        ESSD 개념을 도입한 대구시 녹지보전등급 설정에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this research is to establish a green space conservation grade for sustainable urban development of Taegu metropolitan city using GIS and RS methods, together with the valuation items of green spaces centered around ecological, useful, and socio-cultural factors. The results of this study are as follows: 1. According to the ecological factor, the first grade is 81.4km² and then Kachag-myun, Dong-gu in order, have needs of sustaining conservation policy of urban environment improvement and protection of the wild habitats. 2. According to the usefulness of urban parks, the first and second grade which is over 150 persons/km² in population density of the catchment areas, were Talsung park, Sinam park, Yongsan park and etc., the areas of those parks consists of 0.7% of the whole urban parks. 3. According to the socio-cultural factor, the first grade is located in urban natural parks, and the second grade is which are composed of Green Belt and agriculture in Talsung-gun. 4. Analyzing these results synthetically, the first grade conservation is 18%, as the forest in the upper zone of Mt. Palgongsan, Mt. Bisul, and Mt. Daeduck, these regions needed to preserve absolutely. This research is a basic step to show the methodology for all-round evaluation of green space using GIS and RS. Hereafter, it is necessary to consider general evaluation index of green spaces, and to consider the quantitative and qualitative aspect.

        한국 탐사보도 기자들의 소명의식과 실천에 대한 문화기술지 연구

        이 연구는 탐사보도에서 소명의식은 필수조건인지, 탐사보도 기자들은 어떤 소명의식을 가지고 있는지, 가지고 있다면 소명의식을 구체적으로 어떻게 실천하는지 탐구했다. 이를 위해 막스 베버(Max Weber)가 주장한 ‘소명(Beruf)’ 개념을 이론으로 적용했다. 연구대상은 뉴스타파 취재팀이며, 연구방법은 참여관찰과 심층면담을 병행한 문화기술지이다. 연구 결과 첫째, 뉴스타파 기자들은 탐사보도에서 소명의식을 중요하다고 생각했다. 취재팀 내에서는 소명의식의 실재에서 차이가 발생했는데 아직 이렇다 할 소명의식을 형성하지 기자들은 직장에 대한 소속감 저하와 탐사보도 기자로서의 정체성에 혼란을 겪고 있었다. 둘째, 취재팀 내에서 ‘신념의 화신’으로 통하는 최경영과 한상진 기자의 경우 뉴스타파의 열린 뉴스 생산 방식 속에서 소명의식을 적극적으로 보도에 투영하고 있었다. 이들 보도의 특징은 ‘자신감을 바탕으로 한 집요함’이었다. 이들은 보도 건수나 취재력 등에서 취재팀 내에서 긍정적 평가를 받고 있었는데 성과의 원동력은 소명의식이었던 것으로 판단됐다. 셋째, 신념의 과잉으로 인한 오류가 관찰됐다. 최경영은 “가치저널리즘”을 추구하며 날카로운 비판 보도로 ‘선지자’의 모습을 보이기도 했지만, 때로는 자신의 시선이나 관점이 과다해 ‘광신도’의 모습도 보였다. 신념의 과잉은 사실의 과장, 적대적 공격, 그리고 ‘끼워넣기’ 등으로 나타났다. This research explored if the sense of calling is a necessary condition in investigative journalism, what kind of calling investigative journalists have, and how to carry out their calling if they have. The research subject was the news reporter team in Newstapa, and the research method was ethnography which concurrently performed participation observation and in - depth interview. Research results are as follows. First, news reporters thought that the sense of calling was important in investigative journalism. In news reporter team, there was a difference in the reality of the sense of calling, and the reporters who had not yet formed calling to do so were confused by the deterioration of belonging to the workplace and the identity of as investigative journalist. Second, Choi Kyoung-young and Han Sang-jin, who are considered ‘icon of calling’ in the team, were actively reflecting on their calling in their news stories using the open-minded news production system. The characteristic of these reports was ‘obstinacy based on confidence’. They were evaluated positively in the team in terms of the number of reports and coverage, and the driving force of the performance was judged to be the sense of calling. Third, errors caused by the excess of belief were observed. Choi Kyoung-young pursued “value journalism” and showed the appearance of ‘prophet’ through sharp criticism reports, but sometimes his gaze or perspective was excessive, and he also showed the appearance of ‘fanaticism’. The excess of belief appeared as the exaggeration of the facts, hostile attacks, and ‘embedding’.

