최인훈의 『화두』에 나타난 미국 체류의 의미

최인훈은 1973년 아이오와 대학의 국제작가초청프로그램(International Writing Program)에 참가하기 위해 도미하여 약 3년간 미국에 체류하였다. 그는 이 기간에 있었던 일을 『화두』에서 소상히 밝히고 있다. 『화두』의 주인공-화자는 모어(母語)로 작품을 써야 하는 작가로서의 처지와 이민 가족의 구성원이라는 개인적인 상황이 복잡하게 맞물려 있는 가운데 귀국 시기를 놓치고 미국에 눌러앉게 된다. 이런 화자의 모습은 이 시기 최인훈의 모습과 별로 다르지 않을 것이다. 『화두』에는 화자에게 프로그램이 의미하는 것이 무엇이었는지, 프로그램이 끝난 후 곧바로 귀국할 수 없었던 이유와 마침내 미국 체류를 끝내고 귀국할 수 있었던 심리적 근거가 무엇이었는지 알려주는 단서들이 곳곳에 흩어져 있다. 이 글은 이들을 연결해서 미국 체류 기간 동안 있었던 사건들과 그 속에서 펼쳐진 사유들을 서사적으로 의미 있는 전체로서 이해해 보려 하였다. 『화두』를 대상으로 한 기존의 논의들은 이 작품이 지닌 독특한 소설양식과 이러한 양식을 빌려 펼쳐내는 복잡한 사유들, 그리고 최인훈이 자기 작품에 대해 내리고 있는 평가와 의미부여 등에 관심을 가져왔다. 하지만 이들 사유가 사건들과 어떻게 관련을 맺고 있는지, 또 이들이 시간적인 계기 속에서 어떤 연속성을 지니고 있는지에 대해서는 크게 관심을 기울이지 않았다. 이렇게 된 데는 『화두』가 시간적인 순서를 따라 서사가 전개되고 있지 않는데다 현재와 과거 사이의 연관성이 분명하지 않고 시간적 연속성 위에서 변화하는 어떤 흐름을 포착해 내기가 쉽지 않다는 점도 영향을 미쳤을 것이다. 이 논문은 연대기적 순서를 따라 시간적인 연속성을 고려하면서 사건들과 화자의 사유를 재배치 하여 읽으려 하였다. 이를 통해 화자가 미국 체류 이후 자신에게 주어진 문제를 해결해 가는 과정과 그 속에서 드러내는 심경의 변화를 확인해 보고자 하였다. 기존 논의에서 『화두』는 자주 자서전이나 그와 유사한 작품으로 이해되어 왔지만, 실제성에 근거한 것처럼 보이는 이야기 가운데는 실제 사실과 다른 경우가 더러 있다. 이 가운데는 최인훈 자신이 의도적으로 사실과 다르게 서술한 것도 있고, 무의식적인 실수처럼 보이는 것도 있다. 이 논문은 이들이 작가의 미학적 의도나 지향점을 보다 뚜렷이 드러내줄 수 있다는 판단에 따라 이들을 참조하며 작품을 이해하려 하였다. Choi In-hoon stayed in the United States for about three years to participate in the International Writing Program of the University of Iowa in 1973. He has uncovered what happened during this period in Hwadu. The main character of Hwadu misses the time of returning to Korea and sits down in the US with the complex situation of his personal situation as a writer and a member of an immigrant family. Hwadu has scattered clues that tell the main character what the program meant, why he could not return right after the program was over, and what psychological grounds he was able to return to after returning home. This article tries to understand the events that occurred during the stay in America and the reasons that were laid out in the United States as a meaningful whole. Existing discussions on Hwadu have brought attention to the novel novel style of this work, the complex reasons for borrowing this form, and the evaluation and meaning given by Choi In-hoon. However, they did not pay much attention to how these reasons relate to events and what continuity they have in time. This would have affected the notion that Hwadu is not evolving narratively in temporal order, and that the connection between the present and the past is not clear and that it is not easy to capture any changing flow over temporal continuity. This paper attempts to rearrange the events and the speaker's thoughts considering the temporal continuity in chronological order. Through this, I tried to confirm the process of the speaker's solving the problem given to him after the stay in the United States and the change of the mind which is revealed in it. Although Hwadu has often been understood as an auto biographical or similar work in previous discussions, some of the stories that seem to be based on actual gender are different from actual facts. Among them, Choi In-hoon himself deliberately described things differently from facts, and some seem like unconscious mistakes. This paper considers that they can reveal more clearly the artist's aesthetic intentions and intentions, and tried to understand them by referring to them.

