Quantum Entanglement in a Graphene Sheet

        Zhan-Ning Hu,Kee-Su Park,이경수 한국물리학회 2009 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.54 No.2

We present the quantum entanglement and the thermal entanglement in a graphene layer. The model Hamiltonian is chosen within an effective-mass approximation, including the interaction of intervalley and intravalley scattering processes. We nd that the degenerate ground state is unentangled and that the thermal concurrence decreases down to zero as the temperature increases. A new maximally entangled quantum state is observed from the excited states of the system by using a proper choice of the Hamiltonian parameters. Photocatalytic Degradation of Rhodamine B via Fe-g-C3N4 Activated Sulfate Radical-Based Advanced Oxidation Processes and the Synergistic Mechanism

        Zhan Xinyuan,She Zhixiang,Yue Zhengbo,Hu Fupeng,Wang Guangcheng,Wang Shaoping,Li Wei,Liu Bing,Wang Jin 한국화학공학회 2024 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.41 No.1

Fe-doped g-C 3 N 4 has been proven to have the potential of visible light photocatalysis, but its catalytic activity of peroxymonosulfate (PMS) is neglected. Herein, the complex advanced oxidation processes of Fe-g-C 3 N 4 mediated PMS and visible light photocatalysis was developed, named as Vis/Fe-g-C 3 N 4 /PMS system, whose eff ects and synergistic mechanism for decomposing Rhodamine B (RhB) was evaluated. The coupling of sulfate radicals and photocatalysis for RhB degradation showed that the synergistic effi ciency ( η Syn ) and factor ( S c ) were 20.1% and 4.82, respectively, with a degradation effi ciency of 99.8%. Iron species dispersed on g-C 3 N 4 provided active sites for PMS activation to generate sulfate radicals, simultaneously reduced the forbidden band, and separated the photo-generated charges of g-C 3 N 4 . h + , SO 4 · ‾ and 1 O 2 were the main active species, and the increase of 1 O 2 was the cause of the synergistic eff ect. The possible degradation path of RhB by this coupling system was proposed. Our fi ndings prove that Vis/Fe-g-C 3 N 4 /PMS system has a great potential to decompose dye wastewater, and also to be an environmental remediation perspective.

FRAME AND LATTICE SAMPLING THEOREM FOR SUBSPACES OF L2(R)

        Zhan-wei Liu,Guo-en Hu 한국전산응용수학회 2009 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.27 No.1

In this paper, a necessary and sufficient condition for lattice sampling theorem to hold for frame in subspaces of L2(R) is established. In addition, we obtain the formula of lattice sampling function in frequency space. Furthermore, by discussing the parameters in Theorem 3.1, some corresponding corollaries are derived. Theoretical and experimental study on load-carrying capacity of combined members consisted of inner and sleeved tubes

        Hu, Bo,Gao, Boqing,Zhan, Shulin,Zhang, Cheng Techno-Press 2013 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.45 No.1

Load-carrying capacity of combined members consisted of inner and sleeved tubes subjected to axial compression was investigated in this paper. Considering the initial bending of the inner tube and perfect elasto-plasticity material model, structural behavior of the sleeved member was analyzed by theoretic deduction, which could be divided into three states: the elastic inner tube contacts the outer sleeved tube, only the inner tube becomes plastic and both the inner and outer sleeved tubes become plastic. Curves between axial compressive loads and lateral displacements of the middle sections of the inner tubes were obtained. Then four sleeved members were analyzed through FEM, and the numerical results were consistent with the theoretic formulas. Finally, experiments of full-scale sleeved members were performed. The results obtained from the theoretical analysis were verified against experimental results. The compressive load-lateral displacement curves from the theoretical analysis and the tests are similar and well indicate the point when the inner tube contacts the sleeved tube. Load-carrying capacity of the inner tube can be improved due to the sleeved tube. This paper provides theoretical basis for application of the sleeved members in reinforcement engineering.

      • Growth Inhibition and Apoptosis Induction of Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells by Apogossypolone

        Zhan, Yong-Hua,Huang, Xiao-Feng,Hu, Xing-Bin,An, Qun-Xing,Liu, Zhi-Xin,Zhang, Xian-Qing Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.3

Aims and Background: Prostate cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in the male reproductive system, which causes the second most cancer deaths of males, and control of angiogenesis in prostate lesions is of obvious importance. This study assessed the effect of apogossypolone (ApoG2) on proliferation and apoptosis of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). Subjects and Methods: HUVECs were treated with different concentrations of ApoG2. The survival rate of HUVECs were determined by MTT assay. Utrastructural changes of HUVECs were assessed with transmission electron microscopy. Apoptosis in HUVECs was analyzed by flow cytometry and cell migration by Boyden chamber assay. Matrigel assays were used to quantify the development of tube-like networks. Results: ApoG2 significantly inhibited HUVEC growth even at 24 h (P<0.05). The inhibitory effect of ApoG2 is more obvious as the concentration and the culture time increased (P<0.05). These results indicate that ApoG2 inhibits the proliferation of HUVECs in a time- and concentration-dependent manner with increase of the apoptosis rate. Besides, ApoG2 reduced the formation of total pseudotubule length and network branches of HUVECs. Conclusions: The results suggest that ApoG2 inhibits angiogenesis of HUVECs by growth inhibition and apoptosis induction.