        Antigenieity Study of CFA-001,Cefazolin,a Cephalosperin Derivative Produced by an Enzymatic Semisynthesis

        The antigenic potential of CFA-001, cefazolin, a cephalosporin derivative produced by an enzymatic semisynthesis, was determined in Hartley guinea pigs. A battery of tests employed consisted of active systemic anaphylaxis (ASA), passive cutaneous anaphylaxis (PCA), and indirect hemagglutination test (IHA). The results were as follows: 1) In ASA, no signs attributable to anaphylaxis was observed in guinea pigs sensitized with CFA-001, whereas OVA-sensitized animals induced severe anaphylactic symptoms; 2) guinea pigs did not produce antibodies against CFA-001 when sensitized with or without Freund's complete adjuvant (FCA) in homologous PCA tests. Meanwhile, antibodies against ovalbumin (OVA) were clearly detected; 3) No CFA-001-specific hemagglutination was observed in the IHA using sera obtained from CFA-001-sensitized guinea pigs. These results suggest that CFA-001 has no antigenicity potential in guinea pigs.

        An investigation of local heat transfer characteristics in a ventilated disc brake with helically fluted surfaces

        Local Nusselt numbers in the cooling flow passage of the automobile disc brake with helically fluted surfaces are presented. The flat surface in the flow passage is modified to the helically fluted surface for the purpose of enhancing the heat transfer rate, thereby reducing the thermal stress and deformation in the disc brake. Thermochromic liquid crystals and shroud-transient technique are used to measure spatially-resolved surface temperature distributions, which are used to deduce local Nusselt numbers. The Reynolds number Re ranges from 30,000 to 70,000, the helix angle θ is fixed at 45o and the dimensionless streamwise distance z/d ranges from 1.5 to 4.5. The results show that in general, local Nusselt numbers monotonically decrease with a distance away from both windward and leeward crests of the helical flute and reach a minimum value near its valley for all Re’s and z/d’s tested. The local Nusselt numbers on the helically fluted grooves are maximum 51.6 to 93.7% higher than values measured on the flat surface. The heat transfer enhancement magnitudes become more pronounced with smaller Re and z/d. The largest enhancement occurs at the windward side of the helical flute at z/d = 1.5 and Re = 30,000. It is also found that at Re = 30,000 the average Nusselt numbers on the helically fluted surface are maximum 37 % higher than those on the flat surface. The numerical results show that with 10 braking cycles, the temperatures with helically fluted surface are maximum 44.3 %, 36.8 %, and 36.6 % lower than those with the flat surface in the inlet, the center, and the outlet, respectively.

      • The critical warning sign of real-time brainstem auditory evoked potentials during microvascular decompression for hemifacial spasm

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P><B>Objective</B></P> <P>The aim of this study was to define the critical warning sign of real-time brainstem auditory evoked potential (BAEP) for predicting hearing loss (HL) after microvascular decompression (MVD) for hemifacial spasm (HFS).</P> <P><B>Methods</B></P> <P>Nine hundred and thirty-two patients with HFS who underwent MVD with intraoperative monitoring (IOM) of BAEP were analyzed. We used a 43.9 Hz/s stimulation rate and 400 averaging trials to obtain BAEP. To evaluate HL, pure-tone audiometry and speech discrimination scoring were performed before and one week after surgery. We analyzed the incidence for postoperative HL according to BAEP changes and calculated the diagnostic accuracy of significant warning criteria.</P> <P><B>Results</B></P> <P>Only 11 (1.2%) patients experienced postoperative HL. The group showing permanent loss of wave V showed the largest percentage of postoperative HL (<I>p</I> < 0.001). No patient who experienced only latency prolongation (≥1 ms) had postoperative HL. Loss of wave V and latency prolongation (≥1 ms) with amplitude decrement (≥50%) were highly associated with postoperative HL.</P> <P><B>Conclusions</B></P> <P>Loss of wave V and latency prolongation of 1 ms with amplitude decrement ≥50% were the critical warning signs of BAEP for predicting postoperative HL.</P> <P><B>Significance</B></P> <P>These findings elucidate the critical warning sign of real-time BAEP.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Critical warning sign of real-time BAEP during MVD for hemifacial spasm have been studied. </LI> <LI> Loss of wave V and the significant change of both latency and amplitude are the critical signs. </LI> <LI> Isolated wave V latency prolongation of >1 ms without amplitude loss >50% is not saaociated with postoperative hearing loss. </LI> </UL> </P>

      • Wafer-scale surface roughening for enhanced light extraction of high power AlGaInP-based light-emitting diodes.

