* values of almond cheonggukjang increased with increasing addition levels of almond. As addition levels of almond increased, there was no change in pH value of almond cheonggukjang. Slime production of almond cheonggukjang with 5:5 (w/w) ratio of almond and soybean was the highest among all samples. These results showed that the almond cheonggukjang exhibited effective growth of microorganisms with increasing addition levels of soybean. The amino nitrogen contents of almond cheonggukjang ranged from 164.85±1.12 mg% to 173.25±1.16 mg%. Almond cheonggukjang with 6:4 (w/w) ratio of almond and soybean and prepared by steaming showed the best results in sensory evaluation, compared to those prepared by steaming with 4:6 (w/w) and 5:5 (w/w) ratios. In conclusion, almond cheonggukjang added with 6:4 (w/w) ratio of almond and soybean and prepared by steaming was the best formula to improve nutritional value and quality of cheonggukjang.

Ma Jin-Ping,Yin Xue-Ren,Wei Tong-Lu,Liu Hai-Nan,Pei Mao-Song,Yang Sheng-Di,Jin Hui-Ying,He Guang-Qi,Guo Da-Long 한국식물생명공학회 2022 Plant biotechnology reports Vol.16 No.1
LRK10L-2 is known to be related to the plant disease response, little information is available about the relationship of LRK10L-2 and fruit ripening. The protein physicochemical properties, conserved domains, gene structures, subcellular locali- zation, expression patterns during grape fruit development and promoter activity of the members of grape LRK10L-2 gene family were explored in this study. A total of 109 LRK10L-2 family gene members were identified, and mainly distributed on chromosome 16. Almost all of them were located in the plasma membrane. Most of the LRK10L-2 genes contain four or five motifs, ranging from 0 to 5 introns and have the cis-acting elements related to hormones in their promoter regions. There were 20 pairs of tandem duplicates and 293 pairs of segmental duplication in LRK10L-2 family genes. It was proved that the expression of LRK10L-2 gene varied at the different fruit development stages of 'Kyoho' and its early-ripening bud mutant, ‘Fengzao’. The subcellular localization of VIT_16s0098g00160 and VIT_16s0098g00400 were in the plasma membrane, and had a significant enrichment of the GUS signal in N.benthamiana leaves for the promoter. The results lay a solid basis for the further functional researches of the LRK10L-2 genes for grape fruit ripening.
Peptidoglycans Promotes Human Leukemic THP-1 Cell Apoptosis and Differentiation

The innate immune system coordinates the inflammatory response to pathogens. To do so, its cells must discriminate self from non-self utilizing receptors that identify molecules synthesized exclusively by microbes. Toll-like receptors have a crucial role in the detection of microbial infection in mammals and insects. In mammals, they have evolved to recognize conserved products unique to microbial metabolism. These include lipopolysaccharide (LPS), lipotechoic acids, and peptidoglycans (PGN). We show here that TLRs, including TLR2, are expressed on the THP-1 human leukemia cell line. Activation of TLR2 signaling in THP-1 by PGN induces the synthesis of various soluble factors and proteins including interleukin-$1{\beta}$, interleukin-8 and TNF-${\alpha}$ and apoptosis of THP-1 with PGN dose and time dependence. Moreover, in this study we show that PGN induces apoptosis of THP-1 cells in a TNF-${\alpha}$-dependent manner. These findings indicate that TLR2 signaling results in a cascade leading to tumor apoptosis and differentiation, which may suggest new clinical prospects using TLR2 agonists as cytotoxic agents in certain cancers.

<P>Dorsal root (DR) axons regenerate in the PNS but turn around or stop at the dorsal root entry zone (DREZ), the entrance into the CNS. Earlier studies that relied on conventional tracing techniques or postmortem analyses attributed the regeneration failure to growth inhibitors and lack of intrinsic growth potential. Here, we report the first in vivo imaging study of DR regeneration. Fluorescently labeled, large-diameter DR axons in thy1-YFPH mice elongated through a DR crush site, but not a transection site, and grew along the root at >1.5 mm/d with little variability. Surprisingly, they rarely turned around at the DREZ upon encountering astrocytes, but penetrated deeper into the CNS territory, where they rapidly stalled and then remained completely immobile or stable, even after conditioning lesions that enhanced growth along the root. Stalled axon tips and adjacent shafts were intensely immunolabeled with synapse markers. Ultrastructural analysis targeted to the DREZ enriched with recently arrived axons additionally revealed abundant axonal profiles exhibiting presynaptic features such as synaptic vesicles aggregated at active zones, but not postsynaptic features. These data suggest that axons are neither repelled nor continuously inhibited at the DREZ by growth-inhibitory molecules but are rapidly stabilized as they invade the CNS territory of the DREZ, forming presynaptic terminal endings on non-neuronal cells. Our work introduces a new experimental paradigm to the investigation of DR regeneration and may help to induce significant regeneration after spinal root injuries.</P>

<P>We report the fabrication of amorphous indium-gallium-zinc-oxide (a-IGZO) thin-film transistors (TFTs) with a bottom-gate inverted-staggered structure with an etch stopper formed by a self-aligned process using back-side UV exposure. In addition to reduction in process complexity, the gate-to-source capacitance of an a-IGZO TFT is significantly reduced, resulting in fast TFT circuits. The fabricated TFT exhibits a field-effect mobility value of 42.59 cm2/V·s , a threshold voltage of 6.1 V, and a gate voltage swing of 374 mV/dec. An 11-stage ring oscillator made of TFTs shows a propagation delay time of 56 ns/stage at 25 V.</P>
Adaptive Control with a Fuzzy Tuner for Cable-based Rehabilitation Robot
Jin Yang,Hang Su,Zhijun Li,Di Ao,Rong Song 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2016 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.14 No.3
Since there are external uncertainties in the environment and the dynamic properties of human arm aretime-varying during movement, it is difficult to achieve good tracking performance during robot-aided rehabilitation. The purpose of this study is to develop an adaptive controller with a fuzzy tuner for a cable-based rehabilitationrobot. The fuzzy tuner can adjust the control parameters according to position error and the change of error, thus thetime-varying control parameters can be optimized by this tuner. To verify the proposed controller, simulation andexperiment studies using the cable-based rehabilitation robot are carried out. The rehabilitation robot is employedto complete two facilitation movements in the experiment. Results show that the adaptive controller can attain bettercontrol performance after tuning the control parameters.
