Flood Video Segmentation on Remotely Sensed UAV Using Improved Efficient Neural Network

        Naili Suri Inthizami,M. Anwar Ma’sum,Machmud R. Alhamidi,Ahmad Gamal,Ronni Ardhianto,Kurnianingsih,Wisnu Jatmiko 한국통신학회 2022 ICT Express Vol.8 No.3

Semantic segmentation can be used to analyze the video data taken by UAV in the flood monitoring system. An accurate analysis can help rescue teams to assess and mitigate flood disasters. This paper proposed an improved Efficient Neural Network architecture to segment the UAV video of flood disaster. The proposed method consists of atrous separable convolution as the encoder and depth-wise separable convolution as the decoder. The experimental results reveal that the proposed method outperforms Efficient Neural Networks’ other architecture and gives the highest frame per second.

Optimization of Submerged Aspergillus oryzae S2 α-Amylase Production

        Belgacem Naili,Mouna Sahnoun,Samir Bejar,Radhouane Kammoun 한국식품과학회 2016 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.25 No.1

Use of 4 agro-industrial by products and organic materials as nitrogen sources for production of Aspergillus oryzae S2 α-amylase in liquid culture was investigated. The 2 agro-industrial byproducts maltose and saccharose, and also lactose and starch were individually evaluated for use as carbon sources. A Box-Behnken experimental design was used to determine optimal conditions for production of α-amylase. A maximum amylase activity of 750 U/mL was obtained at a temperature of 24oC, a urea concentration of 1 g/L, and a C/N ratio of 2. Laboratory scale application of optimal conditions in a 7 L fermentor produced a final α-amylase activity of 770 U/mL after 3 days of batch cultivation. Addition of 10% starch to the culture medium each 12 h immediately after the stationary phase of cell growth led to a production yield of 1,220 U/mL at the end of fed-batch cultivation.

Empowering Service Value of Custom and Cultural Events to Tourism Destination Revisit

Mariana SIMANJUNTAK,Naili FARIDA 한국유통과학회 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.6

This study discussed tourist behavior toward the tourism destination in Lumban Bulbul Toba Beach choosing to visit again. Tourist behavior is the process a tourist undertakes, both observable and unobservable, when planning and participating in tourism. This research employed an explanatory research method and a quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis. The population of this study are the tourists who visit Lumban Bulbul Beach and observers of Toba tourist destinations. The researchers adopted the Stimulus- Organism-Response (SOR) theoretical basis with the assumption that the cause of behavior changes depends on the quality of the stimulus namely the existence of traditional events implemented in Toba and surrounding areas affecting revisit intention to the tourist areas around Lake Toba. The results of hypothesis testing showed that Empowering Custom and Culture Events (ECCE) are influenced by Perceived Value. ECCE affects Distance of Visit, Environmental Awareness, and Customer Intention to revisit, while Perceived Value has no proven effect on Customer Intention to Revisit. The Sobel test results showed that ECCE is proven as mediation between Perceived Value and Customer Intention to Revisit. The results of this study on tourist behavior of revisit intention to Lumban Bulbul destination can be an input for Lake Toba tourist destination management.

Analytical fragility curves for typical Algerian reinforced concrete bridge piers

        Kibboua, Abderrahmane,Naili, Mounir,Benouar, Djillali,Kehila, Fouad Techno-Press 2011 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.39 No.3

This paper illustrates the results of a seismic vulnerability study aimed to derive the fragility curves for typical Algerian reinforced concrete bridge piers using an analytical approach. Fragility curves express the probability of exceeding a certain damage state for a given ground motion intensity (e.g., PGA). In this respect, a set of 41 worldwide accelerometer records from which, 21 Algerian strong motion records are included, have been used in a non-linear dynamic response analyses to assess the damage indices expressed in terms of the bridge displacement ductility, the ultimate ductility, the cyclic loading factor and the cumulative energy ductility. Combining the damage indices defined for 5 damage rank with the ground motion indices, the fragility curves for the bridge piers were derived assuming a lognormal distribution.

      • Electro-osmotic pump in osteo-articular tissue engineering: A feasibility study

        Lemonnier, Sarah,Naili, Salah,Lemaire, Thibault Techno-Press 2014 Advances in biomechanics & applications Vol.1 No.4

The in vitro construction of osteo-articular large implants combining biomaterials and cells is of great interest since these tissues have limited regeneration capability. But the development of such organoids is particularly challenging, especially in the later time of the culture, when the extracellular matrix has almost filled the initial porous network. The fluid flow needed to efficiently perfuse the sample can then not be achieved using only the hydraulic driving force. In this paper, we investigate the interest of using an electric field to promote mass transport through the scaffold at the late stage of the culture. Based on the resolution of the electrokinetics equations, this study provides an estimation of the necessary electric driving force to reach a sufficient oxygen perfusion through the sample, thus analyzing the feasibility of this concept. The possible consequences of such electric fields on cellular activities are then discussed.

