외과적 보조의 급속상악확장술 : 치험 5예 REPORT OF 5 CASES

Five adults (3 cases of bilateral posterior crossbite, 2 cases of unilateral posterior crossbite) with intermaxillary discrepancy of over 5㎜ due to maxillary transverse deficiency were treated by surgically assisted rapid maxillary expansion (SARME). Bilateral maxillary horizontal osteotomies, osteotomies of pterygomaxillary junction and anterior lateral nasal wall, ans anterior palatal osteotomy were performed in 4 cases, and unilateral osteotomies in 1case, followed by palatal expansion with tooth-borne orthopedic applicance. No significant complication was observed. The mean palatal expansion was 7.2㎜ (5.8∼10.0㎜) in the maxillary first molar region. During the mean follow-up period of 4 years (5 months∼8 years 7 months), no recurrence of crossbite was observed in all cases. The SARME seemed to be a simple, stable, and reliable procedure for achieving a permanent increase of over 5㎜ in skeletal maxillary transverse width of adults.

<P><B>Background:</B> T-cell immunosenescence, a hallmark of an aging immune system, is potentially linked to the risk of developing cancer and other aging-related diseases. Chronic infection by cytomegalovirus (CMV) has been widely studied as a risk factor for T-cell immunosenescence, but the role of persistent chemicals has never been examined. As a typical example of persistent chemicals, we evaluated whether organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) are related to T-cell immunosenescence in the general population.</P><P><B>Methods:</B> Serum concentrations of β-hexachlorocyclohexane, <I>p,p</I>′-DDT, <I>p,p</I>′-DDE, and trans-nonachlor were measured in 95 Korean adults ages 30 to 64 years. T-cell immunosenescence was assessed by the frequencies of CD8<SUP>+</SUP>CD57<SUP>+</SUP>, CD8<SUP>+</SUP>CD28<SUP>−</SUP>, CD4<SUP>+</SUP>CD57<SUP>+</SUP>, and CD4<SUP>+</SUP>CD28<SUP>−</SUP> T lymphocytes in 20 mL of fresh peripheral blood.</P><P><B>Results:</B> The senescence of CD8<SUP>+</SUP> T lymphocytes was the most consistently associated with OCPs. For quartiles of measurements of OCPs, adjusted mean percentages of CD8<SUP>+</SUP>CD57<SUP>+</SUP> and CD8<SUP>+</SUP>CD28<SUP>−</SUP> T lymphocytes in the CD8<SUP>+</SUP> T lymphocyte population were 23.9, 27.6, 31.0, and 38.7 (<I>P</I><SUB>trend</SUB> < 0.01) and 25.6, 27.3, 28.0, and 35.5 (<I>P</I><SUB>trend</SUB> = 0.02), respectively. When we compared the strength of the associations among OCPs, CMV IgG titer, and age, OCPs showed the strongest association with markers of immunosenescence. Importantly, the association between OCPs and immunosenescence markers was more prominent among participants without known risk factors, such as a young age or low CMV immunoglobulin G titer.</P><P><B>Conclusions:</B> Chronic exposure to low-dose OCPs may be a new risk factor for T-cell immunosenescence.</P><P><B>Impact:</B> T-cell immunosenescence may be one possible mechanism linking low-dose OCPs and many chronic diseases. <I>Cancer Epidemiol Biomarkers Prev; 27(10); 1159–67. ©2018 AACR</I>.</P>

오늘날 임베디드 시스템은 우리들의 생활에 커다란 변화를 가져왔으며, 많은 적용분야와 다양한 기능을 갖추고 있어서 직장 생활 및 여가 생활 등에서 널리 사용되고 있다. 임베디드 시스템에 적용되는 운영체제는 높은 신뢰성과 빠른 수행속도, 적은 메모리를 특정으로 하는 실시간 운영체제 (RTOS)이며, 임베디드 환경에서 저장장치를 관리하기 위한 파일 시스템은 필수 요구 조건이 되고 있다. 파일 시스템은 프로그래머가 시스템 내부의 저장장치나 네트워크상의 저장장치에 효율적인 접근을 할 수 있도록 해주며, 이러한 저장장치들로는 CD-ROM, 플로피 디스크, 하드 디스크, 플래시 메모리 등이 있는데, 이러한 현존하는 많은 파일 시스템을 통합 관리할 수 있는 가상 파일 시스템 (Virtual File System : VFS)을 필요로 하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 실시간 운영체제와 함께 동작하는 가상 파일 시스템을 설계하고 구현하는 방법을 제시한다.
Participation of Opioid Pathway in the Central Antinociceptive Effects of Eugenol

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the central antinociceptive effects of eugenol after intraperitoneal administration. Experiments were carried out using male Sprague-Dawley rats. Subcutaneous injection of 5% formalin-induced nociceptive behavioral responses was used as the pain model. Subcutaneous injection of 5% formalin significantly produced nociceptive responses by increasing the licking time during nociceptive behavior. Subsequent intraperitoneal injection of 100 mg/kg of eugenol led to a significant decrease in the licking time. However, low dose of eugenol (50 mg/kg) did not affect the nociceptive behavioral responses produced by subcutaneous injection of formalin. Intrathecal injection of 30 μg of naloxone, an opioid receptor antagonist, significantly blocked antinociceptive effects produced by intraperitoneal injection of eugenol. Neither intrathecal injection of methysergide (30 μg), a serotonin receptor antagonist nor phentolamine (30 μg), an α-adrenergic receptor antagonist influenced antinociceptive effects of eugenol, as compared to the vehicle treatment. These results suggest that central opioid pathway participates in mediating the antinociceptive effects of eugenol.
A New White Waxy Corn “Daedukchal 1” Hybrid with High Yield and High Table Quality

A new waxy corn hybrid ‘Daedukchal 1’ was developed from single cross between CNU 504 and CNU 2396 at Chungnam National University in 2007. Inbred CNU 504 used as a seed parent and inbred CNU 2396 as a pollen parent were collected throughout domestic regions. Tasseling date of this hybrid was seven days later than that of check hybrid, ‘Chalok 1’. ‘Daedukchal 1’ was 19.7 cm in ear length and 4.5 cm in ear diameter. On yield trial, ear length of this hybrid was increased 29.7% compared with a check hybrid, ‘Chalok 1’. ‘Daedukchal 1’ had white kernels and good eating quality due to high sugar content and thinner pericarp. The ratio of kernel set length/ear length was similar to ‘Chalok 1’. It is moderately resistant to southern leaf blight and northern leaf blight but susceptible to corn borer. The yields of ‘Daedukchal 1’ in fresh ear weight and in number of fresh ear were 16% and 8%, respectively, higher than those of a check hybrid in regional yield trials for two years. Seed production for this hybrid was better because of the consistency of tasseling dates.
