<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Here, we show that the surface wettability of ultrathin (6–16nm) TiO2 films deposited by atomic layer deposition (ALD) can be tuned by an ultraviolet (UV) light treatment. The controllability is also shown to be largely dependent on the deposition temperature and thickness. The surface of a 16-nm-thick ALD TiO2 film deposited at 200°C was shown to be super-hydrophilic (water contact angle <1°) by an UV treatment (~3mW/cm2) applied for only 8min due to the photocatalytic activity of the films, while thinner films and films deposited at lower temperatures were not. Microscopic and optical characterizations prove that the difference mainly stems from the crystallinity, the bandgap energy and the defect density of the TiO2 films.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> ALD TiO2 surface shows UV-induced wettability by photocatalytic activity. </LI> <LI> The wettability is dependent on the thickness and the deposition temperature. </LI> <LI> Bandgap and defect density affect the generation and the recombination of carriers. </LI> <LI> 16nm-thick ALD TiO2 deposited at 200°C becomes super-hydrophilic by UV treatment. </LI> </UL> </P>
High Speed Milling of Titanium Alloy
CHEN, Ming,Lee, Youngmoon,Yang, Seunghan,Jang, Seungil 한국공작기계학회 2003 한국생산제조학회지 Vol.12 No.5
The paper will present chip formation mechanism and surface integrity generation mechanism based on the systematical experimental tests. Some basic factors such as the end milling cutter tooth number, cutting forces, cutting temperature, cutting vibration, the chip status, the surface roughness, the hardness distribution and the metallographic texture of the whined surface layer are involved, The chip formation mechanism is typical thermal plastic shear localization at high cutting speed with less number of shear ribbons and bigger shear angle than that at low speed, which means lack of chip deformation. The high cutting speed with much more cutting teeth will be beneficial to the reduction of cutting forces, enlarge machining stability region, depression of temperature increment, anti-fatigability as well as surface roughness. The buns always exist both at low cutting speed and at high Cutting speed. So the deburring process should be arranged for milling titanium alloy in any case.

His magnetic resonance imaging of brain revealed the absence of the olfactory bulb.</P><P><B>Diagnosis:</B></P><P>His karyotype was 46 XY. Sanger sequencing of the <I>KAL1</I> gene revealed no mutations. Diagnostic exome sequencing identified a prokineticin-receptor 2 (<I>PROKR2</I>) gene variant, c.337T > C (p.Tyr113His), previously reported to be a pathogenic mutation; we confirmed the presence of the mutation via Sanger sequencing of the coding exons of <I>PROKR2</I>. His apparently unaffected mother and sister, but not his father, were heterozygous for the <I>PROKR2</I> Tyr113His mutation.</P><P><B>Lessons:</B></P><P>This work advances our understanding of the role played by PROKR signaling and the mode of inheritance of the gene in patients with KS.</P>
