<P>A chemosensor (NBD-H) based on an amino acid with 7-nitro-2,1,3-benzoxadiazole was used for selective detection of Hg-II and Cu-II among 15 metal ions in aqueous solutions by a colorimetric change. NBD-H sensitively differentiated Hg-II and Cu-II in aqueous solutions by a color change; a pink color for Hg-II and an orange color for CuII. NBD-H showed nanomolar detection limits for Hg-II (176 nM, R-2 = 0.996) and Cu-II (163 nM, R-2 = 0.996). The detection limit for Cu-II was much lower than the maximum allowable level of Cu-II in drinking water recommended by the U.S. EPA. The binding mode study showed that deprotonation of the NH group of NBD-H played a critical role in the binding and sensing of metal ions. NBD-H immobilized on PEG-PS resin maintained the potent binding affinity and sensing ability for the metal ions. The resin with NBD-H was recyclable for the detection of metal ions in 100% aqueous solutions.</P>
Variation of canine vertebral bone architecture in computed tomography

Focal vertebral bone density changes were assessed in vertebral computed tomography (CT) images obtained from clinically healthy dogs without diseases that affect bone density. The number, location, and density of lesions were determined. A total of 429 vertebral CT images from 20 dogs were reviewed, and 99 focal vertebral changes were identified in 14 dogs. Focal vertebral bone density changes were mainly found in thoracic vertebrae (29.6%) as hyperattenuating (86.9%) lesions. All focal vertebral changes were observed at the vertebral body, except for a single hyperattenuating change in one thoracic transverse process. Among the hyperattenuating changes, multifocal changes (53.5%) were more common than single changes (46.5%). Most of the hypoattenuating changes were single (92.3%). Eight dogs, 40% of the 20 dogs in the study and 61.6% of the 13 dogs showing focal vertebral changes in the thoracic vertebra, had hyperattenuating changes at the 7th or 8th thoracic vertebra. Our results indicate that focal changes in vertebral bone density are commonly identified on vertebral CT images in healthy dogs, and these changes should be taken into consideration on interpretation of CT images.

MPCore Based Task Scheduling under Peak Power Constraint

In this paper, we propose a new task scheduling algorithm which can chedule tasks under peak power constraint for MPCore systems. To gain accurate power profile of each task, we simulate the tasks under virtual platform which can estimate power consumption of each instruction. And then, we apply PWL (Piece-Wise Linear) modeling to the power profile of each task to divide a task to some sub-tasks. To meet peak power and average power constraints, we schedule each sub-task in MPCore. If there is no dependency between tasks, we use DVS algorithm in each core to minimize power consumption. We demonstrate the proposed approaches using some benchmark applications.

본 논문은 위치기반 서비스에서 사용자의 위치 정보를 보호하기 위해 필요한 요구사항들을 정리하고, 기존에 연구되었던 기법들을 비교 분석하여 앞에서의 요구사항을 얼마나 충족하는지에 대하여 살펴본다. 또한 기존의 기업들이 충족하지 못하는 부분을 해결하기 위하여 시간대별로 통계화된 밀도 정보롤 기반으로 Cloaking영역을 생성하는 기법을 제안하여 사용자들이 위치기반 서비스를 이용함에 있어서 기존의 기법보다 더 효율적으로 사용자의 위치정보를 보호할 수 있음을 보인다

mer, trans-Re(=O)(PPh_3)_2Cl_3, I, 과 2,3,4,5,6-pentafluoroaniline (C_6F_5NH_2)을 triethylamine 및 trimethylsilyl chloride 존재하에서 반응시켰을때 염 형태의 [Re(=O)Cl_4(PPh_3)] [NHEt_3], II, 화합물을 얻었다. 이 화합물의 결정구조를 X-선회절법으로 규명하였다. 화합물은 단사정계로 결정화되었고, 공간군 P2_1/n, 단위세포 상수값들은 a=9.592(2)Å, b=31.380(4)Å, c=9.219(3)Å β=95.59(2)°이고, 그리고 한 단위세포 안에는 4 개의 분자들이 있었다. 2951개의 측정된 회절점들을 갖고 최소자승법으로 구조를 정밀화한 결과 R (wR_2) 값들은 0.0489(0.1111)이다. The reaction between mer, trans-Re(=O)(PPh_3)_2Cl_3, I, and 2,3,4,5,6-pentafluoroaniline (C_6F_5NH_2), in the presence of triethylamine (NEt_3) and trimethylsilyl chloride (TMSCl) at 75℃ produced [Re(=O)Cl_r(PPh_3)][HNEt_3], II, in a salt form. The crystal structure of II was determined through X-ray diffraction. II crystallized in the monoclinic system, space group P2_1/n with cell parameters a=9.592(2)Å, b=31.380(4)Å, c=9.219(3) Å, β=95.59(2)°, and Z=4. Least-squares refinement of the structure led to a R(wR_2) factor of 0.0489 (0.1111) for 2951 unique reflections of I>2 σ(I) and for 218 variables.
