        An Analysis on the Theory of Public Art Design

        Public art plays an essential role in improving the urban environment aesthetically, and thus some advanced countries have established institu tional guarantees for it. Due to public nature and intrusiveness of this type of art, social authorities and civic organizations have adopted a system of deliberation and approval for it. Public art design is based on the relationship between the public, art, and the environment, embody ing a humanistic concern and a collective spirit. At the same time, its aesthetic function resonates with the public and contributes to the improvement of social and cultural quality. This paper explains its theory from four aspects: artistic modelling in the public environment, publicness and intrusiveness of public art design and institutional guarantee, model ling expression determined by the nature of public art design, and aes thetics and concept of public art design, and made analysis on the ideas, forms, and methods of public art design through specific examples.

        Research on the Color Evolution and Brush Development of Landscape Painting

        Landscape painting was independent from figure painting in the Sui Dynasty of China. At first, it was “Blue-and-Green Landscape” which was characterized with color expression. It matured in the Tang Dynasty and developed in the Song Dynasty. Then, the literati painters in the Tang Dynasty pioneered literati painting, with “Light Crimson Landscape” or “Ink Landscape” to lead landscape painting from realism to freehand, and established a combination of poetry, calligraphy, painting and seal. Then the literati in the Song Dynasty lent sparkle to the replacement of heavy green color with light crimson ink painting, and that became the mainstream of landscape painting. On this basis, the Yuan Dynasty painters developed a complete landscape painting formula, pushing the landscape expression to the peak. In the Ming and Qing dynasties, imitating the ancient style dominated the landscape painting world. At the same time, some painters pursued originality, forming the situation that the two forces were opposed in the same literati painting category. In modern times, due to the influence of Western culture, the traditional landscape painting has undergone great changes, and the new social life has prompted major changes in the content, form and method of landscape painting creation. Traditional techniques are combined with scientific modeling while ink and color complement each other, and the development of landscape painting has presented a diversified, rich, positive and prosperous appearance.

      • Rapid green synthesis of silver and gold nanoparticles using <i>Dendropanax morbifera</i> leaf extract and their anticancer activities

        <P><I>Dendropanax morbifera</I> Léveille is an oriental medicinal plant that is traditionally used in folk medicine and grows in a specific region of South Korea. We aimed to enhance the utilization of <I>D. morbifera</I> medicinal plants for synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). <I>D. morbifera</I> leaf extract acted as both a reducing and a stabilizing agent that rapidly synthesized <I>Dendropanax</I> AgNPs (D-AgNPs) and <I>Dendropanax</I> AuNPs (D-AuNPs). The D-AgNPs and D-AuNPs were characterized by ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, energy dispersive X-ray analysis, elemental mapping, field emission transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and dynamic light scattering. The characterizations revealed that the D-AgNPs and D-AuNPs were in polygon and hexagon shapes with average sizes of 100–150 nm and 10–20 nm, respectively. The important outcomes were the synthesis of AgNPs and AuNPs within 1 hour and 3 minutes, respectively, avoiding the subsequent processing for removal of any toxic components or for stabilizing the nanoparticles. Additionally, D-AgNPs and D-AuNPs were examined for cytotoxicity in a human keratinocyte cell line and in A549 human lung cancer cell line. The results indicated that D-AgNPs exhibited less cytotoxicity in the human keratinocyte cell line at 100 µg/mL after 48 hours. On the other hand, D-AgNPs showed potent cytotoxicity in the lung cancer cells at the same concentration after 48 hours, whereas D-AuNPs did not exhibit cytotoxicity in both cell lines at the same concentration. However, both D-AgNPs and D-AuNPs at 50 µg/mL enhanced the cytotoxicity of ginsenoside compound K at 25 µM after 48 hours of treatment compared with CK alone. We believe that this rapid green synthesis of D-AgNPs and D-AuNPs is a valuable addition to the applications of <I>D. morbifera</I> medicinal plant. D-AuNPs can be used as carriers for drug delivery and in cancer therapy due to their lack of normal cell cytotoxicity.</P>

        The Impacts of Childhood Trauma on Psychosocial Features in a Chinese Sample of Young Adults

        Objective The aims of the present study were to explore the occurrence of childhood trauma and importantly to determine the impacts of childhood trauma on psychosocial features in a Chinese sample of young adults. Methods A survey was carried out in a group of 555 university students by using Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ), Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS), Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), Dysfunctional Attitudes Questionnaire (DAS), Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ), and Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS). The moderate-severe cut-off scores for CTQ were used to calculate the prevalence of childhood trauma, and then psychosocial features were compared between individuals with and without childhood trauma. Results A proportion of 18.6% of university students had self-reported childhood trauma exposures. Subjects with childhood trauma reported higher scores of SDS, SAS, DAS, and psychoticism and neuroticism dimensions of EPQ (t=4.311–5.551, p<0.001); while lower scores of SSRS and extraversion dimension of EPQ (t=-4.061– -3.039, p<0.01). Regression analyses further revealed that scores of SAS and DAS were positively (Adjusted B=0.211–0.230, p<0.05), while scores of SSRS were negatively (Adjusted B=-0.273– -0.240, p<0.05) associated with specific CTQ scores. Conclusion Childhood trauma is still a common social and psychological problem. Individuals with childhood trauma show much more depression, anxiety, distorted cognition, personality deficits, and lower levels of social support, which may represent the social and psychological vulnerability for developing psychiatric disorders after childhood trauma experiences.