Platelet activation and aggregation play important roles in ischemic event occurrences in high-risk patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). Dual antiplatelet therapy with aspirin and a P2Y12 receptor inhibitor is a key strategy to prevent major adverse cardiovascular events in CAD patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) or those with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Interindividual variability in response to aspirin and clopidogrel administration along with the influence of different polymorphisms on platelet reactivity has been demonstrated in healthy subjects or CAD patients. Reduced pharmacodynamic effect and reduced clinical efficacy of clopidogrel have been well documented in PCI or ACS patients carrying a loss-of-function allele of the CYP2C19 gene. In addition, accumulating data from numerous clinical studies underscore the importance of “high on-treatment platelet reactivity (HPR)” as a prognostic risk factor. However, the influence of HPR and/or genotype on clinical outcomes must be assessed in the context of the overall disease risk level (ACS vs. non-ACS, diabetes vs. non-diabetes, and old age), post-PCI time (early vs. late) and ethnicity. 풍속소설의 가능성과 한계 - 「하늘의 다리」론

이 논문은 「하늘의 다리」를 작가 자신이 이론적 모색과 비평 작업을 통해 지속적으로 문제 삼아 온 풍속소설에 대한 작가적 실천이라는 관점에서 읽고자 하였다. 최인훈은 동시대의 풍속을 효과적으로 포착해 낼 수 있는 양식을 창조하는 것을 작가의 주요 과제로 보았고, 풍속소설을 우리 소설이 도달해야 할 주요한 목표 가운데 하나로 보았다. 하지만 그 자신이 쓴 본격적인 의미의 풍속소설은 찾아보기가 쉽지 않은데, 이는 최인훈이 현실적 제약으로 인해 제대로된 풍속소설을 쓰는 것이 어렵다고 판단했고 이에 따라 전통적인 방식과는 다른 소설적 양식을 통해 이 문제에 도전하려 했기 때문이다. 「하늘의 다리」가 이례적인 이유는 이런 최인훈이 풍속소설 양식에 직접 도전하고 있기 때문이다. 이 논문은 「하늘의 다리」의 양식적 특징에 대한 이해와 더불어 풍속 재현이라는 문제가 작중인물인 준구와 한명기를 통해 어떻게 실천되고 한계에 부딪치게 되는지, 이러한 한계 이면에 자리하고 있는 작가 최인훈의 문제의식이 무엇인지 살펴보았다. 「하늘의 다리」의 미학적 성취 수준은 높지 않다. 풍속소설에 관한 최인훈 자신의 문학적 입장을 생각할 때 「하늘의 다리」는 시작 시점부터 실패가 예견되어 있었던 작품이다. 어떤 의미에서 「하늘의 다리」는 그 자신의 실패를 통해 풍속소설의 불가능성을 입증하도록 기획된 작품이라고 할 수 있다. 하늘의 다리라는 환각이 알려주고 있듯이, 금기가 존재하고 이 금기가 풍속을 탐구할 수 있는 충분한 만큼의 자유를 허락하지 않을 때 제대로 된 풍속소설은 쓰일수가 없다. 이런 의미에서 「하늘의 다리」는 풍속소설이 실패할 수밖에 없는 원인에 대한 보고서이고, 음화의 방식으로 표현된 풍속소설이라고 할 수 있을 것이다. Choi In-hoon has been exploring deeply about manners and customs through his theoretical search and literary criticism, and The Leg on the Sky is the result of its practice. Choi viewed the creation of a style capturing contemporary customs effectively as the author’s main task, but he himself did not enjoy writing customs novels. The Leg on the Sky was very exceptional, because it was written in the style of customs novels. To be honest, this work did not show any outstanding achievements aesthetically. When considering Choi’s own literary stance on customs novels, The Leg on the Sky was predicted to fail from the beginning. In a sense, it can be said that The Leg on the Sky was designed to prove the impossibility of customs novels through his own failure. As the hallucination of the leg on the sky indicates, a proper customs novel cannot be written when a taboo exists and it does not allow enough freedom to explore the customs. In this sense, The Leg on the Sky is a report on the cause of the failure of customs novel, and it can be said that it is a customs novel expressed in a negative way.

