        辛太明,申澈洙,李洪西 충주대 2003 産業科學論文集 Vol.11 No.-

This paper emphasizer that seismic design of lifeline piping is necessary to avoid a secondary damage from earthquake like building fire. A large portion fo damage from the large historical earthquakes has been suffered surprisingly by post-earthquake fire. And it is well known that the fire had been caused by the failure of energy supply piping such as electricity pipes of gas pipes, of by the absence of rabid countermeasure system from failure of fire fighting equipment and water supply pipes. In this paper, it is discussed about a general seismic design method of building internal structure like lifeline piping and about a measure for reducing the seismic respones. As conclusions, it is proposed that lifeline piping should be simultaneously considered in the seismic design of building of importance for higher reliability.

        문홍득,신영철 진주산업대학교 1997 산업과학기술연구소보 Vol.- No.4

The deflection and deterioration of road surfaces are largely related to the deformation of underlying soils. The American Association of State Highways and Transportation Officials(AASHTO) has adopted use of resilient modulus in the pavement design to represent the deformational characteristics of pavement materials due to repeated loading. Because of the recent interest in the use of resilient modulus for pavement design, it is needed to evaluate on the effects of moisture, soil type, and stress state on resilient modulus. In this paper, resilient characteristics are investigated for subgrade soils gained from road construction sites in Korea. The experimental technique basically follows the method suggested in this study.

TRIP Database: a manually curated database of protein–protein interactions for mammalian TRP channels

        Shin, Young-Cheul,Shin, Soo-Yong,So, Insuk,Kwon, Dongseop,Jeon, Ju-Hong Oxford University Press 2011 Nucleic acids research Vol.39 No.1

<P>Transient receptor potential (TRP) channels are a superfamily of Ca2+<B>-</B>permeable cation channels that translate cellular stimuli into electrochemical signals. Aberrant activity of TRP channels has been implicated in a variety of human diseases, such as neurological disorders, cardiovascular disease and cancer. To facilitate the understanding of the molecular network by which TRP channels are associated with biological and disease processes, we have developed the TRIP (TRansient receptor potential channel-Interacting Protein) Database (http://www.trpchannel.org), a manually curated database that aims to offer comprehensive information on protein–protein interactions (PPIs) of mammalian TRP channels. The TRIP Database was created by systematically curating 277 peer-reviewed literature; the current version documents 490 PPI pairs, 28 TRP channels and 297 cellular proteins. The TRIP Database provides a detailed summary of PPI data that fit into four categories: screening, validation, characterization and functional consequence. Users can find in-depth information specified in the literature on relevant analytical methods and experimental resources, such as gene constructs and cell/tissue types. The TRIP Database has user-friendly web interfaces with helpful features, including a search engine, an interaction map and a function for cross-referencing useful external databases. Our TRIP Database will provide a valuable tool to assist in understanding the molecular regulatory network of TRP channels.</P>

      • S-485 : Chemotherapy in population including elderly patients with recurrent or advanced soft tissue sarcoma

( Hong Jun Kim ),( In Keun Choi ),( Se Ryeon Lee ),( Seung Tae Kim ),( Hwa Jung Sung ),( Kyong Hwa Park,),( Sang Cheul Oh ),( Jae Hong Seo ),( Sang Won Shin ),( Yeul Hong Kim ),( Jun Suk Kim ) 대한내과학회 2013 대한내과학회 추계학술대회 Vol.2013 No.1

Introduction: Recent study reported that 38 percent of new patients with soft tissue sarcoma were aged more than 65 years. However, few studies reported clinical outcomes after chemotherapy in elderly patients with recurrent or advanced soft tissue sarcoma. Elderly patients hesitate to receive chemotherapy. But, an equal response to chemotherapy is expected in elderly patients as in young patients. Hence, we aimed to study the clinical results of chemotherapy in elderly patients with recurrent or advanced soft tissue sarcoma. Patients and Methods: 97 patients were admitted for chemotherapy at the Korea University Anam, Guro, and Ansan Hospital s between 2003.3 and 2012.4. Patients were treated with an appropriate chemotherapy regimen. Results: The median age of the patients in the entire group was 52 years. Patients received a median of 4 cycles of chemotherapy. The median overall survival for the entire group was 61 months (95% CI: 29.3-92.7 months). 33 patients were identified as elderly patients aged 60 years or older. In the elderly group, the most common type of soft tissue sarcoma was leiomyosarcoma (21.2%). The median number of chemotherapy cycles was three and median survival was 15 months in the elderly group. In the elderly group, one patient had a complete response. There were four partial responses. 14 patients had progressive disease. In the subgroup analysis, 51 of 64 patients (79.75%) in the non-elderly group were responders, while 19 of 33 patients (57.6%) in elderly group responders were responders (Chi-square test p=0.03). However, there was no statistically significant difference in survival between the elderly and non-elderly groups (p=0.11, log-rank test). Disease burden and response to chemotherapy were predictive of survival in elderly patients with recurrent or advanced soft tissue sarcoma. Conclusions: Taking only an age-based decision for systemic chemotherapy seems not to be reasonable in elderly patients with recurrent or advanced soft tissue sarcoma. A judicious decision needs to be taken for selecting the candidate for chemotherapy in elderly patients with recurrent or advanced soft tissue sarcoma after considering the benefit and toxicity of chemotherapy.