        <B>Abstract</B><P>We present a measurement of the anisotropic and isotropic Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO) from the extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey Data Release 14 quasar sample with optimal redshift weights. Applying the redshift weights improves the constraint on the BAO dilation parameter α(zeff) by 17 per cent. We reconstruct the evolution history of the BAO distance indicators in the redshift range of 0.8 &lt; z &lt; 2.2. This paper is part of a set that analyses the eBOSS DR14 quasar sample.</P>

        Numerical simulation and experimental investigation of the shear mechanical behaviors of non-persistent joint in new shear test condition

        Experimental and discrete element method were used to investigate the effects of joint number and its angularities on the shear behaviour of joint’s bridge area. A new shear test condition was used to model the gypsum cracks under shear loading. Gypsum samples with dimension of 120 mm×100 mm×50 mm were prepared. the length of joints was 2cm. in experimental tests, the joint number is 1, 2 and 3 and its angularities change from 0° to 90° with increment of 45°. Assuming a plane strain condition, special rectangular models are prepared with dimension of 120 mm×100 mm. similar to joints configuration in experimental test, 9 models with different joint number and joint angularities were prepared. This testing show that the failure process is mostly governed by the joint number and joint angularities. The shear strengths of the specimens are related to the fracture pattern and failure mechanism of the discontinuities. The shear behaviour of discontinuities is related to the number of induced tensile cracks which are increased by increasing the rock bridge length. The strength of samples decreases by increasing the joint number and joint angularities. Failure pattern and failure strength are similar in both of the experimental test and numerical simulation.

        QoS and SLA Aware Web Service Composition in Cloud Environment

        As a service-oriented paradigm, web service composition has obtained great attention from both academia and industry, especially in the area of cloud service. Nowadays more and more web services providing the same function but different in QoS are available in cloud, so an important mission of service composition strategy is to select the optimal composition solution according to QoS. Furthermore, the selected composition solution should satisfy the service level agreement (SLA) which defines users` request for the performance of composite service, such as price and response time. A composite service is feasible only if its QoS satisfies user`s request. In order to obtain composite service with the optimal QoS and avoid SLA violations simultaneously, in this paper we first propose a QoS evaluation method which takes the SLA satisfaction into account. Then we design a service selection algorithm based on our QoS evaluation method. At last, we put forward a parallel running strategy for the proposed selection algorithm. The simulation results show that our approach outperforms existing approaches in terms of solutions` optimality and feasibility. Through our running strategy, the computation time can be reduced to a large extent.

        An S-scheme photocatalyst constructed by modifying Ni-doped Sn3O4 micro-flowers on g-C3N4 nanosheets for enhanced visible-light-driven hydrogen evolution

        Carbon nitrides (g-C3N4) is considered to be the prospective semiconductor photocatalyst for photocatalytic H2 evolution. Nevertheless, it suffers from low charge transfer efficiency and fewer metal active sites. Thereby, Ni-Sn3O4/g-C3N4 photocatalysts were constructed by anchoring Ni-doped Sn3O4 micro-flowers on g-C3N4 via a feasible and straightforward solvothermal treatment. The prepared Ni-Sn3O4/g-C3N4 S-scheme heterojunction could improve the transfer and separation efficiency of photo-generated electron-hole pairs by facilitating the electrons transfer from Ni-Sn3O4 to g-C3N4. Moreover, the photocatalytic H2 production performance was ameliorated due to the established internal electric field and the energy band bending in Ni-Sn3O4/g-C3N4 S-scheme heterojunction. Meanwhile, the doping Ni in Sn3O4 exposed more active sites in Ni-Sn3O4/g-C3N4 heterojunction for producing H2. As a result, Ni-Sn3O4/g-C3N4-5 photocatalyst exhibited outstanding H2 yields of 1961 µmol h−1 g−1 under visible light irradiation in comparison with pure Ni-Sn3O4 (12 µmol h−1 g−1) and bared g-C3N4 (1391 µmol h−1 g−1). Furthermore, the S-scheme mechanism in Ni-Sn3O4/g-C3N4 heterojunction for producing H2 by oxidizing H2O was proposed. This study provides helpful guide for developing efficient g-C3N4-based photocatalytic systems.