This paper, we implemented a high-speed image processing system based on the open architecture which can compress the still image at the rate of 30 frames a second, and it can also store, transmit and decompress the data at the same rate. This system can be used for not only image compression and decompression system but also general-purpose image processing system with the extensibility and the flexibility in high speed processing. In the view of hardware, we used the excellent performance fixed point DSP TMS320C6201 and also designed an efficiency architecture which shares continuous input data into the related devices on the system. For the purpose of the various performances and the extensibilities, we used several FPGAS on this system; which are to get the variable environments and specifications - inspection system, image (do)compression system, identification system, object tracking system. In a software viewpoint, we adopt software pipelining and intrinsic techniques based on efficiency data allocation in 8 units of VLIW architecture. Finally, we verify the H/w and S/W performances by the implementation of JPEG system.

최인훈 <서유기>의 담론적 특성 연구

The purpose of this study is to reveal the characteristics of Seoyugi'(서유기)’s discourse and discuss its meaning. Seoyugi' is about an imaginary voyage that takes place within Dokgo Jun(독고준)’s conscious. Most of the people Dokgo Jun meets in Seoyugi' are personifications of beings printed in letter, or voiced by sound. Within Dokgo Jun’s conscious, they voice their thoughts regardless to Dokgo Jun’s will or intention and these voices do not change into that of Dokgo Jun. They remain the other's discourse.<br/> The discourse of Seoyugi' retains ambiguous nuances, the reason being that Dokgo Jun does not actively take on the role of pulling in and arranging the other's discourse into a unified whole. Dokgo Jun’s thoughts are similar to that of a dream, without a subject and without any unified being that is the very basis of thought and its unity. Dokgo Jun cannot be said to be the subject of thought, in the modern sense, because he fails to construct his thoughts into a unified whole. The separate discourses float around anonymously. In turn, Dokgo Jun also exists as separate and distinct beings linked to each separate and distinct discourse. The reason behind Dokgo Jun’s indifference to the various discourses is the fear that his ideological inclination may be revealed. The fear stems first, from the existence of a surveillant gaze, and ultimately, is rooted in his childhood experience of people's trial. In other words, Dokgo Jun eliminates his subjectivity and remains anonymous, so as to nullify the surveillant gaze that keeps watch over his inner thoughts and demands confession. Seoyugi’s confusing disorderly writing style is also the result of such will.

백정 관련 연구의 맥락에서 본 〈일월〉

이 논문은 황순원의 소설 〈일월〉을 백정에 대한 관련 논의의 연구사적 맥락에서 읽고자 하였다. 이러한 독법은 황순원이 백정에 관한 다양한 논의들을 소설 속에 삽입하였을 뿐 아니라 그것이 미완의 사실을 대상으로 하고 있다는 점을 근거로 하고 있다. 황순원의 장편소설 〈일월〉은 작가가 오랜 기간 동안 폭넓게 읽고 두루 듣고 발로 뛰어 취재한, 백정에 관한 다양한 논의들을 담고 있다. 이들 가운데는 지금은 널리 알려져 있지만 당시로서는 새로웠던 것도 있고, 사실과는 다른 것으로 판명되어 폐기된 것도 있고, 아예 논의의 대상이 되지 않거나 이설로만 남아 있는 것도 있다. 적어도 이들만 놓고 보면 황순원이 〈일월〉을 문학작품이 아니라 문학 형식을 띤 일종의 논문으로 쓴 것이 아닌가 여겨지기도 한다. 이 논문이 작품으로서 〈일월〉이 지닌 미학적 의미를 고찰하기보다는 〈일월〉에 담긴 백정 관련 논의를 해당 학계의 연구사의 맥락에서 검토하고 그 의미를 드러내고자 한 것은 바로 이런 이유 때문이다. 이 논문에서 집중적으로 다룬 것은 백정 설화의 수집과 해석, 형평 운동의 전개, 형평사의 후신을 자처한 축산기업조합의 자기 인식, 백정의 유래, 다림방과 성균관의 관계이며, 이를 위해 작품 속에 언급된 자료들과 함께 〈일월〉 집필을 전후한 시점의 연구 성과와 최근의 논의들을 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 기존의 논의에서 얻어내지 못한 〈일월〉의 새로운 의미와 의의를 발견할 수 있을 것이다. This study is a reading of Hwang Sunwon's novel, Ilwol(일월) from the context of various studies on baekjeong(백정), a member of the lowest class which once engaged chiefly in execution. Ilwol contains various arguments on baekjeong Hwang developed. For writing Ilwol Hwang Sunwon had to read documents on baekjeong, consult with scholars, collect materials. In this sense, Ilwol is not only a novel but also an article on baekjeong. This is why I look Ilwol from the context of studies on baekjeong being indifferent to aesthetic value of it. What I deal with are these: baekjoeng-tales, a process of Hyeongpyeong movement, Chuksan Gieop Johap(Korea Federation of Meat Purveyors) and its self-recognition, the origin of baekjeong, the relation of Darimbang(butcher) and Seonggyungwan and so on. This is a newly different way to look and give a significance to Ilwol.

