An Improved Coverless Text Steganography Algorithm Based on Pretreatment and POS

( Yuling Liu ),( Jiao Wu ),( Xianyi Chen ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2021 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.15 No.4

Steganography is a current hot research topic in the area of information security and privacy protection. However, most previous steganography methods are not effective against steganalysis and attacks because they are usually carried out by modifying covers. In this paper, we propose an improved coverless text steganography algorithm based on pretreatment and Part of Speech (POS), in which, Chinese character components are used as the locating marks, then the POS is used to hide the number of keywords, the retrieval of stego-texts is optimized by pretreatment finally. The experiment is verified that our algorithm performs well in terms of embedding capacity, the embedding success rate, and extracting accuracy, with appropriate lengths of locating marks and the large scale of the text database.

Ground type-I collagen—a focused study on its fibrillogenesis behavior and bioactivity in vitro

        Yuling Xu,Lei Dai,Ke Li,Jialin Liu,Haibo Wang,Lang He,Chengzhi Xu,Benmei Wei,Juntao Zhang 한국고분자학회 2023 Macromolecular Research Vol.31 No.1

Take bovine tendon type-I collagen as the raw material, we pretreated it by freezing and then grinding the macromolecule at a low temperature (4–10 °C). Effects of the grinding process on the molecular structure, water solubility, fibrillogenesis behavior in vitro and biological activity of collagen were systematically prospected. Sodium dodecyl sulfate–polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS–PAGE) results revealed that the collagen had typical structural characteristics of type-I collagen; moreover, grinding treatment gave rise to partially degraded collagen molecules which took on continuous bands with lower molecular weights different from α1 and α2. More strikingly, the degradation degree positively corresponded to the grinding duration. Circular dichroism (CD) analysis manifested that with extended grinding, intensities of both the positive and negative peaks for collagen samples shrunk. Interestingly, grinding also contributed to improved water solubility of collagen. The water solubility of the sample ground for 20 min (COL20) was 1.91 mg/mL, which is about 6 times higher than that of the natural collagen sample (0.28 mg/mL). Amid the study concerning the fibrillogenesis behavior, turbidity and rheological data collaboratively demonstrated that with prolonged grinding time, the assembly rate and degree of the sample plunged. Assembled gel from the ground collagen with finer fibrils was also observed in scanning electron microscope (SEM), which further embraced the conclusion aforementioned in fibrillogenesis kinetics. Cell experiments corroborated that the grinding process can be harnessed to manipulate the cell proliferation promoting ability of collagen. Simultaneously, further dissection of COL20 with the best biological activity clarified that the water-soluble part and water-insoluble part of COL20 had distinct aptitudes as to promoting cell proliferation as well as inhibiting the growth of liver cancer cells.

      • Scutellaria Extract Decreases the Proportion of Side Population Cells in a Myeloma Cell Line by Down-regulating the Expression of ABCG2 Protein

        Lin, Mei-Gui,Liu, Li-Ping,Li, Chen-Yin,Zhang, Meng,Chen, Yuling,Qin, Jian,Gu, Yue-Yu,Li, Zhi,Wu, Xin-Lin,Mo, Sui-Lin Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.12