Effects of Nitrogen Sources and C/N Ratios on the Lipid-Producing Potential of Chlorella sp. HQ

Zhan, Jingjing,Hong, Yu,Hu, Hongying The Korean Society for Microbiology and Biotechnol 2016 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.26 No.7

Microalgae are being researched for their potential as attractive biofuel feedstock, particularly for their lipid production. For maximizing biofuel production, it is necessary to explore the effects of environmental factors on algal lipid-producing potential. In this study, the effects of nitrogen (N) sources (NO2-N, NO3-N, urea-N, NH4-N, and N-deficiency) and carbon-to-nitrogen ratios (C/N= 0, 1.0, 3.0, and 5.0) on algal lipid-producing potential of Chlorella sp. HQ were investigated. The results showed that for Chlorella growth and lipid accumulation potential, NO2-N was the best amongst the nitrogen sources, and NO3-N and urea-N also contributed to algal growth and lipid accumulation potential, but NH4-N and N-deficiency instead caused inhibitory effects. Moreover, the results indicated that algal lipid-producing potential was related to C/N ratios. With NO2-N treatment and carbon addition (C/N = 1.0, 3.0, and 5.0), total lipid yield was enhanced by 12.96-20.37%, but triacylglycerol (TAG) yields decreased by 25.52-94.31%. As for NO3-N treatment, carbon addition led to a 17.82-57.43%/25.86-82.67% reduction of total lipid/TAG yields. When NH4-N was used as the nitrogen source, total lipid/TAG yields were increased by 46.67-113.33%/28.99-74.76% with carbon addition. The total lipid/TAG yields of urea-N treatment varied with C/N ratios. Overall, the highest TAG yield (TAG yield: 38.75 ± 5.21 mg/l; TAG content: 44.16 ± 4.35%) was achieved under NO2-N treatment without carbon addition (C/N = 0), the condition that had merit for biofuel production.

Investigation of morphological changes of HPS membrane caused by cecropin B through scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy

        Han Hu,Changsheng Jiang,Binzhou Zhan,Nan Guo,Zhonghua Li,Xiaozhen Guo,Yang Wang,Binlei Liu,Qigai He 대한수의학회 2021 Journal of Veterinary Science Vol.22 No.5

Background: Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) have been identified as promising compounds for consideration as novel antimicrobial agents. Objectives: This study analyzed the efficacy of cecropin B against Haemophilus parasuis isolates through scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) experiments. Results: Cecropin B exhibited broad inhibition activity against 15 standard Haemophilus parasuis (HPS) strains and 5 of the clinical isolates had minimum inhibition concentrations (MICs) ranging from 2 to 16 μg/mL. Microelectrophoresis and hexadecane adsorption assays indicated that the more hydrophobic and the higher the isoelectric point (IEP) of the strain, the more sensitive it was to cecropin B. Through SEM, multiple blisters of various shapes and dents on the cell surface were observed. Protrusions and leakage were detected by AFM. Conclusions: Based on the results, cecropin B could inhibit HPS via a pore-forming mechanism by interacting with the cytoplasmic membrane of bacteria. Moreover, as cecropin B concentration increased, the bacteria membrane was more seriously damaged. Thus, cecropin B could be developed as an effective anti-HPS agent for use in clinical applications.

      • Tracking Multiple-person using Sparse Stereo Information

        Keli Hu,Yuzhang Gu,Shigen Shen,Cheng Zhang,Yunlong Zhan 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Vol.8 No.9

In this study, we address the problem of multi-person detection and tracking in challenging scenes using sparse stereo information. In each frame, only a sparse set of object feature points are extracted. All these feature points are then projected onto a plan-view map, and grouped into several clusters by employing the biometric information, the optical flow information of object feature points, as well as the width of a person. By producing clusters, the location of a possible person can be determined. In addition, a Modified Joint Probabilistic Data Association Filter (MJPDAF) is proposed for improving the performance of measurements association during the people tracking process. Compared to the traditional JPDAF, the methods for the construction of the validation matrix and the calculation of association probabilities are improved. Experiments on challenging datasets demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is robust for people detection and tracking through fixed stereo vision.