해방 후 김기림의 한글 전용 논의에 대하여(Ⅰ) -논의의 맥락과 관련한 몇 가지 문제를 중심으로

김기림은 1948년 10월 말부터 약 1년 동안 한글 전용 문제를 다룬 네 편의 글을 연이어 발표하였다. 대한민국 정부가 수립된 후 두 달여가 지난 시점이었고, 그가 시분과위원장을 맡고 있었던 조선문학가동맹은 임화, 김남천, 이원조, 이태준 등 주요 인사들의 월북으로 사실상 조직이 와해된 상황이었다. 한글 전용 문제는 이 시기 김기림에게 어떤 의미가 있었을까? 김기림은 왜 이 문제에 답을 얻기 위해 시간을 들이고 노력을 아끼지 않은 것일까? 이 논문은 한글 전용을 위한 김기림의 논리를 이해하고 그 의미를 밝히는 작업 이전에, 한글 전용 논의가 김기림에게 의미했던 바가 무엇이었고 이러한 글쓰기 행위가 놓인 현실적이고 정치적인 맥락이 무엇이었는지 살피는 것이 우선 필요하다는 판단 하에 이를 집중적으로 검토해 보았다. 구체적으로는, 1945년 겨울 이후 국어심의회 참석을 둘러싼 전후 상황과 국어심의회에 관한 의문들을 제기하고, 제1회 전조선문학자대회에서 계몽운동에 관한 의견이 제시된 맥락과 이 의견서의 의미와 의의를 살핀 다음, 1948년 10월 말부터 1년여 가까이 지속된 한글 전용 논의가 대한민국 정부 수립 이후라는 정치적 맥락 속에서 어떻게 이해될 수 있는지, 그 속에 숨은 이면의 논리가 무엇인지 검토해 보았다. 김기림이 한글 전용 및 한글 위주 문체의 수립이라는 문제에 지속적으로 관심을 가졌던 것은, 이것이 민주주의 국가 건설을 위한 기초 공작이자 이를 공고하게 만들기 위한 후속 작업이 되리라는 인식 때문이었다. 김기림에게 한글 위주 문체의 수립은 학술적인 차원에서의 과제라기보다는 민주주의 국가 건설에 기여하기 위한 정치적인 차원에서의 과제였다고 할 수 있다. 조선문학가동맹에 소속되어 있었을 때도, 대한민국 정부가 수립되어 나라 만들기라는 과제가 완료가 된 이후에도 줄곧 김기림이 이 문제와 더불어 씨름했다는 사실은, 이 시기 김기림의 정치적 지향점이 특정한 이념의 민주주의 국가가 아니라 광의의 민주주의, 가장 기본적인 수준에서 요청되는 민주주의적 체제를 갖춘 국가였음을 알려주는 증거일 것이다. Kim Girim published four consecutive papers on Exclusive use of Hangeul from October 1948, when it had been two months since the Republic of Korea founded and Joseon Munhakga Dongmaeng fell to pieces with Im Hwa, Kim Namcheon, Lee Wonjo and Lee Taejun gone to North Korea. What did it mean to Kim to write on Exclusive use of Hangeul? Why did he spend his time on doing this? This paper dealt with these issues. Specifically this paper investigated what occurred in the Committee of Korean Language(or Korean Textbook) in the winter of 1945, the context in which Kim published a paper on Enlightenment Movement including establishment of plain style of Korean at the 1st Conference of Joseon(Korea) Writers, and the political context in which Kim published four papers on Exclusive use of Hangeul after October 1948. Kim thought the Exclusive use of Hangeul and the establishment of plain style of Korean as the keys to establishing a democratic country and solidifying it. They were not just academic tasks but also political tasks to Kim.

