A SSN-Reduced 5Gb/s Parallel Transmitter
Lee, Seon-Kyoo,Kim, Young-Sang,Park, Hong-June,Sim, Jae-Yoon The Institute of Electronics and Information Engin 2007 Journal of semiconductor technology and science Vol.7 No.4
A current-balancing segmented group-inverting transmitter is presented for multi-Gb/s single-ended parallel links. With an additional increase of 4 pins, 16-bit data is efficiently encoded to 20 pins to achieve the current balancing and eliminate the simultaneous switching noise. Since the proposed coding is a simple inversion-or-not transformation of pre-defined groups of binary data, it can be implemented with simplified logic circuits. The transmitter is designed with a $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS technology, and simulated eye diagrams at 5Gb/s show dramatic improvements in signal integrity.

<P>This brief presents an 8-bit parallel transceiver for low-power memory interface with a current-regulated voltage-mode driver and a clock and data recovery performing both bit recovery and byte alignment. Sharing a current source by output drivers enables voltage swing control without any regulator circuit while holding the benefits of low-power voltage-mode driving. In the receiver, with only one phase rotator in a globally shared phase-locked loop, a narrow-range delay line in each deskewing phase recovery loop effectively performs seamless phase adjustment. The transceiver, implemented in a 90-nm CMOS, shows a data rate of 6 Gbit/s/ch with a bit error rate of 10-12 and a power consumption of 2.8 mW/Gbit/s.</P>
A 1 GHz ADPLL With a 1.25 ps Minimum-Resolution Sub-Exponent TDC in 0.18 <tex> $\mu$</tex> m CMOS
Seon-Kyoo Lee,Young-Hun Seo,Hong-June Park,Jae-Yoon Sim IEEE 2010 IEEE journal of solid-state circuits Vol.45 No.12
<P>An all-digital PLL for wireline applications is designed with a sub-exponent TDC which adaptively scales its resolution according to input time difference. By cascading 2× time amplifiers, the TDC efficiently generates the exponent-only information for fractional time difference. To improve linearity in a wide input range, a replica-based self-calibration scheme is applied to the time amplifier. The TDC, implemented in a 0.18 μm CMOS, shows the minimum resolution of 1.25 ps with a total conversion range of 2.5 ns, the maximum operating frequency of 250 MHz, and power consumption of 1.8 mW at 60 MHz. The measured rms jitter of PLL was 5.03 ps at 960 MHz.</P>
A 5 Gb/s Single-Ended Parallel Receiver With Adaptive Crosstalk-Induced Jitter Cancellation
Seon-Kyoo Lee,Byungsub Kim,Hong-June Park,Jae-Yoon Sim IEEE 2013 IEEE journal of solid-state circuits Vol.48 No.9
<P>This paper presents an adaptive far-end crosstalk cancellation scheme for a single-ended parallel receiver. The adaptation engine is embedded in a single representative channel CDR, and the receiver efficiently reduces the crosstalk noise with a minimal cost in hardware and power consumption. In addition, the proposed scheme can be applied to any given CDR and equalizing circuits. The receiver is fabricated in 0.13 μm CMOS technology and achieves a reduction of FEXT-induced jitter up to 75%. The receiver consumes 65 mW at 5 Gb/s (4.3 mW/Gb/s/pin) including a PLL for global clock distribution.</P>

The seedling obtained from uniconazol treatment showed dwarfism and tillering. In order to identify uniconazol-induced genes, cDNA hybridization probes were made from poly(A⁺) RNA isolated from uniconazol-treated seedlings and untreated inbred line seedling(IK), and the putatively regulated clones was detected by the differential screening of the cDNA libray. RNA hybridization experiment revealed that two of the clones were in fact induced by application of uniconazol. mRNAs of ca. 800 and 1,500 baseds was identified by isolated two clones (ZmKT4 and ZmKT28) and markedly increased from 48hr after uniconazol application. ZmKT4 clones showed the highest level of mRNA accumulation in tassels, ears and leaves, and the lowest level in roots. ZmKT28 clone is expressed in the stems, tassels, silks, ears and leaves but no transcripts was detected in roots. Two clone may be associated wit the cell elongation and phase of vegetative growth.

