부모로 인한 성노출 피해아동의 모래놀이치료 사례연구 = A Study of Sand Play Therapy for Children exposed to the Sex by their Parents - focusing on self-esteem and sociality

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study targeted children living in children’s welfare facilities who were affected by sexual exposure of their parents. It examined cases of sand play therapy offered to 2 children who have difficulty in interpersonal relationship due to low self-esteem and sociality, and analyzed ‘the effect of sand play therapy for children affected by sexual exposure of their parents on their self-esteem and sociality’. It analyzed sand play therapy that was offered for 25 sessions from March to December 2012, once a week, for 60 minutes per session, and to verify the research result, it compared the log that was recorded by observing children’s linguistic and behavioral characteristics in each session, and self-esteem scale(SES) and sociality scale before and after therapy were compared and analyzed. The data was analyzed using SPSS 22.0. As a result of analyzing the self-esteem test and sociality test before and after sand play therapy, self-esteem did not show significant difference but the average after the experiment showed an increase compared to before the experiment. Behavior observation of each session revealed improvement in self-esteem, and sociality test showed statistically significant results. This can be interpreted that during the process of sand play therapy, the children affected by the sexual exposure of their parents showed improvement in their self-esteem through the interaction with their therapist, and the acknowledgement and acceptance of themselves led to the acknowledgement of others, eventually increasing their sociality. This study targeted children who have trouble in interpersonal relationship due to the sexual exposure of their parents and aimed to help improve their self-esteem and sociality through sand play therapy so that they can form healthy interpersonal relationship. The research result seen from above has a great significance in that it took a different approach from the previous studies that used sand play therapy for children who suffered from direct sexual assault or physical sexual abuse. It focused on children affected by sexual exposure, whose damage is hard to clarify or measure. It is also significant in that it expanded the use of sand play therapy and proved its effectiveness.