Background and Aims: Scutellaria is one of the most popular traditional Chinese herbal remedies against various human diseases, including cancer. In this study, we examined the active effects of Scutellaria extract and its main flavonoid constituents on the proportion of side population cells within human multiple myeloma cell line RPMI8226 in vitro and explored the potential molecular mechanisms involved. Materials and Methods: The contents of flavonoids in ethanolic extract of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi were determined using high performance liquid chromatography. The antiproliferative effect of the ethanolic extract on RPMI-8226 was determined by CCK assay. Apoptosis was measured by annexin combining with propidium iodide in a flow cytometer. Cell cycle analysis was performed by propidium iodide staining in combination with flow cytometry analysis. Hoechst 33342 exclusion assay was used for the identification of side population within RPMI8226 cells. The expression of ABCG2 protein was assessed by Western blotting assay. Results: The content of major flavonoids constitutents of Scutellaria extract was baicalin (10.2%), wogonoside (2.50%), baicalein (2.29%), and wogonin (0.99%), respectively. The crude Scutellaria extract did not show significant anti-proliferative effect, apoptosis induction and cell cycle arrest in RPMI-8226 within the concentrations of $1-75{\mu}g/mL$. However, the ethanolic extract, baicalein, wogonin and baicalin reduced the side population cells in RPMI-8226, and data showed that baicalein and wogonin had stronger inhibitory effects. Correspondingly, they also exhibited significant effects on decreasing the expression level of ABCG2 protein in RPMI-8226 in vitro. Conclusions: Our results for the first time demonstrated a novel mechanism of action for Scutellaria extract and its main active flavonoids, namely targeting SP cells by modulating the expression of ABCG2 protein. This study provides an insight for new therapeutic strategies targeting cancer stem cells of multiple myeloma.

Application of O-RADS US combined with MV-Flow to diagnose ovarian-adnexal tumors

        Linlin Ruan,Hui Liu,Hong Xiang,Yongkang Ni,Yuling Feng,Huili Zhou,Mengtong Qi 대한초음파의학회 2024 ULTRASONOGRAPHY Vol.43 No.1

Purpose: This study aimed to explore the application of Ovarian-Adnexal Reporting and Data System Ultrasound (O-RADS US) combined with MV-Flow (Samsung Medison Co., Ltd.) to diagnose ovarian-adnexal masses. Methods: A total of 112 ovarian-adnexal masses (81 benign and 31 malignant) from 105 consecutive patients were analyzed. The O-RADS US and vascular index from MV-Flow (VIMV) were measured and compared with the reference standard. O-RADS US and MV-Flow were tested for consistency. Results: Receiver operating characteristic curves were drawn for O-RADS US, MV-Flow, and their combination. The combined methods had the largest area under the curve (0.955), followed by O-RADS US (0.929) and MV-Flow (0.923). A mass was considered malignant when the O-RADS US classification was 5 and VIMV was ≥7.15. With this definition, MV-Flow had the highest sensitivity (87.10%), with consistent findings for the combined diagnostic methods and O-RADS US (83.87%). The specificity of the combined diagnostic methods (93.83%) was higher than that of MV-Flow (91.36%). O-RADS US had the lowest specificity (90.12%). The combined diagnostic methods had the highest coincidence rate (91.07%), and MV-Flow (90.18%) had a significantly higher coincidence rate than O-RADS US (88.39%). Both O-RADS US and MV-Flow showed good consistency among different physicians (former kappa, 0.974; latter intraclass correlation coefficient [ICC], 0.986). MV-Flow had a high consistency for the same physician (ICC, 1).Conclusion: O-RADS US and MV-Flow exhibited good diagnostic efficacy, and their combined diagnostic efficacy was higher than that of each individually. O-RADS US and MV-Flow can improve the diagnosis of benign and malignant ovarian-adnexal masses. Enhanced Strength-Ductility Synergy in Mg-0.5 wt%Ce Alloy by hot Extrusion

        Hui Yu,Yu Liu,Ya Liu,Dongliang Wang,Yuling Xu,Binan Jiang,Weili Cheng,Lixin Huang,Weineng Tang,Wei Yu 대한금속·재료학회 2023 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.29 No.7

The microstructure and mechanical properties of micro-alloyed Mg-0.5 wt%Ce alloys are investigated systemically in this study. It shows that Mg-Ce binary system is very sensitive to extrusion temperature. On the one hand, the high tensile yield strength (TYS) of 343 MPa was obtained by extrusion at 250 °C mainly due to the combined effects of profuse nano-precipitation phase, grain refinement, texture strengthening and high-density dislocation; On the other hand, the excellent elongation of 30% was acquired by extrusion at 300 °C resulting from the elimination of dislocations as well as the modification of texture.