겨울철 가습 및 환기에 따른 교실내 쾌적환경 분석

        정성일(Seongir Cheong),성내리(Naili Sheng),김두현(Doohyun Kim),이재근(Jaekeun Lee),황유진(Yujin Hwang),박종훈(Jonghoon Park),서석장(Seokjang Seo) 대한설비공학회 2009 설비공학 논문집 Vol.21 No.7

In this paper, the effects of ventilation and humidification on thermal comfort and indoor air quality(IAQ) were evaluated in a classroom when a heat pump system was operated in winter. Thermal comfort parameters, such as temperature, relative humidity, globe temperature and air velocity, were measured at 9 points in the classroom. The concentration of CO₂ and total suspended particles(TSP) in the classroom were measured in order to analyze IAQ. Temperature distribution in the classroom was decreased by 2∼5℃ when the ventilation system and the humidifier were operated. When the relative humidity was adjusted to 60% by operating the humidifier and the ventilation system, the predicted mean vote(PMV) in the classroom was within the comfortable range of -0.5~0.5. When the ventilation system was operated, the average concentration of CO₂ and TSP were decreased by 645 ppm and 0.17 mg/㎥, respectively. This paper suggests the humidification and ventilation conditions to maintain the comfortable environment in the school classroom in winter experimentally.

The zirconia phase transformation in the preparation of nano zirconia by calcining a gel-emulsion precursor

        Hernawan,Rifki Septawendar,Naili Sofiyaningsih,Suhanda Sutardi 한양대학교 세라믹연구소 2011 Journal of Ceramic Processing Research Vol.12 No.5

Nano-ZrO2 was succesfully prepared by calcining a precursor of a zirconium gel-emulsion in oleic acid. The gel-emulsion process was started with the preparation of a gel zirconium hydroxide. The hydroxide gel was then mixed with oleic acid at various ratios and heated at 200 oC to give zirconia precursors. These precursors were succesfully calcined at 800 oC, 1000 oC,and 1200 oC, to give zirconia powder. The crystal structure and the particle morphology of the calcined powder were identified using XRD, SEM, and TEM. The XRD results show that monoclinic zirconia is formed dominantly with crystallite sizes ranging from 46.2 to 55.3 nm at 800 oC. Meanwhile, the SEM micrographs of the zirconia calcined at 800 oC show particles with a homogenous morphology having sizes below 100 nm. The TEM results indicate that that the individual grain diameters of ZrO2 were less than 60 nm. A lower oleic acid concentration leads to a more alkaline condition and more monoclinic zirconia formed; and a higher calcination temperature leads to a larger size of crystallites.

Determinants of Intention of Electronic Waste Recycling: Application of Theory of Planned Behavior

SIMAMORA, Elisabeth Rotua,FARIDA, Naili,INDRIANI, Farida,SETIAWAN, Budi Korea Distribution Science Association 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.3

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence people's behavioral intentions to recycle waste and focus on people's perceptions of informal waste recycling. The low level of participation in the e-waste recycling process makes research on the factors that encourage household interactions in sorting waste or recycling waste a priority. The purpose of this study is to build a comprehensive model and examine the relationship between perceptions of informal recycling, implementation e-waste management, behavioral intention, convenience of recycling and perceived behavioral control. The framework is the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). The implementation variable e-waste management is used to mediate the relationship between the two constructs. Respondents in this study were cellular phone users who had changed their phones. The number of respondents in this study totaled 165, using the purposive sampling technique. Data analysis techniques in this study used PLS-SEM with WarpPLS version 6.0. The findings show that: (1) perception of informal recycling, e-waste management, and behavioral intention have a significant positive effect; (2) management of e-waste, perception behavioral control and behavioral intention have a positive effect; and (3) the implementation of e-waste management, which causes the convenience of recycling, will increase the intensity of behavior, indicating the results are rejected.

Assessment of seismic fragility curves for existing RC buildings in Algiers after the 2003 Boumerdes earthquake

        Youcef Mehani,Hakim Bechtoula,Abderrahmane Kibboua,Mounir Naili 국제구조공학회 2013 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.46 No.6

The main purpose of this paper is to develop seismic fragility curves for existing reinforced concrete, RC, buildings based on the post earthquake field survey and the seismic performance using capacity design. Existing RC buildings constitute approximately 65% of the total stock in Algiers. This type of buildings, RC, was widely used in the past and chosen as the structural type for the future construction program of more than 2 millions apartments all over Algeria. These buildings, suffered moderate to extensive damage after the 2003 Boumerdes earthquake, on May 21st. The determination of analytical seismic fragility curves for low-rise and mid-rise existing RC buildings was carried out based on the consistent and complete post earthquake survey after that event. The information on the damaged existing RC buildings was investigated and evaluated by experts. Thirty four (34) communes (districts) of fifty seven (57), the most populated and affected by earthquake damage were considered in this study. Utilizing the field observed damage data and the Japanese Seismic Index Methodology, based on the capacity design method. Seismic fragility curves were developed for those buildings with a large number data in order to get a statistically significant sample size. According to the construction period and the code design, four types of existing RC buildings were considered. Buildings designed with pre-code (very poor structural behavior before 1955), Buildings designed with low code (poor structural behavior, between 1955-1981), buildings designed with medium code (moderate structural behavior, between 1981-1999) and buildings designed with high code (good structural behavior, after 1999).
