The oxidation of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) films deposited on ZnO/indium tin oxide (ITO) under blue light irradiation in either dry or humid atmospheres was studied using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy in combination with UV vis absorption spectroscopy. From results up to 12 h of reaction, ring-opening was hardly found, and it is suggested that the water molecules chemisorbed competitively against O-2 (i.e., the major oxidizing agent), thereby decreasing the oxidation of P3HT. Beyond 12 h, thiophene ring-opening took place at the topmost surface layer of P3HT, and the humidity facilitated the ring-opening of P3HT. Regarding the oxidation of the entire P3HT thin film, the humidity did not have a large influence on the oxidation behavior of P3HT. Here, the degree of oxidation of P3HT abruptly increased when the reaction time exceeded 12 h. This suggests that the rate of oxidation of the entire P3HT film is determined by the slow diffusion of the activated oxygen species into the deeper layers of the P3HT films. We also demonstrate that the photoinduced degradation of P3HT can be retarded by turning off light between irradiation, which may be due to the reversible desorption of activated oxygen species under dark conditions.

Collision Avoidance for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles based on Safety Radius of the Formation Geometry
Sang-gyun Woo,Cheonman Park,Dongjin Lee,Sang-yeoun Lee 제어로봇시스템학회 2020 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2020 No.10
In this paper, we propose a geometry-based collision avoidance method for unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) in formation flight. The leader-follower method was used for formation flight, and the geometry-based Closest Point of Approach (CPA) method was used for the collision avoidance. The safety radius was considered by deriving a circumscribed circle that includes the whole of the safety radius of the UAVs in the formation. The collision avoidance command was generated after calculating the closest point of approach from the intruder based on the center of the circle. The leader avoids collision as considering followers and also followers avoid collision by just following the leader. The proposed method was verified performance of formation flight and collision avoidance through numerical simulation.

Background/Aims: No standard chemotherapy has been established for advanced gallbladder cancer. The authors studied the activity and tolerability of a gemcitabine and ox-aliplatin (GEMOX) combination in unresectable gallbladder cancer (GBC). Methods: Adult patients with pathologically confirmed unresectable GBC were prospectively recruited at three centers. No patient had received prior chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Patients received cycles of gemcitabine at 1,000 mg/m2 on day 1, followed by oxaliplatin at 100 mg/m2 on day 2, every 2 weeks. The primary study endpoint was time to progression. Results: Forty patients with unresect-able GBC were enrolled. The median age was 60 years (range, 38 to 79 years). All patients showed good performance status. Of the 33 analyzable patients, 12 achieved partial re-sponse (36%), 17 stable disease (52%), and four progressive disease (12%). No patient achieved a complete response. The tumor control rate was 88%. At a median follow-up of 6.8 months, the median time to progression was 5.3 months (95% confidence interval [CI], 3.7 to 6.9), and median overall survival was 6.8 months (95% CI, 6.1 to 7.5). Nine of the 40 patients (23%) experienced at least a grade-3 adverse event, but no patient experienced a grade-4 adverse event. Conclu-sions: GEMOX combination therapy is a feasible option and is well tolerated in unresectable GBC. (Gut Liver 2013;7:594-598)
Traction Motor-Inverter Utilized Battery Charger for PHEVs
Woo, Dong-Gyun,Kim, Yun-Sung,Kang, Gu-Bae,Lee, Byoung-Kuk The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2013 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.13 No.4
Most eco-friendly cars can adopt the concept of an integrated battery charger (IBC), which uses currently available motor drive systems. The IBC has a lot of strong points such as low cost and minimum space for the high voltage battery charger. On the other hand, it also has some defects caused by its structure. In this paper, the shortcomings of the conventional IBC for PHEVs with interior permanent magnet motors are discussed, and two advanced IBCs with improved performance are presented. Compared with the conventional IBC, the two advanced IBCs have plenty of strengths such as low common noise, high efficiency, simple sensing methods, etc. Then, the digital control algorithm is modified and a power loss calculation is carried out with simulation software. Finally, experimental results are provided to show the performance of the IBC systems.

This study was conducted to develop a model to describe the effect of antimicrobials [potassium sorbate (PS), potassium lactate (PL), and combined PL and sodium diacetate (SDA, PLSDA)] on the growth parameters of Listeria monocytogenes such as specific growth rate (SGR) and lag phase periods (LT) in air-dried raw sausages as a function of storage temperature (4, 10, 16, and 25℃). Results showed that the SGR of L. monocytogenes was dependent on the storage temperature and level of antimicrobials used. The most effective treatment was the 4% PLSDA, followed by the 2% PLSDA and 4% PL and 0.2% PS exhibited the least antimicrobial effect. Increased growth rates were observed with increasing storage temperatures from 4 to 25℃. The growth data were fitted with a Gompertz equation to determine the SGR and LT of the L. monocytogenes. Six polynomial models were developed for the SGR and LT to evaluate the effect of PS (0.1, 0.2%) and PL (2, 4%) alone and PLSDA (2, 4%) on the growth kinetics of L. monocytogenes from 4 to 25℃.