Purpose: To assess choroidal thickness (CT) variation according to refractive errors using enhanced-depth imaging optical coherence tomography. Methods: Eighty-nine eyes (in 89 children) <±6 diopter were categorized into three groups: hyperopia, emmetropia, and myopia, according to refractive error, and underwent choroidal scans using enhanced-depth imaging-optical coherence tomography. CT was measured at the fovea and at 1 mm and 3 mm nasal (N1 and N3), temporal (T1 and T3), superior (S1 and S3), and inferior (I1 and I3) from the fovea. Results: Mean foveal CTs were 346.86 μm, 301.97 μm, and 267.46 μm in the hyperopia, emmetropia, and myopia groups, respectively (p < 0.05). CTs at N3 and T3 were 214.59 μm and 318.68 μm, 163.92 μm and 320.79 μm, and 153.93 μm and 295.61 μm in the hyperopia, emmetropia, and myopia groups, respectively (p < 0.05). All CTs in the hyperopia group were thicker than those of other groups (p < 0.05). Fovea was thickest and was significantly thicker than at N3 and I3 in hyperopia (p < 0.05). T3 thickness in the emmetropia and myopia groups was greater than thickness at other areas, particularly the nasal and inferior choroids (p < 0.05). CT was positively correlated with spherical equivalent (p = 0.029). Conclusions: In Korean children, CTs were greater in the hyperopia group than in the emmetropia and myopia groups. The temporal choroid was thicker than the nasal choroid, regardless of the refractive error. The thickest location in the hyperopia group was the fovea; however, the temporal choroid was thickest in the emmetropia and myopia groups.

Purpose: In this study, we examined the anatomic characteristics of the distal femur and the proximal tibia to determine if there were significant differences between male and female patients. Materials and Methods: Seventy six patients (50 of female, 26 of male) who were treated by total knee arthroplasty using ROBODOC®, were included. The anteroposterior and mediolateral length of the distal femur and proximal tibia were checked using the ORTHODOC program. Results: The mean sizes of the distal femur and proximal tibia of female knees were slightly smaller than those of male knees Statistically significant differences were observed between the two groups (p<0.05 for all). On the other hand, the anteroposterior and mediolateral ratios of distal femur and proximal tibia revealed no differences between female and male knees (p<0.05 for all) Conclusion: The anteroposterior to mediolateral ratio was similar in the distal femur and proximal tibia of Korean females.

The requirement for CD4 T cells in priming and maintaining cytotoxic T-lymphocyte responses presents a long-standing paradox in cellular immunology. In this study, we used sequential coadministration of a DNA vaccine encoding an invariant (Ii) chain in which the class II-associated Ii-peptide region is replaced with CD4 T-helper epitope, PADRE [Pan human leukocyte antigen-DR reactive epitope (Ii-PADRE)] or Bcl-xL with a DNA vaccine encoding Sig/E7/LAMP-1 to verify the role of CD4 T cells for the generation of effectors and memory E7-specific CD8 T-cell immune responses. Sequential vaccination, with Ii-PADRE+Sig/E7/LAMP-1 priming followed by Bcl-xL+Sig/E7/LAMP-1 boosting led to generation of E7-specific CD8 T cells, and was nearly equivalent in effect to coadministration with Ii-PADRE+Sig/E7/LAMP-1 or Bcl-xL+Sig/E7/LAMP-1 at both prime and boost. The mice vaccinated with the Ii-PADRE+Sig/E7/LAMP-1 prime-Bcl-xL+Sig/E7/LAMP-1 boost regimen exhibited better long-term E7-specific immune responses and tumor prevention effects in vivo than the mice vaccinated with the reverse sequential coadministration. After CD4 T-cell depletion, mice primed with Ii-PADRE+Sig/E7/LAMP-1 generated low numbers of E7-specific CD8 T cells and suppressed long-term memory CD8 T-cell response regardless of the sequence or combination of DNA vaccines administered. Mice primed with Bcl-xL+Sig/E7/LAMP-1 only suppressed long-term memory CD8 T-cell response after depletion of CD4 T cells before priming. Our findings suggest that activated CD4 T cells at prime phase are important to generate the antigen-specific CD8 T-cell immune responses and CD4 T cells, which are naive or activated, play a role to maintain the long-term memory responses.
