Multi-Point Aerodynamic Design Optimization of DLR F-6 Wing-Body-Nacelle-Pylon Configuration
Saitoh, Takashi,Kim, Hyoungjin,Takenaka, Keizo,Nakahashi, Kazuhiro The Korean Society for Aeronautical and Space Scie 2017 International Journal of Aeronautical and Space Sc Vol.18 No.3
Dual-point aerodynamic design optimization is conducted for DLR-F6 wing-body-nacelle-pylon configuration adopting an efficient surface mesh movement method for complex junction geometries. A three-dimensional unstructured Euler solver and its discrete adjoint code are utilized for flow and sensitivity analysis, respectively. Considered design conditions are a low-lift condition and a cruise condition in a transonic regime. Design objective is to minimize drag and reduce shock strength at both flow conditions. Shape deformation is made by variation of the section shapes of inboard wing and pylon, nacelle vertical location and nacelle pitch angle. Hicks-Henne shape functions are employed for deformation of the section shapes of wing and pylon. By the design optimization, drag coefficients were remarkably reduced at both design conditions retaining specified lift coefficient and satisfying other constraints. Two-point design results show mixed features of the one-point design results at low-lift condition and cruise conditions.
APPLICATIONS OF THE REPRODUCING KERNEL THEORY TO INVERSE PROBLEMS
Saitoh, Saburou Korean Mathematical Society 2001 대한수학회논문집 Vol.16 No.3
In this survey article, we shall introduce the applications of the theory of reproducing kernels to inverse problems. At the same time, we shall present some operator versions of our fundamental general theory for linear transforms in the framework of Hilbert spaces.

This paper presents a new prototype of soft-switching DC-DC power converter with a high frequency transformer link which has two active power controlled switches in full bridge rectifier with capacitor input type smoothing filter. In this DC-DC converter, ZVS of the inverter in transformer primary side and ZCS of active rectifier area in secondary side can be completely achieved by taking advantage of parasitic inductor component of high-frequency transformer and lossless snubbing capacitors. Its operation principle and salient features are described. The steady-state operating characteristics of the proposed DC-DC power converter are illustrated and discussed on the basis of the simulation results in addition to the experimental ones obtained by 2kw-40kHz power converter breadboard set up.<br/>
EFFECTS OF CO CONTENT AND WC GRAIN SIZE ON WEAR OF WC CEMENTED CARBIDE
Hiroyuki Saitoh,Akira Iwabuchi,Tomoharu Shimizu 한국트라이볼로지학회 2002 한국트라이볼로지학회 학술대회 Vol.2002 No.10
WC cemented carbide are used as many die material to improve abration resistance. Mechanical properties of the cemented carbide were influenced by Co content and WC grain size. In this study, effects of Co content and WC grain size of WC cemented carbide on wear were examied. We prepared 13 cemented carbides with different Co content and WC grain size. Wear test was carried out against S45C under dry condition at 98N and 232㎜/s. From the results, we found that wear increased with both Co content and WC grain size. Specific wear rate was range 10??㎣/Nm.
National screening programs for cervical cancer in Asian countries

Cervical cancer is still one of the most common female cancers in Asia and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in low- and middle-income countries. Nowadays, national screening programs for cervical cancer are widely provided in Asian countries. We reviewed the National Cancer Screening Program (NCSP) in China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, and Thailand. The NCSP were established at varying times, from 1962 in Japan to 2014 in Indonesia. The primary screening method is based on cytology in all countries except for India and Indonesia. In India and Indonesia, visual inspection of the cervix with acetic acid (VIA) is mainly used as a primary screening method, and a “see and treat” strategy is applied to women with a positive VIA result. The starting age of NCSP ranges from 18 years in China to 30 years in Thailand. The screening interval is 2 years in all countries except for China and Indonesia, in which it is 3 years. Uptake rates of NCSP vary from 5.0%–59.7%. Many women in low- and middle-income countries still do not participate in NCSP. To improve uptake rates and thereby prevent more cases of cervical cancer, Asian countries should continue to promote NCSP to the public using various approaches.
Selection of an optimized method for pitting processes with sustainability as an important factor
Ryuichi Saitoh,Hiroki Yamakiri,Tsuneo Kurita,Shinsuke Kondoh,Nozomu Mishima,Shinya Sasaki 대한기계학회 2010 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.24 No.1
Recent engineering products must meet the demand for downsizing and sophistication. Environmentally benign manufacturing has also become a key technology for sustainable development. Striking a balance between product quality and environmental impact in manufacturing processes has become an important issue in the design of eco-friendly products. However, despite this increasing demand from the industry, there is dearth of research on the environmental impact of processing as compared to studies on conventional manufacturing factors such as cost and time. We have tried to clarify the relationship between quality and environmental impact directly from experimental data. The pitting process that we chose as our experimental process is one of the most general and important processes in the industry. In this paper, we discuss a basic concept for selecting optimal processing methods and conditions for the pitting process from the aspect of employing an environmentally benign process. By applying our study to the industry, engineers can easily conduct processes that are not only high in quality but also low in environmental impact.