        <P>A new approach to surface roughening was established and optimized in this paper for enhancing the light extraction of high power AlGaInP-based LEDs, by combining ultraviolet (UV) assisted imprinting with dry etching techniques. In this approach, hexagonal arrays of cone-shaped etch pits are fabricated on the surface of LEDs, forming gradient effective-refractive-index that can mitigate the emission loss due to total internal reflection and therefore increase the light extraction efficiency. For comparison, wafer-scale FLAT-LEDs without any surface roughening, WET-LEDs with surface roughened by wet etching, and DRY-LEDs with surface roughened by varying the dry etching time of the AlGaInP layer, were fabricated and characterized. The average output power for wafer-scale FLAT-LEDs, WET-LEDs, and DRY3-LEDs (optimal) at 350 mA was found to be 102, 140, and 172 mW, respectively, and there was no noticeable electrical degradation with the WET-LEDs and DRY-LEDs. The light output was increased by 37.3% with wet etching, and 68.6% with dry etching surface roughening, respectively, without compromising the electrical performance of LEDs. A total number of 1600 LED chips were tested for each type of LEDs. The yield of chips with an optical output power of 120 mW and above was 0.3% (4 chips), 42.8% (684 chips), and 90.1% (1441 chips) for FLAT-LEDs, WET-LEDs, and DRY3-LEDs, respectively. The dry etching surface roughening approach developed here is potentially useful for the industrial mass production of wafer-scale high power LEDs.</P>

        Predictors of Positive or Close Surgical Margins in Breast-Conserving Surgery for Patients with Breast Cancer

        Purpose: This study aimed to determine the clinical and pathological factors associated with a higher rate of positive or close margins after breast-conserving surgery (BCS) by comparing these patients to patients with a negative margin. The second aim was to evaluate intraoperative resection margin status and reoperation rates for margin control in patients who underwent BCS. Methods: We reviewed the clinical and pathological data of all women diagnosed with invasive breast carcinoma (IBC) and ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) at our institution between January 2006 and December 2016. Results: During the 10-year study period, 785 patients were diagnosed with either IBC or DCIS, and 402 of these patients had undergone a total mastectomy as the primary treatment. The remaining 383 patients who underwent BCS were included in the final analysis. Of these, 100 patients (26.1%) had intraoperative positive or close margins. The remaining 283 patients (73.9%) had a negative margin intraoperatively, but 32 of these patients had positive or close margins on permanent sections. In the multivariate analyses, microcalcifications on mammograms (vs. none; odds ratio [OR], 1.911; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.156–3.160), in situ carcinomas larger than 2.0 cm (vs. ≤2.0 cm; OR, 3.106; 95% CI, 1.193–8.086), and lumpectomy (vs. quadrantectomy; OR, 2.863; 95% CI, 1.268–6.622) showed a significant association with a positive or close surgical margins. Patients with intraoperative positive or close margins underwent more reoperation than those with negative margins (5.0% vs. 2.8%). Conclusion: After BCS, microcalcifications on mammograms, large-sized in situ carcinomas, and lumpectomy were more likely to have positive or close margins.

        Investigation of Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms in Porcine Candidate Gene for Growth and Meat Quality Traits in the Berkshire Breed

        4개의 후보 유전자를 분석해본 결과, 돼지의 주요 염색체 부위 및 유전자들이 주요 경제성 요인들과 관계가 있는 것으로 확인됐다. 양돈업계에서 DNA 기술을 이용한 염색체 정보를 활용하기 위해 본 연구에서는 4개의 후보 유전자에서 생성된 중합효소연쇄반응(PCR) 생성물을 비교 재 서열 함으로써 단일염기변이(SNP) 표지들을 개발했다. 또한 이들 4개의 SNP에 대해 PCR 제한효소 절편길이 다형 성(RFLP) 분석을 전개한 후, 이를 대한민국내 버크셔 종 돼지 개체군의 유전자형을 분석하는데 활용했다. 본 연구는 유용한 단일염기변이를 식별하고 돼지개체군 내 경제적으로 중요한 특성들과 SNP의 연관성을 확인하는 데 그 목적이 있다. This study was conducted to identify useful single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and determine their association with economically important traits in pig population. Four candidate gene analyses have identified important chromosomal regions and major genes associcated whit economic traits of the pig. For application of the chromosomal information to the pig industry using DNA technology, SNP markers were developed by comparative re-sequencing of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) products of 4 candidate genes (CSF2, IL4, MYOD, RIP140). PCR restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) assays were developed for these 4 SNPs and used to genotype Berkshire pig populations in Korea.
