        Development, Validation and Comparison of Artificial Neural Network and Logistic Regression Models Predicting Eosinophilic Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps

        Purpose: Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) can be classified into eosinophilic CRSwNP (eCRSwNP) and non-eosinophilic CRSwNP (non-eCRSwNP) by tissue biopsy, which is difficult to perform preoperatively. Clinical biomarkers have predictive value for the classification of CRSwNP. We aimed to evaluate the application of artificial neural network (ANN) modeling in distinguishing different endotypes of CRSwNP based on clinical biomarkers. Methods: Clinical parameters were collected from 109 CRSwNP patients, and their predictive ability was analyzed. ANN and logistic regression (LR) models were developed in the training group (72 patients) and further tested in the test group (37 patients). The output variable was the diagnosis of eCRSwNP, defined as tissue eosinophil count > 10 per high-power field. The receiver operating characteristics curve was used to assess model performance. Results: A total of 15 clinical features from 60 healthy controls, 60 eCRSwNP and 49 non-eCRSwNP were selected as candidate predictors. Nasal nitric oxide levels, peripheral eosinophil absolute count, total immunoglobulin E, and ratio of bilateral computed tomography scores for the ethmoid sinus and maxillary sinus were identified as important features for modeling. Two ANN models based on 4 and 15 clinical features were developed to predict eCRSwNP, which showed better performance, with the area under the receiver operator characteristics significantly higher than those from the respective LR models (0.976 vs. 0.902, P = 0.048; 0.970 vs. 0.845, P = 0.011). All ANN models had better fits than single variable prediction models (all P < 0.05), and ANN model 1 had the best predictive performance among all models. Conclusions: Machine learning models assist clinicians in predicting endotypes of nasal polyps before invasive detection. The ANN model has the potential to predict eCRSwNP with high sensitivity and specificity, and is superior to the LR model. ANNs are valuable for optimizing personalized patient management.

        Preparation and characterization of Ag2O/SWNTs photocatalysts and its photodegradation on tetracycline

        The Ag2O/SWNTs photocatalysts were prepared by precipitated method, the photocatalysts werecharacterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, EDS, BET, UV–vis DRS, XPS, PL and Raman. The photocatalytic activitieswere evaluated by degradation of tetracycline. The results showed that the composited photocatalystswere successfully prepared, the responded light was enhanced with increasing the supported dosage ofAg2O, and the photocatalytic activity was also improved. The enhanced photocatalytic activity wasattributed to the synergy effect of SWNTs and Ag2O, the recycled degradation of tetracycline exhibitedstability of Ag2O/SWNTs composited photocatalysts. Finally, the possible mechanism for transferredprocesses of photoelectrons and photoholes were proposed.

        High photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline under visible light with Ag/AgCl/activated carbon composite plasmonic photocatalyst

        Ag/AgCl/activated carbon (AC) plasmonic photocatalysts were prepared by precipitation and photoreduc-tion method. The as-prepared plasmonic photocatalysts were characterized by XRD, SEM, BET, EDS, UV–visDRS, XPS and PL. The results show the composite photocatalysts are successfully obtained and obviouslyexhibit surface plasmon resonance and effectively enhance the separation of h+/e . The photocatalyticdegradation rate of tetracycline (TC) could reach 97.3% in 60 min under visible light irradiation and cycledexperiments show stably photocatalytic activities. The active species analysis displays holes andsuperoxide radicals are the main reactive species. Photocatalytic kinetic indicates that the degradationprocesses obey pseudo first order kinetic equation.

        중국 상표권 침해에 대한 징벌적 배상제도의 실전탐색

        상표법에 징벌적 배상제도를 도입한 이래 최근 몇 년 동안 연구에서 뜨거운 화제가 되고 있다. 지식재산권 산업은 최근 왕성하게 발전하고 있으며, 국민들도 지식재산권을 보호하려는 의식이 끊임없이 상승하고 있다. 입법 측면에서 중국은 이미 지적재산권에 대한 징벌적 배상제도를 구축하였다. 그럼에도 불구하고 발전과정에서 특허권 침해문제가 끊이지 않고 있으며, 특히 상표권 침해가 심각한 것으로 나타났다. 그러므로 상표법에 징벌적 배상제도를 도입할 필요가 있다. 상표법의 징벌적 배상제도의 도입은 침해 행위를 억제하고 권리자의 이익을 보호하는 데 효과적이다. 그러나 최근 연구자가 조사한 자료에 따르면 상표법상 징벌적 배상 조항이 있음에도 법원은 이를 거의 사용하지 않고 대부분 보상적 배상 조항을 사용하고 있다. 상표법 63조의 규정이 허술하고 침해 인정 요건에 대한 세부 규정이 없어 논란이 크기 때문이다. 특히 배상지수의 산정, 절차적 보장, 법정 배상과 징벌적 배상 혼선 등 문제가 두드러지게 나타나고 있다. 이로 인해 실무 판사들 사이에서도 징벌적 배상의 조항을 적용하는 데 문제가 많다. 징벌적 배상제도는 징벌을 핵심기능으로 본 연구는 최근 징벌적 배상제도가 실전에 활용되고 있는 것에 근거하여 이론과 실전 측면의 문제점을 모색하고 발견된 문제점에 근거하여 일부 보완적 조언을 제시하여 징벌적 배상제도의 보완점을 찾고자 한다. Since the introduction of the punitive compensation system in the Trademark Law, it has become a hot topic in recent years. The intellectual property industry has been booming in recent years, and citizens’ awareness of protecting intellectual property rights has also been increasing. In terms of legislation, China has completed the construction of the punitive compensation system for intellectual property rights. However, in the process of development, there have been some infringement problems, especially in the trademark infringement. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce punitive compensation system in trademark law. The introduction of the punitive compensation system in Trademark Law can effectively curb the occurrence of infringement and safeguard the interests of the obligee. However, according to the information collected in recent years, the author found that although the Trademark Law stipulates the punitive damages clause, the court rarely uses this clause in the trial, and most of them use the compensatory damages clause. The main reason is that the provisions in Article 63 of the Trademark Law are relatively rough and the conditions for identifying infringement are not specified in detail, which leads to disputes in many aspects. In particular, there are some prominent problems such as determining the compensation base, perfecting the procedural guarantee and confusing the legal compensation and punitive compensation. As a result, there are still many problems in the application of punitive damages clause in practical judges. The punitive compensation system takes punishment as its core function and restraining as its objective function, so it should be applied in priority under the situation of multiple legal responsibilities. It is necessary to grasp the constitutive elements of punitive compensation liability in judicial judgment. At the same time, correct use of calculation rules. This paper, starting from practice, based on the punitive damages system in recent years in practice, to explore the system in theory and practice of the existing problems, and according to some of the problems found some suggestions for improvement, to promote the improvement and update of the punitive damages system.

