박영남(Youngnam Park),김종영(Jongyoung Kim),윤희병(Heebyung Yoon) 한국정보과학회 2011 한국정보과학회 학술발표논문집 Vol.38 No.2B

Intelligent robots which perform various missions have limited battery capacity. Expecially, the robot which operates in dynamic environment need power management to extend robot's operation time. In this paper, we propose CAPMS(Context-Aware Power-Management System) to effectively manage the battery consumption of the robot component in the middleware-level by using context information for robot power management. We define component model which has five power state and sub-modes of active state. The proposed technique maintains robot's performance to achieve it's goal and also change component's state according to context information. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach, we simulate CAMPS with power consumption data of the small Unmaned Ground Vehicle.
Hot Rolling of Flame Retardant Magnesium and Aluminum Alloys to Produce a Cladding Plate
Song, Youngnam,Kim, Jung Seok,Park, Sung Hyuk,Kim, Hyung-gyu,Won, Chanhee,Kim, Ju-Seong,Yoon, Jonghun Korean Society for Precision Engineering 2018 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.19 No.4
In order to facilitate the adoption of bimetallic clad sheets, which are composed of flame retardant Mg and Al alloys, as structural materials in transportation vehicles, the rolling speed, asymmetric roll speed ratio, and thickness of flame retardant Mg sheets have been examined with a roll bonding process at an elevated temperature. As the rolling speed increases, the required reduction ratio to make a full adhesion increases at a rate of the 2nd order to compensate for the insufficient holding time. The asymmetric ratio in the speed of the upper and lower rolls does not substantially influence the cladding integrity between the flame retardant Mg and Al6005 strips. The DRXed grain structure in flame retardant Mg cannot impose substantial contact pressure at the interface during the roll bonding process, which necessitates a high reduction ratio to induce sufficient contact pressure for bonding. The larger DRXed grain structure induced by large plastic deformation in the initial Mg strip is subject to producing a thicker intermetallic layer when the minimum reduction ratio is achieved between the flame retardant Mg and Al6005 alloys. These conclusions are based on EDS line and point analyses at the Mg/Al interface and the results of SEM investigations.
Characterization of glass viscosity with parallel plate and rotational viscometry
Song, Youngnam,Won, Chanhee,Kang, Seong-hoon,Lee, Howon,Park, Sung-Jun,Park, Sung Hyuk,Yoon, Jonghun Elsevier 2018 Journal of non-crystalline solids Vol.486 No.-

Abstract

Glass materials have been applied as insulators during hot extrusion of titanium- and nickel-based alloys to reduce the friction and thermal conduction in the Ugine-Séjournet process. In this research, parallel plate viscometry (PPV) and rotational viscometry (RV) tests were carried out to characterize the viscosity of glass materials such as lead-borate, potassium-lead-silicate, and potassium-sodium-lead-silicate, quantitatively. Herein, we propose a new equation that can be used to predict an extensive range of viscosities from the softening to the melting point. This equation demonstrates more accurate predictions compared with the conventional Vogel–Fulcher–Tamman (VFT), the Avramov&Milchev (AM) and the Mauro-Yue-Ellison-Gupta-Allan (MYEGA) equations.

Modeling of Adjacent Channel Interference in Heterogeneous Wireless Networks
Minjae Kim,Youngnam Han,Youngkeun Yoon,Young-Jun Chong,Hyuckjae Lee IEEE 2013 IEEE Communications Letters Vol.17 No.9

This letter proposes a new model for the aggregate adjacent channel interference (ACI) received from nearby terminal stations (TSs) of heterogeneous wireless networks. It is well known that lognormal distribution approximates the aggregate received signal, but we found that it does not perform well for ACI-modeling among coexisting TSs. We propose a weighted sum of lognormals-based approximation (WSLA) where the probability density function (PDF) of the aggregate ACI appears in the form of a weighted sum of lognormals. The closed-form downlink outage probabilities with both lognormal approximation and WSLA are also derived. Through simulations, we demonstrate that the proposed approximation outperforms the lognormal one. The WSLA can also be applied to a dual slope channel model and extended to model the aggregate interference in inter-cells or sensor networks.

The genus Nysius (Hemiptera: Lygaeidae) are polyphagous pests of various plants that damage seeds, foliage, and flowers. Here, we studied the life-table parameters and adult performances of Nysius plebeius Distant and Nysius hidakai Nakatani after exposure to five radiofrequencies: 0 (control), 5, 10, 20, and 30 kHz in infested perilla seeds. In addition, we measured the follow on effects of treatment for four generations (Parent, F1-, F2-, and F3-gen eration), for both Nysius species. Radiofrequency application significantly affected the life-table parameters of both Nysius species. Radiofrequency exposures affected bug oviposition, developmental period, adult weight, and longevity. Exposure also negatively affected the fecundity of subsequent generations; total developmental period from egg to adult emergence was longer while adult longevity was shorter in the radiofrequency treatments than in the untreated control. Low radiofrequency levels had the greatest effect on the life-table parameters of Nysius species, with the lowest rate of adult emergence and the shortest adult longevity at 5 kHz. The potential of using Nysius bug susceptibilities to radiofrequency as an alternative to chemical treatment is discussed.

The perilla seed bugs, Nysius plebeius Distant and Nysius hidakai Nakatani, are emerging pests of several field crop species including perilla crop in Korea. Here, we investigated the oviposition, nymphal mortality, development, adult emergence, adult longevity, adult weight and female ratio of N. plebeius and N. hidakai on multiple (MC) and double (DC) combinations of five crop seed species: perilla [Perilla frutescens (L.) Britton.], sesame (Sesamum indicum L.), sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.)], proso millet (Panicum miliaceum L.), and foxtail millet (Setaria italic L.) in no-choice test. The life-history variables of N. plebeius and N. hidakai were significantly influenced by the crop seed combinations. The most preferred crop seed combinations for oviposition were MC (perilla + sorghum + sesame + proso millet + foxtail millet), followed by DC (perilla + foxtail millet and perilla + sorghum), whereas the least preferred seed combination was DC (proso millet + foxtail millet). Both Nysius sp. were developed faster in MC (perilla + sorghum + sesame + proso millet + foxtail millet), with minimal nymphal mortality, higher adult emergence, longer adult longevity and heavier adult weight. The positive adult bug’s performance on the MC (perilla + sorghum + sesame + proso millet + foxtail millet) may be due to the nutrient contents and physicochemical components associated with the crop seeds. Further, the findings of this study are discussed in terms of bug’s behavioral response to crop seed species combinations and management strategies of Nysius sp. as an alternative to chemical management.