Pharmacokinetics of Guanosine in Rats following Intravenous or Intramuscular Administration of a 1:1 Mixture of Guanosine and Acriflavine, a Potential Antitumor Agent

        Shin, Dae-Hwan,Choi, Kyu-Seok,Cho, Byung-Suk,Song, Suk-Gil,Moon, Dong-Cheul,Hong, Jin-Tae,Lee, Chong-Kil,Chung, Youn-Bok 대한약학회 2008 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.31 No.10

A 1:1 mixture of acriflavine (ACF; CAS 8063-24-9) and guanosine is under evaluation in preclinical studies as a possible antitumor agent. Guanosine is known to potentiate the anti-cancer activity of ACF. We therefore investigated the pharmacokinetics of guanosine following administration of the ACF/guanosine mixture in rats. Rats were given guanosine (1 or 5 mg/kg) or ACF/guanosine (2 or 10 mg/kg) by i.v. bolus; or guanosine (3 or 15 mg/kg) or ACF/guanosine (6 or 30 mg/kg) by i.m. injection. We found that guanosine was rapidly cleared from the blood and transferred to tissues after i.m. administration of ACF/guanosine. The mean plasma half-lives ($t_{1/2}$) at the $\alpha$ and $\beta$ phases were 0.091 and 6.86 h, or 0.092 and 7.51 h at a dose of 1 or 5 mg/kg guanosine, respectively. ACF had no effect on the plasma disappearance of guanosine following either i.v. bolus or i.m. administration of the combination mixture. Moreover, the ACF combination with guanosine did not significantly alter the values of MRT, $V_{dss}$. and $CL_t$ of guanosine. Guanosine exhibited linear pharmacokinetics over the dose range from 1 to 5 mg/kg for i.v. doses and 3 to 15 mg/kg for i.m. doses. The bioavailability of guanosine after i.m. administration was 84% for 3 mg/kg dose and 88% for 15 mg/kg dose. ACF had no effects on biliary and urinary excretion of guanosine after i.m. administration. The cumulative amount of guanosine in urine after i.m. administration was about 5-fold larger than that in bile, indicating that guanosine is mostly excreted into the urine. Guanosine was widely distributed in all tissues examined in this study, but was most highly concentrated in the kidney after i.m. administration, followed by slow excretion to bile or urine. ACF had no effect on the tissue distribution of guanosine following i.m. administration. These characterizations of the pharmacokinetics of guanosine after administration of the ACF/guanosine combination will be useful in providing preclinical and clinical bases for the potential application of this combination to the treatment of cancer.

Effect of LiBiO2 on low-temperature sintering of PZT-PZNN ceramics

        Hong Sung Cheul,Kim Shi Yeon,Yeo Dong-Hun,Shin Hyo-Soon,Park Zee Hoon,남산 한국세라믹학회 2022 한국세라믹학회지 Vol.59 No.5

In this study, the sintering characteristics of 0.69Pb(Zr 0.47 Ti 0.53 )O 3 -0.31Pb[(Zn 0.4 Ni 0.6 ) 1/3 Nb 2/3 ] (PZT-PZNN) ceramics after the addition of LiBiO 2 were studied. This addition lowered the sintering temperature from 1150 to 900 °C. The crystal structure changed from tetragonal to rhombohedral as the additive content increased by 0.7%. The polarization of the sintered specimen was conducted at an electric fi eld of 3 kV/mm. When 0.7 wt% of LiBiO 2 was added and sintered at 900 °C, the piezoelectric constant ( d 33 ) was 602 pC/N; moreover, the electromechanical coupling coefficient ( k P ), sintered density, and Curie temperature ( T c ) at 1 kHz were 66.3%, 7.99 g/cm 3 , and 252.8 °C, respectively. When 0.7 wt% of LiBiO 2 was added, the PZT-PZNN ceramic showed an increased strain curve of 0.118% at 2 kV/mm. The interdiffusion between the copper (Cu) electrode and ceramic material was not observed in the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) results; thus, the possibility of manufacturing an actuator using a Cu electrode using a novel composition was confirmed. The actuator displacement with the voltage 400 V was 1.2 μm. The thickness of the multi-layered actuator was 1 mm. Through this, the possibility of manufacturing a multi-layered actuator with a Cu electrode was confirmed through the composition of 0.69PZT-0.31PZNN (LiBiO 2 0.7 wt%).