근대 한국 민족주의의 정치사상 (2)

이 논문은 근대 한국에서 전개된 민족주의운동의 정치사상을 정리하는 대과제의 일부로서, 특히 삼일운동후 1920년대-40년대에 전개된 합작통일운동의 그것에 대해 살핀 것이다. 한국민족주의는 삼일운동후 민주공화주의에 토대한 임시정부를 결성함으로써 민주적 민족주의로의 사상적 진전을 이룩하였지만, 민족운동진영은 사회주의의 유입과 함께 바로 좌우익으로 분열되게 된다. 그리고 이후 1920년대 중반이후부터 40년대 후반까지 민족운동의 우선과제는 좌우익 분열을 수습하여 통일된 투쟁전선과 자주독립역량을 형성하는 일로 집약되게 된다. 합작통일이야말로 적을 물리치고 자주독립국가를 건설하는 데 필수조건이었기 때문이다. 이같은 과제에 부응하여 전개된 것이 바로 1920년대 중반 이래 유일당운동과 민족연합전선운동 또는 좌우합작운동이라는 이름하에 전개된 일련의 합작통일운동이었다. 이 합작통일운동은 물론 역사의 추이가 증명하듯이 실패로 돌아갔고 분단과 전쟁이라는 한국현대사의 아픈 비극으로 이어졌다. 그러나 이 운동이 정치사와 사상사에서 가지는 의의는 매우 크다. 이 합작통일운동은 민족주의라는 기준에서 보면 한국사 속에서 가장 전형적이면서 치열한 사례로 평가할 수 있을 것이다. 한말이후 본격화한 한국 민족주의는 이 합작통일운동에 이르러 그 민족의식과 실천에서 가장 성숙한 모습을 보여주고 있다. 합작통일운동은 통일을 위한 지도이론을 모색하는 과정에서 사회주의와 자유주의라는 근대 세계의 양대 이데올로기와 씨름해야 하였으며, 좌우 사상의 장단점을 지양종합하면서 동시에 민족의 현실과 전통에 부합한 이론을 정립하고자 하였다. 민족의 안전과 통일에 그치지 않고 인류평화 문제도 고민하였다. 그리고 그 과정에서 이상적인 국가와 정치에 대한 많은 독창적 이론과 명제들을 창출하였다. 삼균주의나 신민족주의, 조선적 민주주의, 신형민주주주의, 삼본주의, 대공주의 등이 그것으로, 이 합작통일운동 시기는 한국 정치사상사 전반을 두고 보더라도 그 사상적 성과와 축적이 부각되는 시기였다 할 수 있다. This paper discusses on the political thoughts of Korean nationalism, especially on that of the unification movements in 1920s-1940s. The nationalism movement after the Samil Movement developed into the stage of democratic nationalism by accepting the democratic government ideas in the Constitution of the Sanghai Provisional Government after the Samil Movement. But after the influx of socialism, nationalism movement camp devided into the two camps of left and right and the two camps were hostile to each other. And the cooperation and unification of the two camps was embossed as the first task of Korean nationalism. Cooporation and unification was the best necessary condition in the liberation movement and in the state establishing process. And to acting up that task, the coordinating-unification movements were spread out in the 1920s and 1940s by many leaders. Josoang's Samkyunism, Anjaehong's Sinminjokjuui, Sinsuk's Sambonjuui, and Anchangho's Daegongjuui were the representative theories which intended to unify the divided liberation forces and to establish the independent unified nation state. These theoriests selected the proper ideas in socialism, liberalism and democracy at the viewpoint of Korean situation and tasks at that time. And these political thoughts of unifying movements may be called as socialistic nationalism. This paper analysed these political theories especially in the aspect of their plans and thoughts how to unify and coorporate.