        Redeposition mechanism on silicon oxide layers during selective etching process in 3D NAND manufacture

        3D NAND flash memory with vertically stacked cells has been developed to break through the limits oftechnology nodes. However, during the selective etching process, it is difficult to ensure the byproductsdiffuse away from the trenches in the multistacked layers. Once saturated, the byproduct causes abnormalredeposition on the SiO2 layers. This problem has restricted the development of high-density 3DNAND memory. To solve this problem, the composition and formation mechanism of the redepositedlayer must be clarified. In this study, a ternary-wafer system comprising a Si3N4/SiO2/Si3N4 stack was fabricatedto study the redeposition mechanism, and the morphology, elastic properties, and chemical compositionof the redeposited layer were clarified. The redeposited layer consists of spherical particles withelastic surfaces (average Young’s modulus of 24.17 GPa). The particles were confirmed to comprise colloidalsilica gel covered by silanols. By considering the chemistry of silica, the redeposition mechanismwas proposed as follows: colloidal silica gel is formed by the aggregation of silicic acids from Si3N4 etching,which adsorb onto the SiO2 layer through oxide bridges and hydrogen bonding. Our work will contributeto the development of high-density 3D NAND memory.

        Relationship between 18F-FDG PET/CT Semi-Quantitative Parameters and International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, American Thoracic Society/European Respiratory Society Classification in Lung Adenocarcinomas

        Objective: To investigate the relationship between 18F-FDG PET/CT semi-quantitative parameters and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, American Thoracic Society/European Respiratory Society (IASLC/ATS/ERS) histopathologic classification, including histological subtypes, proliferation activity, and somatic mutations. Materials and Methods: This retrospective study included 419 patients (150 males, 269 females; median age, 59.0 years; age range, 23.0–84.0 years) who had undergone surgical removal of stage IA–IIIA lung adenocarcinoma and had preoperative PET/CT data of lung tumors. The maximum standardized uptake values (SUVmax), background-subtracted volume (BSV), and background-subtracted lesion activity (BSL) derived from PET/CT were measured. The IASLC/ATS/ERS subtypes, Ki67 score, and epidermal growth factor/anaplastic lymphoma kinase (EGFR/ALK) mutation status were evaluated. The PET/CT semiquantitative parameters were compared between the tumor subtypes using the Mann–Whitney U test or the Kruskal–Wallis test. The optimum cutoff values of the PET/CT semi-quantitative parameters for distinguishing the IASLC/ATS/ERS subtypes were calculated using receiver operating characteristic curve analysis. The correlation between the PET/CT semi-quantitative parameters and pathological parameters was analyzed using Spearman’s correlation. Statistical significance was set at p < 0.05. Results: SUVmax, BSV, and BSL values were significantly higher in invasive adenocarcinoma (IA) than in minimally IA (MIA), and the values were higher in MIA than in adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS) (all p < 0.05). Remarkably, an SUVmax of 0.90 and a BSL of 3.62 were shown to be the optimal cutoff values for differentiating MIA from AIS, manifesting as pure ground-glass nodules with 100% sensitivity and specificity. Metabolic-volumetric parameters (BSV and BSL) were better potential independent factors than metabolic parameters (SUVmax) in differentiating growth patterns. SUVmax and BSL, rather than BSV, were strongly or moderately correlated with Ki67 in most subtypes, except for the micropapillary and solid predominant groups. PET/CT parameters were not correlated with EGFR/ALK mutation status. Conclusion: As noninvasive surrogates, preoperative PET/CT semi-quantitative parameters could imply IASLC/ATS/ERS subtypes and Ki67 index and thus may contribute to improved management of precise surgery and postoperative adjuvant therapy.
