Purpose: This research investigates the role of employee trust and job satisfaction in the relationship between organizational culture and employee loyalty. Design/methodology/approach: The study was conducted among 355 healthcare professionals working in a private healthcare system in southern cities of Vietnam, including doctors, nurses, and other medical staff. The research method employed was partial least squared structure equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software for data analysis. Findings: The findings indicate that organizational culture has a direct positive impact on employee loyalty and also affects employee trust and job satisfaction positively. Furthermore, employee trust and job satisfaction act as intermediaries and positively influence employee loyalty toward the organization. Research limitations/implications: The research acknowledges the limitation of the limited sample size and encourages further exploration of these relationships in other contexts. In addition, this study provides valuable insights for the management board of private healthcare organizations in southern cities of Vietnam on how to improve employee loyalty by cultivating a positive organizational culture, promoting employee trust, and enhancing job satisfaction. Originality/value: Overall, this research contributes significantly to the existing literature by examining the interplay between employee trust, organizational culture, job satisfaction, and employee loyalty.

Scientific evidence on all aspects of smoking amongst youth is very important for designing appropriate interventions to reduce smoking among this vulnerable population. This paper describes current access to anti-smoking information among school children aged 13 to 15 years in Vietnam in 2014 and examines its potential impact on preventing smoking initiation. The data used in this paper were obtained from the 2014 Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS) in Vietnam. Students were asked questions about their level of awareness of anti-smoking information from various sources in the past 30 days and about lessons in school regarding the dangers of tobacco use during the last 12 months. Those who have never smoked were asked "whether or not they thought about avoiding cigarettes because of health warnings on cigarette packages" and answers were analyzed in combination with data on access to anti-smoking information from other sources. The prevalence of exposure to antismoking campaigns was high among school children in Viet Nam: 55.3% of current smokers reported thoughts of smoking cessation because of health warnings on cigarette packages; 60.5% of never smokers avoided initiating smoking because of the same health warnings. The potential impact of graphic health warnings to prevent school-aged children from smoking initiation would be stronger if there was concurrent access to anti-smoking programs on the dangers of tobacco use in schools. However, school education for tobacco prevention and control has not been as strong as expected. A more comprehensive school curriculum on tobacco prevention and control is recommended to reinforce antismoking messages among school children.
Real-time Speed Limit Traffic Sign Detection System for Robust Automotive Environments
Hoang, Anh-Tuan,Koide, Tetsushi,Yamamoto, Masaharu The Institute of Electronics and Information Engin 2015 IEIE Transactions on Smart Processing & Computing Vol.4 No.4
This paper describes a hardware-oriented algorithm and its conceptual implementation in a real-time speed limit traffic sign detection system on an automotive-oriented field-programmable gate array (FPGA). It solves the training and color dependence problems found in other research, which saw reduced recognition accuracy under unlearned conditions when color has changed. The algorithm is applicable to various platforms, such as color or grayscale cameras, high-resolution (4K) or low-resolution (VGA) cameras, and high-end or low-end FPGAs. It is also robust under various conditions, such as daytime, night time, and on rainy nights, and is adaptable to various countries' speed limit traffic sign systems. The speed limit traffic sign candidates on each grayscale video frame are detected through two simple computational stages using global luminosity and local pixel direction. Pipeline implementation using results-sharing on overlap, application of a RAM-based shift register, and optimization of scan window sizes results in a small but high-performance implementation. The proposed system matches the processing speed requirement for a 60 fps system. The speed limit traffic sign recognition system achieves better than 98% accuracy in detection and recognition, even under difficult conditions such as rainy nights, and is implementable on the low-end, low-cost Xilinx Zynq automotive Z7020 FPGA.
A Distributed Harmonic Power Sharing Strategy for Islanded Microgrids
Tuan V. Hoang,Hong-Hee Lee 전력전자학회 2019 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2019 No.5
This study presents a distributed-based control method to provide accurate harmonic power sharing for islanded microgrids. The proposed method requires simple communication network through which the DG unit uses local and its neighbors’ information to execute the control algorithm. In the proposed method, a distributed adaptive virtual impedance controller is developed to realize accurate harmonic power sharing for the islanded microgrids regardless of load changes. The proposed method is quite easily implemented in practice because the information such as the line impedances, load powers, and the detailed microgrid configuration is needless. Also, the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method are validated via digital simulation.

Abstract

A colorimetric strip sensor array based on the naked-eye detection has been reported as a simple instrument-free device able to visually display a concentration level of gaseous analytes with basicity. The array has a vertically aligned configuration of five sensing elements and their detection sensitivities to basic analytes are controlled to decrease downwardly. The colorimetric sensors were fabricated by drop-casting a dye solution containing a pH indicator, an acid compound, and hydrophilic polyethylene glycol on a polyacrylonitrile nanofiber mat. The detection sensitivity was regulated by using different amounts of the acid compound in addition to variation in pH Indicator. When sensors containing a pH indicator of bromophenol blue (BPB), bromocresol green (BCG), or chlorophenol red (CPR) were exposed to ammonia gas, coloration happens considerably in the regions of 0–1, 0–5 and 10–100ppm for BPB, BCG and CPR sensors, respectively. Furthermore, the detection sensitivity could be controlled to decrease by increasing an amount of citric acid, which reveals that the color-changing acid-base reactions between pH indicator and basic analytes are reduced by competitive interactions between the analytes and acid additive. As illustrations, two strip sensor arrays based on BPB and BCG dyes were fabricated and confirmed the successful naked-eye discrimination of a NH3 concentration level in the ranges of 1–50 and 5–100ppm, respectively. The concentration level can be determined by a number of coloration elements in the strip device while its resolution relies on a total number of sensing elements.

Highlights

A strip sensor array was fabricated using five dye-impregnated colorimetric sensors with different detection sensitivity.

The detection sensitivity was controlled by a kind of dye and an amount of additive citric acid.

A concentration level of basic analytes was displayed by a number of coloration elements in the strip device.

Graphical abstract

[DISPLAY OMISSION]

Macro-Economic Factors Affecting the Vietnam Stock Price Index: An Application of the ARDL Model
Hoang Tuan DAO,Le Hang VU,Thanh Lam PHAM,Kim Trang NGUYEN 한국유통과학회 2022 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.9 No.5
Using the ARDL approach, this study examined the impact of macro factors on Vietnam’s stock market in the short and long run from 2010 to 2021. The State Bank of Vietnam and the International Monetary Fund provided time series data for this study. Research results show that in the long run, money supply and exchange rate respectively affect the stock market. The money supply had a positive effect on the VN-Index, while the exchange rate showed the opposite effect. However, the study did not find a relationship between world oil price and interest rates on VN-Index in the long run. On the other hand, in the short term, there are relationships between variables; specifically, interest rates and exchange rates have a negative impact on the VN-Index, while the world oil price and the fluctuation of money supply M2 of the previous one and two months showed an impact in the same direction on this index. The differences in the regression results on the impact of exchange rate and oil price on the VN-Index compared to previous studies come from the characteristics of Vietnam’s stock market, with the large capitalization of companies in the oil and gas sector, and the structure of Vietnam’s economy with export heavily depends on FDI sector.
